  • The reducers are widely used to reduce output speed and to amplify driving torque of actuator for industrial robots and many industrial units. But the vibration of robot, which is affected by the reducer, becomes a problem for robot which has to move a driven part with high accuracy.   • An actuator latch device of a hard disk drive is installed for locking an actuator to hold a magnetic head parked in a parking zone. Applying an external force to the drive, the head can move away from the parking zone and destroy data on the disk. A magnet latching mechanism is used to prevent the actuator from moving when the computer is not in use. A permanent magnet holds the actuator when the head is in the parking zone. When the computer is turned on, the actuator has to overcome the latch magnet in order to move. A stronger latch magnet will hold the actuator adequately, but the actuator will not be released when unlocking is required. A breakthrough solution is needed to improve the reliability of the drive without any deterioration of its performance. In order to obtain the idea for resolving this technical contradiction, we analyse patents for actuator latch device of a hard disk drive. A practical way for solving contradictions in product development using TRIZ is proposed in this paper.

A Development of a Collision Prevention System by a Moving Image (이동 영상에 의한 충돌 방지 시스템의 개발)

  • In this Paper, the moving image is detected by a collision preventive system. The noise of these images is reduced by a mean filter. In case of detecting a movement with a binary difference image the moving area is detected exactly by the labeling and the projective method. When the image move slowly with the tracking mode of the system, the center of the tracking window move to the previous tracking window. And the tracking windows are divided into a tracking mode and a coasting mode which are determine by the Contrast-Difference Correlation of the date obtained from a difference image. The coasting mode determine whether continue the tracking step or not comparing the coasting-time values to reducing the error by the disturbance. The coasting and tracking of these moving images are verified by the result of the simulation.

  • In particular, for a practical mobile robot team to perform such a task as that of carrying out a search and rescue mission in a disaster area, the network connectivity and localization have to be guaranteed even in an environment where the network infrastructure is destroyed or a Global Positioning System is unavailable. This paper proposes the new collective intelligence network management architecture of multiple mobile robots supporting seamless network connectivity and cooperative localization. The proposed architecture includes a resource manager that makes the robots move around and not disconnect from the network link by considering the strength of the network signal and link quality. The location manager in the architecture supports localizing robots seamlessly by finding the relative locations of the robots as they move from a global outdoor environment to a local indoor position. The proposed schemes assuring network connectivity and localization were validated through numerical simulations and applied to a search and rescue robot team.

  • LBS has attracted considerable attention with the spread of high performance mobile devices and the expansion of mobile business. Our study starts from the recognition of the problems associated with the current mobile Sales Force Automation(SFA) which is one of the application domain of LBS: they lack the capabilities such as an efficient sharing of information. This paper presents a technical framework in which the location information on the move and the mobile P2P service are utilized for the realization of truly mobile SF A platforms. Major contributions of our study include feasible prototyping of gCRM middleware via which the location-based services on the move are enabled, and a agent module involving the P2P service for mobile clients.
