  • This paper proposed a new approach to adaptive call admission control based on a neural network for multiple service classes with different quality of service (QoS) in the ATM-based Broadband Integrated Services Digital Networks. the proposed method extend Hiramatsu's neural network based "leaky pattern table" method for the single QoS[1, 2, 3] to deal with multiple services with different QoS by constructing multiple pattern tables based on each service's acceptance or rejection at the call set-up requests, and by simultaneously controlling each service's QoS according to the target QoS of the service and the trunk capacity. Computer simulation results on two service classes with different traffic characteristics and different cell loss rates as QoS, highlight good performance and effectiveness of the proposed call admission controller for multiple service classes.e classes.

  • For contents delivery systems, the service is considered in which the utility depends on each priority class. This paper deals with the multiple priority class of the contents delivery system from the viewpoint of the utility. The willingness to pay (WTP) is introduced as a measure of utility, and the optimum condition is analyzed to maximize the total user's utility. For the system with multiple priority classes, the optimum condition is given in terms of the traffic load, wating time for service for each priority class. Systems with the priority classes, 1, 2 and 3 are analyzed, and the effect of the number of priority classes is examined.

  • In order to improve the accuracy of cell selection in heterogeneous cellular systems, this paper proposes a fuzzy multiple-objective decision-based cell selection (FMDCS) strategy. Since heterogeneous cellular systems have different access technologies and multiple traffic classes, the strategy adopts cell type, data rate, coverage, transmission delay, and call arrival rate as evaluation indices, and uses different weight vectors according to the traffic classes of the mobile host. Then, a fuzzy multiple-objective decision algorithm is applied to select the optimal cell from all candidates. This paper also gives an instance analysis and simulation. The instance analysis shows FMDCS makes different selections for different traffic classes. Simulation results of the after-handoff quality-of-service (QoS) show the selected cell can provide MH optimal service.

  • There has been a discussion about housing classes in sociology and cultural geography since Rex and Moore`s study that housing classes are existing according to home ownership. Besides social classes. housing classes as a variable which explains life styles are existing. The study of housing classes needs microsociological approach which includes multiple aspects of resident`s social class, family type, home ownership, residential area.

  • The exact solution of the closed queueing networks(CQN) is known only for the product form (BCMP) queueing networks. Various computational algorithms are available to derive system throughput(the rate at which a system completes units of computational work) of the networks. However, the computational expense of an exact solution is often excessive when there are multiple classes of cutomers. Instead of computing the exact values, it may be sufficient to derive bounds on the performance measures. Techniques for obtaining bounds on BCMP queueing networks have appeared in the past years. This paper also presents bounds on throughput in CQN models with multiple classes of customers.

  • We consider an M/G/1 queueing system with multiple priority classes of jobs. Considered preemptive rules are the preemptive-resume preemptive-repeat-identical, and preemptive-repeat-different policies. These three preemptive rules will be analyzed in parallel. The key idea of analysis is based on the consideration of a busy period as composite of delay cycle. As results we present the exact Laplace-Stieltjecs(L.S) transforms of residence time and completion time in the system.

  • The objective of this paper is to provide an inventory control policy for the system that carries a single item with a multiple demand classes, when the demand is Poisson distributed random variable. The inventory control process includes the process of determining the reorder point, and the process of inventory control during the lead time. The goal of the optimization process is to achieve the service level of each demand class as well as the system-wide total service level at a preset desired service level while sustaining a minimum average inventory.

  • This paper studies procedures for bottleneck detection in closed queueing networks(CQN's) with multiple job classes. Bottlenecks refer to servers operating at $100\%$ utilization. For CQN's, this can occur as the population sizes approach infinity. Bottleneck detection reduces to a non-linear complementary problem which in important special cases may be interpreted as a Kuhn-Tucker set. Efficient computational procedures are provided.

  • This study aimed to investigate the effect of science class using multiple intelligence on science learning motivation, academic achievement and science process skill of elementary student. The number of participants were 98, 4 classes of $3^{rd}$ graders in G elementary school in B city. The experimental group, 2 classes including 49 participants, had science classes using multiple intelligence while the comparative group, 2 classes including 49 participants, took ordinary teacher-driven lessons using teacher's guidebook. Pre and post tests were done before and after executing lessons to assess the changing in each group's science learning motivation, academic achievement and science process skill. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the pre and post test results of science learning motivation revealed that the experimental group had higher improvement compared to the comparative group and the difference was meaningful. Second, the post test results of the science academic achievement showed that the experimental group had higher average value compared to the comparative group and the difference was meaningful. Third, the pre and post test results of basic science process skill showed that the experimental group had higher average value compared to the comparative group and the difference was meaningful, especially in inference and prediction elements.

  • This study is a generalization of 'stable dynamics' recently suggested by Nesterov and de Palma[29]. Stable dynamics is a new model which describes and provides a stable state of congestion in urban transportation networks. In comparison with user equilibrium model that is common in analyzing transportation networks, stable dynamics requires few parameters and is coincident with intuitions and observations on the congestion. Therefore it is expected to be an useful analysis tool for transportation planners. An equilibrium in stable dynamics needs only maximum flow in each arc and Wardrop[33] Principle. In this study, we generalize the stable dynamics into the model with multiple traffic classes. We classify the traffic into the types of vehicle such as cars, buses and trucks. Driving behaviors classified by age, sex and income-level can also be classes. We develop an equilibrium with multiple traffic classes. We can find the equilibrium by solving the well-known network problem, multicommodity minimum cost network flow problem.
