Even though Korea has lost its important modern era due to Japanese colonialism, it is in the rank of advanced nation today. It is common to think that there was no creative and innovative design activity because it was highly constrained by design activities. Is there no creative idea or innovative design in this period of design activity? As a result of analyzing the various products of modern design left in the question, I was able to find a new and unique Innovation in 10 fields. In other words, today, we can confirm that we have utilized innovative strategies in the field of design such as brand family, new sign system, modernism style, localization, star marketing, one source multi use, private brand, nature friendly, fusion and parody strategy.

This paper presents a streetscape design for "Dangiae-Gil"which is located at 126-1 Yangpyung-2dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul and is about 500m in length and about 24m in width. The design goals are to make a green street on which people want to walk and people can walk and rest safely and pleasantly. To achieve these goals, concepts of environmentally-friendliness, placeness, safety, amenity, vitality, connectivity, and democracy are developed. For pedestrian safety, shared street concepts, such as crank, slalom etc. are adopted. The site is divided into 5 thematic spaces, such as "Village Entrance Space", "Culture Street", "Dangsan Park", "Nature Street", and "Ferry Space". The Village Entrance Space, which is an entrance of the Dangjae-Gil and a welcoming space, is for communicating information about the area. "Dangnamu"(zelkova tree) and signs are introduced here. The Culture Street is for experiencing past and present culture of the area. Colored tiles and plant boxes attached to benches are introduced. The Dangsan park is a sacred space where modem people can feel the sacredness of nature arid of being in a refuge. Dangjib, Dangnamu, multi-purpose plaza, athletic facilities, and playground for infants are introduced. The Nature Street is a space for feeling and teaming nature which has disappeared from the area leading to the river and a space for community participation. The elementary school walls were demolished and nature education spaces, such as butterfly and dragonfly garden, ecological pond, wildflower garden, etc., which are related to school education, are introduced. The Ferry Space is a space symbolizing a old ferry crossing and an entrance plaza to a bridge for "Sunyu-do\" . A boat-shaped deck, an elevator for handicap people, and parking space are introduced. In conclusion, sustainable management schemes for the site are suggested.sted.

This study examined the effects of cultural communication on the fashion distribution type and the shopping benefit in fashion cultural complex space. Surveys period was from Sep. 17th to Sep. 21st in 2012. The Subjects of this study were the young 207 people who had shopping experiences in fashion cultural complex space in their 20s~30s. The data were analyzed by a reliability analysis(Cronbach's ${\alpha}$), factor analysis and regression analysis. The main results of this study were summarized as follows. First, cultural communication in fashion cultural complex space were impacted by cultural brand, cultural display, cultural support and beneficial effect of culture. Second, customers pursued the shopping benefits to get social value, personal pleasure, individual style and economic value. Third, the preference of fashion outlet was effected by cultural brand and cultural display. The beneficial effect of culture and cultural brand influenced on department store preference. The preference of fashion multi-brand shop was impacted by cultural brand, cultural support and beneficial effect of culture. Fourth, cultural communication in fashion cultural complex space had an effect on pursuing shopping benefits. Fifth, customer's demographic characteristics impacted on cultural brand, cultural display and beneficial effect of culture. Especially, these 3 cultural communications were effected by monthly average fashion spending than age/total income.

Eclecticism, fusing and mixing heterogeneous and contrasting elements to create a new awareness of beauty, is based on diversity and pluralism, and as such fits well with the demand of the contemporaries who pursue individualization and diversification, which explains the current vogue for Eclecticism. As a precondition to grasp eclectic styles that are expressed in modern textile design, this study looks into the characteristics of eclecticism in modern art and applies the insight so gained to textile design in an attempt to understand transformations of modern textile design by considering the aesthetic effects and plastic characteristics suggested by the new trend. The result of our research indicates that the trends that characterize modern textile design can be divided into three categories as follows: 1) Mixing of high culture and low culture through cultural fusion, 2) Fusion of differing sensitivities through blending of times, 3) Blending of regional characteristics through geographical mixing. Characteristics of textile designs as influenced by these trends can be summarized as: 1) a conversion in the way textile designs are viewed, 2) increasing emphasis on the playfulness of representation and 3) multi-cultural expressions. In short, eclecticism of textile design represents a phase of modern society that is increasingly oriented toward multifacetedness and points to a direction for a new possibility of future textile designs, necessitating a continuous research along this line.

Neuron-on-a-Chip technology is based on advanced neuronal culture technique, surface micropatterning, microelectrode array technology, and multi-dimensional data analysis techniques. The combination of these techniques allowed us to design and analyze live biological neural networks in vitro using real neurons. In this review article, two underlying technologies are reviewed: Microelectrode array technology and Neuronal patterning technology. There are new opportunities in the fusion of these technologies to apply them in neurobiology, neuroscience, neural prostheses, and cell-based biosensor areas.

