지역환경문제 참여를 통한 환경의식 변화와 지역공동체 형성 (The Changes of Environmental Consciousness and the Formation of a Local Community through Participating in a Local Problem)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand what kind of effects a local residents’ participation on a local environmental problem has on the Environmental consciousness of the resident, and on the local community. I (researcher) employed qualitative research methods on the residents' environmental movement, which claimed to preserve the Sung Mi Mountain from the Seoul City Hall's plan of the water reservoir construction. I tried to understand the participation motivation and participating actions, and also the changes and effects the participation brought at both a personal, and community level. The data were gathered by means of in-depth interview with the local residents and unstructured questionnaire. At first, through the residents' environmental movement, the participants acquired a growth in environmental consciousness. For example, they obtained better understanding of the environment, change of attitude to environment, and participation function. Secondly, it is meaningful that a local tie intervened by the environment, enforced self-governing, and shows how community sentiment plays an important role for local community organization. Moreover, the environmental movement contributed to developing a ‘culture for participation’. In conclusion, participating in a local environmental problem can be an integration of learning and practice and also leads to reflective thinking about the relationship not only between human beings and nature, but also among human beings. In addition, it can buildup a systemic cooperation for local problem-solving and the ability to make an alternative culture in the community. These are the significances of the local environmental problem-participation on the environmental education.

Responding to the Spectral Voice of the Outcast: Reading of William Wordsworth's "The Thorn"

  • William Wordsworth's "The Thorn" revolves around the following questions: Who is Martha? Why does she go to the mountain top and repeat her doleful cry? To these questions, it gives us two different kinds of answers; one derives from the villagers, and the other from the narrator. This essay attempts to examine how the answers exemplify two different critical approaches to the problem of community, using Jacques Lacan's account of sexual difference in his seminar on Encore as a guiding thread of analysis. The important thing to retain here is that sexual difference in Lacan's seminar on Encore does not so much indicate biological determinations as two distinct forms of relating to the other which are intimately bound up with the question of how a community is constructed and maintained. The first form, called "masculine," suggests that it is a radical exception to a community that makes possible the community as a field of totality or sameness; the second form, called "feminine," shows that each of the subjects cannot be regarded as a member of a closed community which is guaranteed by the exceptionality, but as an exception that is radically singular. This in turn leads us to consider the possibility that the masculine form has to do with the villagers' effort to distinguish themselves from Martha and the feminine form with the way in which the narrator confronts and represents her. In the course of his formulation of sexuation graph, Lacan stresses that the masculine side must be supplemented by the feminine side, which allows us to elaborate on why, concerning Martha, the narrator does not just keep the completely different position from the villagers'. This is to say that the villagers' representation of Martha as an exception to the community should be supplemented by the narrator's attempt to tell Martha's story as the villagers do and at the same time to capture something of her enigmatic unrepresentability. Bearing in mind Charles Shepherdson's elaboration of traumatic memory, this essay also tries to clarify how the narrator preserves and even transmits something of Martha's truth that is embodied in her uncontrollable and unassimilable cry.

덕유산 국립공원 거칠봉 일대 삼림식생의 군락분포에 관한 연구 (Community Distribution on Forest Vegetation of the Geochilbong Area in the Deogyusan National Park, Korea)

