Restoring a low resolution and motion blurred light field has become essential due to the growing works on parallax-based image processing. These tasks are known as light-field enhancement process. Unfortunately, only a few state-of-the-art methods are introduced to solve the multiple problems jointly. In this work, we design a framework that jointly solves light field spatial super-resolution and motion deblurring tasks. Particularly, we generate a straight-forward neural network that is trained under low-resolution and 6-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) motion-blurred light field dataset. Furthermore, we propose the strategy of local region optimization on the adversarial network to boost the performance. We evaluate our method through both quantitative and qualitative measurements and exhibit superior performance compared to the state-of-the-art methods.

The performance of existing CDMA-type multiple access data transmission systems is limited by interferences due to adverse mobile communication channel characteristics. Among them, the multi-user interference becomes one of the major performance degradation factors because the signal-to-signal orthogonality can be easily perturbed when numerous user signals are distorted by multipath fading channels and mixed together. In order to enhance the performance of CDMA-type systems by suppressing the multi-user interference, we have adopted chip-based cyclic prefix insertion along with adaptive one-tap DFE equalization into MC-DS-CDMA, which is known for its robustness in the frequency selective multipath fading channel environment. In order to assess the performance of the proposed system, a set of computer simulations is performed in the reverse link in which each user signal undergoes different multipath Rayleigh fading. The results show us a superior performance of our system over other CDMA systems in terms of SNR to BER measurements.
A new bioelectrical impedance method has been developed and evaluated. The electrodes; were made of stainless steel and electrical interfaces were created by an upright subject gripping hand electrodes and stepping onto foot electrodes. Eight tactile electrodes were in contact with surfaces of both hands and feet; thumb, palm and fingers, front sole, and rear sole. Automatic on-off switches were used to change current pathways and to measure voltage differences for target segments. Segmental body resistances and whole body resistance(RWHOLE)were measured in 60 healthy subjects. Segmental resistances of right arm(RRA), left arm(RLA), trunk(RT), right leg(RRL) and left leg(RLL)were310.0$\pm$61.6$\Omega$, 316.9$\pm$64.6$\Omega$, 25.1$\pm$3.4$\Omega$, 236.8$\pm$31.2$\Omega$ and 237.6$\pm$30.4$\Omega$, respectively. Individual segmental impedance indexes(Ht2/RRA, Ht2/RT, and Ht2 /RLA) were closely related to lean body mass(LBM)as measured by densitometry ranged from r=0.925 to 0.960. Ht2/(RRA+RT+RLA) predicted LBM slightly better(r=0.969) than the traditional index, Ht2/RWHOLE(r=0.964), supporting the accuracy of the segmental measurement. A multiple regression equation utilizing Ht2/RRA, Ht2/RT and Ht2/RRL predicted LBM with r=0.971. Ht2/RRA term of the regression contributed to more than 40$\%$ of the LBM prediction, indicating that lean mass of arm represented whole body LBM more closely than other body segments. The new bioimpedance method was characterized by upright posture, eight tactile electrodes, segmental measurements and utilization of electronic switches in comparison with the traditional method. The measurement with this new method was extremely reproducible, quick and easy to use.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to measure the resting metabolic rate (RMR) and to assess the accuracy of RMR predictive equations for Korean farmers. Methods: Subjects were 161 healthy Korean farmers (50 males, 111 females) in Gangwon-area. The RMR was measured by indirect calorimetry for 20 minutes following a 12-hour overnight fasting. Selected predictive equations were Harris-Benedict, Mifflin, Liu, KDRI, Cunningham (1980, 1991), Owen-W, F, FAO/WHO/UNU-W, WH, Schofield-W, WH, Henry-W, WH. The accuracy of the equations was evaluated on the basis of bias, RMSPE, accurate prediction and Bland-Altman plot. Further, new RMR predictive equations for the subjects were developed by multiple regression analysis using the variables highly related to RMR. Results: The mean of the measured RMR was 1703 kcal/day in males and 1343 kcal/day in females. The Cunningham (1980) equation was the closest to measured RMR than others in males and in females (males Bias -0.47%, RMSPE 110 kcal/day, accurate prediction 80%, females Bias 1.4%, RMSPE 63 kcal/day, accurate prediction 81%). Body weight, BMI, circumferences of waist and hip, fat mass and FFM were significantly correlated with measured RMR. Thus, derived prediction equation as follow : males RMR = 447.5 + 17.4 Wt, females RMR = 684.5 - 3.5 Ht + 11.8 Wt + 12.4 FFM. Conclusions: This study showed that Cunningham (1980) equation was the most accurate to predict RMR of the subjects. Thus, Cunningham (1980) equation could be used to predict RMR of Korean farmers studied in this study. Future studies including larger subjects should be carried out to develop RMR predictive equations for Korean farmers.

The objective of this study is to investigate the fit preference tendency for ready-to-wears(jackets, skirts and slacks) of adult women and to find out the respective differences by the age range and the obesity level. The study method was the questionnaire survey with the subjects of 295 women of 20 up to 59 years of age. The questionnaire is composed of fit preference tendency, physical measurements, age, and occupation. For the data analysis, SPSS 18.0 program was used, and descriptive statistics, Crosstabs, ANOVA, Duncan's test, t-test and multiple regression were conducted. The findings were as follows. 1. Regarding the fit preferred for each part of jackets, skirts, and slacks, among ready-to-wears, the 'thing with some extra width' in every part was most favored, followed by the 'thing fitting perfectly.' 2. The differences were found in the fit preference tendency by the age of adult women. The fit preference tendency was higher among those in their 20's than among those of the other age range. 3. The differences were also found in the fit preference tendency by the obesity level of adult women. The fit preference tendency was high in the order of the emaciation, normalcy, and obesity types. 4. For all of three items, age and body type or body type influenced the preference by the fit level. As the age was higher and the body type was fatter, those items with some flexibility were preferred.

