Design of a Light Collector with Two-story LED Mounting Holder for a Fiber-optic Illuminator (광파이버 일루미네이터의 2층구조형 LED 집광판 설계)

  • This paper proposes a new structure of a fiber-optic illuminator using high Lux RGB LEDs. A simulation program, LightTools, is used for the verification of the model. An LED mounting holder containing 74 RGB LEDs is used as a basic part of its light collector. Since the light output level of current LED lamps is still far below that of conventional lamps, it is required to double the right output in order to replace a conventional illuminator with a halogen lamp. An additional cone-type reflector is installed hemispherically and the resulting structure comprises a basic collector unit. To further increase the output two collector units are connected together in series. As the result, the light output increases nearly 70% with compared to a collector with a basic structure. The system efficiency can be increased more than 8 times with compared to conventional one.

  • Redesign of the mounting system to minimize vibration of a variable displacement engine through computer simulation is considered. A three degree of freedom model is established for an in-line four-cylinder automobile engine with a three point mounting system. The engine mount locations and angles, and isolator sizes are chosen as design parameters. Constraints on isolator deformations and design parameters are imposed. The gradient projection method is utilized for optimization. Simulation studies show significant vibration reduction can be obtained especially at idling speed.

  • When environmental changes are occured, the analytic approaches to the reset and compensation of a optical system are presented. It is shown that the temperature change is the most irnpotant factor among the environmental changes, and useful discussion for athermalization were given. Finally we could obtain thermally stable Tessar system by optimization of mounting structure and materials.

  • PCB assembly is a complicated and difficult process to optimize due to the necessity of simultaneous consideration of rack assignment and board mounting sequencing. An efficient component mounting method is developed using component gathering phenomenon. It is found that same components are located closely each other by checking PCBs in field and interviewing PCB designers. A new method counting this phenomenon is developed and it is performed better with more number of total components and more number of gathered components cases. Simulation models are developed using Visual C++ for performance evaluation of the heuristic.

  • This study presents an investigation of the characteristics of piezoelectric sensors whose main utilization is to measure impact pressure. The piezoelectric sensors were tested from several points of view. Their characteristics were investigated for repeatability, the effect of the diameter, temperature effect, water purity, flush mounting, and AC and DC coupling. Out of these, it was revealed that the temperature effect is very significant. The characteristics of the AC and DC coupling are also very important in understanding the time history of the impact pressure.

  • NAND flash memory-based embedded systems are becoming increasingly common. These embedded systems have to provide a fast boot time. In this paper, we have designed and proposed a flash file system for embedded systems that require fast booting. By using a Flash Image Area, which keeps the latest flash memory information such as types and status of all blocks, the file system mounting time can be reduced significantly. We have shown by experiments that our file system outperforms YAFFS and RFFS.

  • More recently, workers and passengers of casualties has increased by rear-end collisions of unexpected while working on the road. Recently attracted air chamber TMA mounting car accidents which occurred in 3 years, and analyzed the effect of reducing the shock absorption and protection performance and casualties. There is a risk of the vehicle AIS4 more injury of high five accidents of casualties risk, also, was the analysis that there is risk of death was avoided by the air chamber TMA and SGT. Therefore, by mounting the TMA in the rear-end accident, so you can reduce the death and casualties, it must be increased this of attach rate for road construction vehicle.

  • The procedure to design the engine mount is briefly discussed and the optimum shape design process of engine mounting rubber using a parametric approach is suggested. An optimization code is developed to determine the shape to meet the stiffness requirements of engine mounts, coupled with the commercial nonlinear finite element program ABAQUS. A bush type engine mount used in a current passenger car is chosen for an application model. The shape from the result of the parameter optimization is determined as a final model with some modifications. The shape and stiffness of each optimization stage are shown and the stiffness of the optimized model along the principal direction is compared with the design specification of the current model. Finally, an overview of the current status and future works for the engine mount design are discussed.

  • We have studied on the frictional characteristics for mounting rubbers varieties structures on the automotive engine. This paper are using a test apparatus developed in the laboratory, friction and wear characteristics of various rubbers have been analyzed by experimental study. Frictional characteristics has been measured from the normal force and friction force under various operating conditions, such as, loads, speed and temperatures. Therefore, the rubbers are used in a several varieties structures as well as automotive, the relations between the various conditions and frictional characteristics have been investigated.

  • The optimal mounting system for reciprocating comperssor supported on a flexible is designed. Four short hollow rubber cylinders are used as mounting pads, and so the thickness, diameter, height and location of the rubber mounts are considered as design parameters. The optimal mounts parameters which give the smallest force transmittance, are obtained by Constrained Rosenbrock Method.