  • 덕유산 국립공원 거칠봉(해발고도 1,177 m) 일대 삼림식생은 산지삼림식생과 평지삼림식생으로 대별되어있다. 산지삼림식생은 산지낙엽활엽수림, 산지습성림, 산지침엽수림, 아고산침엽수림, 식재림 등으로 세분되었으며, 평지 삼림식생은 하반림이 조사되었다. 상관대분류에 의하여 구분된 산지삼림식생의 분포군락수는 산지낙엽활엽수림 32개 군락, 산지습성림 21개 군락, 산지침엽수림 12개 군락, 식재림 24개 군락, 기타 3개 군락의 총 93개 군락이 조사되었다. 조사된 주요 군락의 분포 비율을 보면 산지낙엽활엽수림은 신갈나무군락이 14,506,698.40m2의 29.14%로 가장 높은 분포 비율로 조사되었고, 굴참나무군락이 3,212,815.95m2의 6.45%, 졸참나무군락 2,280,970.50m2 4.58%로 3개 군락이 전체의 40.17%를 차지하고 있었으며, 산지습성림은 들메나무군락과 층층나무군락이 전체의 1.62%, 1.43%로 거칠봉 일대의 산지습성림은 들메나무와 층층나무군락이 전체의 3.05%로 대부분을 차지하고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 산지침엽수림은 소나무군락이 전체의 7.94%로서 대부분의 산지침염수림은 소나무 1종이 상층부에서 우점종으로 나타나는 군락의 양상을 나타내고 있다. 식재림은 일본잎갈나무가 식재림 전체의 4.66%로 가장 많이 식재되었으며, 리기다소나무가 2.33%, 잣나무가 2.18%로 3개 수종이 전체의 9.17%로 대부분이 이들 3종에 의하여 식재되어졌다. 결론적으로 덕유산 국립공원 거칠봉 일대 삼림식생은 신갈나무, 졸참나무, 굴참나무, 들메나무, 층층나무, 소나무 등 소수의 수종이 최상층부의 우점종으로 분포하고 있으며 2종에 의하여 형성된 수많은 군락들은 식생천이 및 기후적 요인에 의하여 이 지역 일대의 극상수종인 신갈나무, 서나무, 들메나무 등으로 군락 대체가 예상된다. 그러나 아고산침엽수림은 기후온난화와 인위적 교란에 의하여 점차적으로 낙엽활엽수의 분포비율이 증가할 것으로 보인다.

대구 비슬산지 내 지형자원의 활용방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Use Planning of Geomorphic Resources within Biseulsan(Mt. Biseul), in Daegu City)

  • 비슬산에는 천연기념물 제435호인 비슬산 암괴류를 비롯하여 다양한 화강암 지형이 발달한다. 대견사지 그리고 인근 정상부 고위평탄면에 발달한 참꽃 군락은 비슬산을 찾는 탐방객들에게 많은 문화 생태적 볼거리를 제공해준다. 본 연구에서는 비슬산지에 분포하는 지형자원들을 대상으로 탐방객들의 속성에 따라 몇 가지 유형의 학습 탐방로를 개발하였다. 1) 비슬산 주 등산로를 따라 다양한 화강암 지형이 분포한다(암괴류-나마-박리-다각형균열-애추-핵석-판상절리-토르-수직 암벽-고위평탄면). 2) 비슬산에 발달하는 지형자원들을 대상으로 각 지형의 명칭, 형성원인, 특성 등에 대한 쉽고도 상세한 학습 자료(설명문)를 개발하였다. 3) 비슬산 탐방객이 주로 이용하는 주 등산로를 대상으로 탐방객들의 동선을 고려하여 가장 효율적인 학습장과 학습 탐방로를 개발하였다. 4) 학습효과를 극대화하기 위하여 탐방객들의 유형별 체류 시간별에 따라 세 종류의 학습 탐방로를 개발하였다.

금정산성 등산로 주변 식생의 생태적 특성 평가 (Assessment on Ecological Characteristics of Vegetation in the Trail of Area Adjacent to GeumJeong Mountain Fortress)

  • This study are Geumjung mountain fortress of the Busan Metropolitan City in the north gate of the East gate around the trail to identify the vegetation structure importance value, dominance, species diversity, similarity index analysis. Results of the study, plot on the western slopes elevation 423-636m, slopes of $15{\sim}20^{\circ}$ slope areas, Pinus densiflora, Pinus thunbergii, Quercus acutissima, Pinus thunbergii, Pinus rigida, Carpinus coreana, Quercus mongolica are fulfilling a community. Trees layer a height 8~12m, coverage 40~70%, sub-trees layer the height 3~7m, coverage 10~80%, shrubs layer the height 0.8~1.5m, coverage 20-30%, herb layer the height 0.1~0.5m, coverage 5-10% were in the range of plot in the east slope elevation 452-647m, slopes in the slope of $5-30^{\circ}$ and Pinus rigida, Pinus thunbergii, Pinus densiflora, Quercus mongolica, Quercus dentata, Carpinus coreana is fulfilling a community. The trees layer height 8~13m, coverage 0~70%, sub-trees layer the height 2~6m, coverage 0~80%, shrubs layer the height 0.8~1.5m, coverage 20-40%, herb layer the height 0.1-0.5m, coverage 5-40% were in the range. The survey showed to be in relatively good vegetation, but in some areas of Pinus rigida, Quercus acutissima, as was predicted in succession, the shrub layer in the plot of some dominated vine plants and vegetation management will be needed for this purpose respectively.