This paper examines a particular period in Japanese history. when clothing was systemically changed through government policy. It demonstrates the complex relationships between an Eastern nation and a Western clothing system. It also explores the complexity of roles which clothing plays in society, clothing which brands a nation as masculine, but which resists the discourses of modernity, which were found on native clothing. It demonstrates that native, Japanese clothing has always been developing to meet the needs of its wearers, according to technology, sumptuary laws and prevailing tastes, and therefore that fashion is not any more a product of Europe than it is of the East. It reveals the Japanese fashion system as a complex and multi-dimensional one, about surface design rather than change in shape, bur also being about inner and deep surfaces as well as outer surfaces for public presentation, and thus being a carrier for private as well as public discourses. This examination also demonstrates that whilst fashion may be intimately bound up with the forces of society and also politics, it is also a force which resists outside control, and develops because of the signification with which the embodied wearers endow it.

The purpose of this study is for considering about Zen fashion in the point of view of culture transition. Through this research, the Far-East including Korea will be confirmed as a center of fashion culture in 21st century. The contents are the meaning of culture transition in Post Modern period, the meaning of Zen and changing of fashion trend as the background of Zen Fashion, and the characteristics of Zen fashion design. The results are as follows: Anti-western movement or dismantlement of culture has been represented the limitation of western centered culture. So the interesting about East means the changing to east from west in ideas. To make new creation in fashion field, the comprehension about the western fashion which has been preceeded and new trials using the our tradition will be needed. Zen is a kind of Buddhism and the essence of it is to find myself and express individual experiences. The change of one's sens of value, new age movement and concerning of environment and ecology make more comfortable, simple and healthy elements in clothing. The fusion style is under a vogue in life style and Zen is the core of this trend. The characteristics of Zen fashion are flat dismantlement which has been know as a Japanese style, oriental minimalism and nature beauty of ecology. This characteristics are found not only the shape, color but the will of the behind. The pursing temperance and naturalism are represented the fashion culture transition from the West to Far-East. Therefore multi points of fashion research is very important and the identify about Korean fashion is required in lately for new fashion paradigm.

Our society is moving from a monocultural society of a homogeneous nation to a multi-cultural society as a lot of foreigners are flowing into the country with the advent of globalization and with an effort to secure labor force for economic growth. So, multi-cultural families composed of members using different languages spring up everywhere, but the children in these multi-cultural families have difficulties in acquiring Korean language and are socially maladjusted because of the bilingual environment. The goal of this study is to help enhance the language capabilities and socialities of the children in the multi-cultural families through fine arts using artistic methods. The study method was to analyze the high-quality effects of the fine arts with the theoretical research materials and theses showing the real conditions of the multi-cultural families. And I proposed some ways to improve the linguistic abilities and socialities of the children in the multi-cultural families with the utilization of fine arts. As a result, Firstly, An active use of the bilingual instructors and artistic multimedia is educationally necessary to overcome language restrictions. Secondly, Various ways to utilize fine arts are necessary to improve learning abilities of other subjects. Thirdly, Artistic plays and experiential activities need to be largely applied to education to enhance the abilities of emotional control and socialities. Finally, Integrated culture and art education is essential not only for creativities and socialities but also for personalities for community life.

The purpose of this study was to propose the direction of veganism-based fashion design in environmental and animal protection through the theoretical consideration of vegan fashion and the analysis of the practical design characteristics of veganism in Stella McCartney's fashion. The research was conducted through literature research and case studies. After investigating the concept and characteristics of vegan fashion, focusing on previous studies and various fashion-related Internet data, Stella McCartney's fashion was examined with particular attention on vegan characteristics. The results of the study are as follows: First, imitative nature pursues animal and environmental protection, but the motif or appearance is a characteristic of pursuing a multi-purpose design that imitates animals and nature. Second, expression of value is based on slow fashion, simplicity, and sustainable minimal design. It is expressed indirectly by pursuing permanence, simplicity, and long-wearable design, or directly expressing vegan values through phrases expressed in performances or costumes in the collection. Third, alternative eco-friendliness is characterized by using cruelties-free materials such as faux fur, recycling materials, new bio-materials, and regenerated materials. These vegan characteristics are comprehensively and organically expressed in the works of the collection, and through this, sustainable and eco-friendly vegan fashion is pursued. It is anticipated that by deriving the vegan fashion characteristics of Stella McCartney, who represents vegan fashion, it will be possible to provide the basis for practical direction and design methods for fashion brands aiming for vegan fashion styles.

According to the rapid changes in our society and lifestyles, the methods of spending leisure time are being diversified and the facilities for leisure activities are growing as multi-purposed complexes. Purpose of this study was to figure out the design changes of lodging facility interiors in resort complexes which had been influenced by socio-economic conditions after the year 2000, and to provide fundamental references for planning pleasant and differentiated resort accommodations. To accomplish this purpose, the recent tendency of making complex resort facilities was examined and the changes in the properties of lodging facility design since the year 2000 was analyzed. The result shows that the surface areas of guestroom units have been enlarged, and the composition of floor plans has been diversified into various types. Also the number of bathrooms and built-in furniture units has been increased. For the design properties, concepts and themes for guestroom design has been diversified by applying unique color schemes and design elements. The characteristics of lodging facility design in domestic resort complex have been developed to reflect social trends and customer needs. Nevertheless, to deal with changing culture of leisure life, continuous study on resort facilities and various types of lodging facility is required.