Micropore filtration of dilute red blood cell (RBC) suspensions is a widely known method for determining red blood cell deformability. Use of this method for cells from various laboratory animal species does require considering the effects of the cell size to pore size ratio and of suspension hematocrit. In general, previous animal studies have utilized 5% hematocrit suspensions and five micron pores, and thus conditions similar to human clinical laboratory practice. However, when used for repeated sampling from small laboratory animals or for parallel multiple samples from different sites in large laboratory animals, the volume of blood sampled and hence the hematocrit of the test suspension may be limited. Our results indicate that hematocrit levels yielding stable values of RBC pore transit time are pore size and species specific: three micron pores = $2{\sim}5%$ for dog and $3{\sim}5%$ for rat; five micron pores $3{\sim}5%$ for dog and $1{\sim}5%$ for rat. An analytical approach using a common expression for calculating transit time is useful for determining the sensitivity of this time to hematocrit alterations and hence to indicate hematocrit levels that may be problematic.
Satellite remote sensing technology for ocean observation has evolved considerably in these last twenty years. Ocean color is one of the most important parameters of ocean satellite measurements. This paper describes a remote sensing of ocean color data project - Asian I-Lac Project; it also introduces several case studies using satellite images in the Asian waters. The Asian waters are related to about 30 Asian countries, representing about 60% of the world population. The project aims at generating long-term time series images (planned for 10 years from 1996 to 2006) by combining several ocean color satellite data, i.e., ADEOS-I OCTS and SeaWiFS, and some other sensors. Some typical parameters that could be measured include Chlorophyll- a (Chl-a), Colored Dissolved Organic Matter (CDOM), and Suspended Material (SSM). Reprocessed OCTS images display spatial variation of Chl-a, CDOM, and SSM in the Asian waters; a short term variability of phytoplankton blooms was observed in the Gulf of Oman in November 1996 by analyzing OCTS and NOAA sea surface temperature (SST); Chl-a concentrations derived from OCTS and SeaWiFS have also been evaluated in coastal areas of the Taiwan Strait, the Gulf of Thailand, the northeast Arabian Sea, and the Japan Sea. The data system provides scientists with capability of testing or developing ocean color algorithms, and transferring images for their research. We have also analyzed availability of OCTS images. The results demonstrate the potential of long-term time series of satellite ocean color data for research in marine biology, and ocean studies. The case studies show multiple applications of satellite images on monitoring of coastal environments in the Asian Waters.
We have conducted questionnaire and measured serum kidney function tests on 156 patients whom have received a treatment at a local Oriental medicine clinic in Seoul from Sept. 1, 2002 to Dec. 31, 2002. Patients were categorized into five groups. The groups are control(10 samples), herbal extract group(41 samples), herbal pills group(5samples), western medicines(45samples), and combination group(55 samples). This study was conducted to investigate how these treatment methods can affect the kidney functions. Following results were obtained : 1) Most of the research subjects were male(103 individuals) living in large urban area, with a drinking habit, highly educated, and with normal marriage. For the treatment history, 45 individuals received western medicine treatment(28.85%), 46 with Oriental medicine(29.49%), and 55patients (35.26%) experienced both forms of the treatment. 2) For measuring Mean(SD) of serum kidney functions for all the research subjects, Bun was 12.16(3.90)g/dl, 0.51(0.19) g/dl for Creatinine, and 4.64(1.49)g/dl for Uric acid. All the measurements were within the normal range. 3) Confounding variables which may affect the kidney functions such as age, smoking, drinking, occupation, and residency were eliminated in calculation and no significant differences were witnessed between the control and experiment groups. 4) In measuring affects of treatment duration on the kidney functions, no statistical significances were shown in multiple regression's ${\beta}(SE)$ values. 5) Correlations affecting the kidney functions are duration of drinking, drinking volume per round, drinking volume per week, smoking, gender, and age difference caused significant correlations. From the above results, we can deduce that taking herbal and western medicine didn't cause significant effects between the control and experiment groups in the kidney functions. Further research is needed in this field to verify this evidence by adding odds ratios and etc.
The emerging notion of data stream has brought many new challenges to the research communities as a consequence of its conceptual difference with conventional concepts of just data. One typical example is data stream processing in sensor networks. The range of data processing considerations in a sensor network is very wide, from physical resource restrictions such as bandwidth, energy, and memory to the peculiarities of query processing including continuous and specific types of queries. In this paper, as one of the physical constraints in data stream processing, we consider the problem of limited memory and propose a new scheme for data stream reduction based on the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) technique. PCA can transform a number of (possibly) correlated variables into a (smaller) number of uncorrelated variables. We adapt PCA for the data stream of a sensor network assuming the cooperation of a query engine (or application) with a network base station. Our method exploits the spatio-temporal correlation among multiple measurements from different sensors. Finally, we present a new framework for data processing and describe a number of experiments under this framework. We compare our scheme with the wavelet transform and observe the effect of time stamps on the compression ratio. We report on some of the results.

A protocol for the web-based GPS data processing system has been developed. The system is developed following the typical ASP system, in which the GPS data acquired by various users can be uploaded through the web and the data is processed with data processing components selected by the users. After the processing, the results are also transported to the users through the web. The developed system is designed for easy software upgrade and it is an synchronous process mode so that the multiple accesses can be handled with high user flexibility. The database components for the efficient GPS data maintenance are developed so that the data from CORS can be used for the data processing. Currently, the absolute and relative positioning algorithms using code measurements are integrated and much more algorithms such as the data quality control, absolute and relative positioning using phases will be integrated in near future.