TWINSPAN 및 DCCA에 의한 한반도(韓半島) 주목림(林)의 군락(群落)과 환경(環境)의 상관관계(相關關係) 분석(分析) (The Analysis of Vegetation-Environment Relationship of the Taxus cuspidata Forests by TWINSPAN and DCCA)

  • 한반도(韓半島) 고산지대(高山地帶)에 자생(自生)하는 주목림에 대한 군락(群落)과 환경(環境)과의 상관관계(相關關係)를 구명(究明)하기 위하여 중요치(重要値)와 TWINSPAN 및 DCCA 방법(方法)에 의하여 분석(分析)을 하였던 바, 그 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 주목의 지역별(地域別), 층위별(層位別) 중요치(重要値)는 상층(上層)에서 대부분 100이상 높게 나타났으나 지리산(智異山), 한라산(漢拏山) 지역은 비교적 낮게 나타났으며, 중층(中層)은 상층(上層)에 비하여 낮은 값이었고 지리산(智異山) 지역(地域)에서는 전혀 출현(出現)되지 않았다. 하층(下層)에서는 한라산(漢拏山), 오대산(五帶山), 소백산(小白山) 지역(地域)에서만 출현(出現)하였으며 중요치(重要値)도 10 내외(內外)로 낮은 값이었다. TWINSPAN에 의한 군락(群落) 분류(分類)는 주목 - 털야광나무, 주목 - 분비나무, 주목 - 구상나무, 주목 - 고로쇠나무, 주목 - 둥근잎참빗살나무 등(等) 5개 그룹으로 나누어졌다. 분류(分類)된 5개(個) 그룹과 환경요인(環境要因)들과의 관계(關係)를 보면 주목 - 구상나무 군락(群落)은 해발고(海拔高)가 다른 군락(群落)들 보다 상대적으로 높은 산정(山頂)의 동향(東向)에 주로 분포(分布)하고 있고, 주목 - 고로쇠나무 군락(群落)과 주목 - 분비나무 군락(群落)은 해발고(海拔高)가 다른 군락(群落)들 보다 상대적으로 낮은 산복부에 주로 분포하고 있으며, 주목-둥근잎참빗살나무 군락은 해발고가 상대적으로 높은 산정(山頂)의 북(北) 동향(東向)에, 주목 - 털야광나무 군락(群落)은 해발고(海拔高)가 중간(中間)정도인 능선부(稜線部)의 남(南) 서향(西向)에 분포(分布)하는 것으로 나타났다. 군락(群落)과 환경요인(環境要因)과의 관계(關係)는 제1축에서 방위(方位), 지형(地形), 해발고(海拔高)가 제2축에서는 해발고(海拔高), 경사도(傾斜度) 등(等)과 상관관계(相關關係)가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

Responses of an herbaceous community to wild boar (Sus scrofa coreanus Heude) disturbance in a Quercus mongolica forest at Mt. Jeombong, Korea

  • This research identified a disturbance regime caused by wild boar in a mature Quercus mongolica forest and analyzed the impact of this disturbance on the structure and distribution of herbaceous plants in Mt. Jeombong, Korea. We demonstrate that disturbance by wild boar was most frequent from winter to early spring, but also occurred year round. Areas which were frequently disturbed by wild boar included the mountain ridge, the mild slope on the north face, and sites with high concentration of Erythronium japonicum. The disturbance cycle by the wild boar in this region was estimated at approximately 2.8 years. The wild boar's reduced the community's species diversity and herbaceous coverage, and increased its evenness. This disturbance reduced the coverage of spring ephemeral; Veratrum nigrum var. ussuriense, Symplocarpus niponnicus, Anemone koraiensis and Corydalis turtschaninovii were particularly sensitive. In addition, summer green herbaceous plants such as Astilbe chinensis, Ainsliaea acerifolia, Meehania urticifolia, and Pimpinella brachycarpa were sensitive to the wild boar's. It was found that wild boar ate E. japonicum most selectively of all plants in this investigation area. In conclusion, together with micro-topography, wind, formation of gaps of a forest and rearrangement of litter layer, wild boar's disturbance is an important factor influencing the dynamic changes of an herbaceous community in a mature temperate hardwood forest.

Growing Environment Characteristics and Vegetation Structure of Daphne Pseudomezereum var. Koreana Native Habitats in Korea

  • Daphne pseudomezereum var. koreana is an endangered deciduous shrub distributed in mountain areas that is vulnerable to climate change. The purpose of this study was to provide foundational data on the physical characteristics, soil environment, and vegetation structure of habitats of Daphne pseudomezereum var. koreana habitat in Korea in order to help with management decisions on ecosystem restoration. Rock exposure was 15 to 35%, with an average of 24%. The native habitat of D. pseudomezereum included 129 taxa consisting of 46 families and 95 genera. Two-way cluster analysis divided the habitat into three plant communities: Community I (dominaterd by Tilia amurensis and Quercus mongolica), Community II (dominaterd by Fraxinus rhynchophylla and Acer pseudosieboldianum), and Community III (dominaterd by Ulmus davidiana var. japonica). The diversity indices for Communities I, II, and III were 1.124, 1.047 and 0.932, respectively. The soils were loam or clay loam. Soil pH, organic matter content, and available phosphoric acid were 5.40, 14.38%, and 31.08 ppm, respectively. Ordination analysis resulted that most significant factors influencing D. pseudomezereum distribution were magnesium content of soil, shrub layer, and altitude.

일본 도쿄지역 프리스쿨 사례의 시설이용현황 조사연구 (A Study on the Architectural Facilities Utilization of Free Schools of Tokyo in Japan)

  • Under recent educational and social backgrounds, alternative education schools are increasing continuously, to compare Japanese example that experience of similar circumstance given before with the investigation of general present condition, specialized education contents, facilities and utilization of 5 schools of Tokyo area, I could know following contents ; First, free schools of Tokyo area were operated by individual education type that consider each student's special quality maximum comparing with Korea's alternative schools which seek community education type. Second, there were not many schools which prescribe school personal allowance per division or class comparing with our cases that operate divides step by equal class with general school and prescribes personal allowance by class, and whole students are generally about $20{\sim}30$. Third, comparing with our cases that are located in mountain and rural area according to profitable locational conditions for environment and experience studying, it was general which islocatedin downtown for the purpose of free attending school of non attending school students. Fourth, usually, comparing with our that unused schools in mountain and rural area are general for alternative school and there were a lot of cases that uses small building of downtown such as lease office, unused warehouse and factory for free school of Tokyo area.

한국에서의 자생 복분자딸기 분포 및 자생지의 생태적 특성 (Distribution and Ecological Characteristics of Native Rubus coreanus in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 한국의 전체(울릉도와 제주도를 제외)를 대상으로 복분자딸기 군락의 자생지 조사를 수행한 결과이다. 복분자딸기의 전형적인 자생지에 24개 방형구를 선정하여 조사한 결과, 식생지 유형은 사면 노방지, 2차 천이지, 사면 훼손지, 엄정 보호지 및 가혹한 환경지 등으로 조사되었다. 복분자딸기 자생지 일대의 소산식물상은 71과 155속 18변종 1품종 199종 총 218분류군으로 나타났으며 그 가운데 80.74%가 다년생 식물로 나타났고 국화과 식물이 7.80%로 출현빈도가 가장 높았다.
