This study was performed to investigate relation between riparian vegetation and environmental factor and to predict riparian vegetation succession in Nakdong river, which is typical sand river in Korea Peninsula. We searched 5 natural levee and installed 84 quadrats in Nakdong river near by Andong city. Also, We analyzed flora, vegetation cover degree, topography, soil moisture, organic content, pH, electrical conductivity and soil texture. According to the result of CCA (canonical correspondence analysis), which considered both investigated vegetation data and environmental factor, vegetation were divided down three groups, and each group was difference by height above ordinary water level, organic content and sand. In addition, the most powerful factor was indicated the height above ordinary water level.
Industrial robots are powerful, extremely accurate multi-jointed systems, but they are heavy and highly rigid because of their mechanical structure and motorization. Therefore, sharing the robot working space with its environment is problematic. A novel pneumatic artificial muscle actuator (PAM actuator) has been regarded during the recent decades as an interesting alternative to hydraulic and electric actuators. Its main advantages are high strength and high power/weight ratio, low cost, compactness, ease of maintenance, cleanliness, readily available and cheap power source, inherent safety and mobility assistance to humans performing tasks. The PAM is undoubtedly the most promising artificial muscle for the actuation of new types of industrial robots such as Rubber Actuator and PAM manipulators. However, some limitations still exist, such as the air compressibility and the lack of damping ability of the actuator bring the dynamic delay of the pressure response and cause the oscillatory motion. In addition, the nonlinearities in the PAM manipulator still limit the controllability. Therefore, it is not easy to realize motion with high accuracy and high speed and with respect to various external inertia loads in order to realize a human-friendly therapy robot To overcome these problems a novel controller, which harmonizes a phase plane switching control method with conventional PID controller and the adaptabilities of neural network, is newly proposed. In order to realize satisfactory control performance a variable damper - Magneto-Rheological Brake (MRB) is equipped to the joint of the manipulator. Superb mixture of conventional PID controller and a phase plane switching control using neural network brings us a novel controller. This proposed controller is appropriate for a kind of plants with nonlinearity uncertainties and disturbances. The experiments were carried out in practical PAM manipulator and the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm was demonstrated through experiments, which had proved that the stability of the manipulator can be improved greatly in a high gain control by using MRB with phase plane switching control using neural network and without regard for the changes of external inertia loads.
In this paper, we review and classify shopping information services for electronic commerce in Korea. Shopping information services for electronic commerce can be divided into shopping mall information service and product information service. Shopping mall information service simply shows and suggests information on the shopping malls that it has in its data store. But product information service provides information about the items of the shopping malls the service has and therefore gives more powerful and convenient interfaces to users. Cutting-edge product information services can perform online comparison shopping facility, which searches and compares the items what the users want on the reasonable basis of economical criteria, such as price. Books, CDs, and Personal Data Assistant(PDA)s are the products of which the specification is clear enough to be described on the Web. And the comparison of the products by the information service is performed on the basis of "price" of the product item. The approach to design and implement product information service can be divided into two categories. The one is an application of data warehousing mechanism, which stores the product information on the regular basis of time and provide it when the users query over the Web-database gateway. The other approach is a shopping agent mechanism, which stores information on "how to shop" and the shopping agent collects the information of product items just after users query about the product and provide the information in real time or notify them by alerting service. Thirty nine shopping information services are compared and classified in this paper and they are extracted from "Naver" and "Yahoo! Korea". The final result shows that most services are just a simple shopping mall information service in growing stage, product information services with data warehousing are lack in product ontology in middle stage, and that product information services with shopping agent are in early stage.
The costume originated from the idea that it could protect human beings from ferocious beasts. The military costume was from protection against an enemy equipped with weapons. Furthermore, the makers of the costume were afraid of supernatural powers and it made them devise an armour and decorate it by the concept of superstition for the purpose of overcoming it. The function of military uniform was important for increasing the protection against any enemies while they join in battle. However in harmonious time, it represented artwork of peace, dignity, and order. Since the uniform was a king of symbol to show their position, and their role. They could feel proud as a member of a military group they belong to and they gain honor, courage, patriotic sentiment through their military costume. The purpose of this study was to investigate the originality the military costume as it changed and developed continuously from ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome to modern times. This study was performed to show the comparison and characteristic marks of the past, and the influence of them on the modern military uniform. The method used in this study was using past manuscripts of the early times, information attained from domestic and foreign military documents and previously written reports. As a result, the military costume was one of many means of expression of their natural and social environment. It can be said that the most epoche-marking and powerful changes to the social environment are revolution or war. War absolutely has influenced on the changes of the changes of costume and the military armour according to the type of war and the development of weapons. Especially using the amour, the main purpose that of protecting the body has changed into distinguishing our forces from the enemy and instilling fear into enemy, Furthermore, the class who has the power has used it in order to express their power and dignity. Therefore, armour had required two rules to not only protect the body but also discriminating between classes.
The goal of this study was to examine the relationship between teachers' efficacy belief and interactions between teachers and children of childcare teachers, and utilize the results as the basic data to educate of teachers. The subjects were 205 teachers at 48 childcare centers located in the Jeonlabukdo area. The results of this study are as follows: First, personal teaching efficacy and factors of interactions between teachers and children were significantly different by the types of childcare institution. Second, personal teaching efficacy was correlated positively with teachers' experiences. General teaching efficacy, personal teaching efficacy and factors of interactions between teachers and children were correlated positively with teachers' age. Third, factors of interactions between teachers and children were correlated positively with personal teaching efficacy. Lastly, personal teaching efficacy was the most powerful variable influencing interactions between teachers and children.
This study aims to find out the relationship of customer behavioral intention and marketing variables such as service quality and customer satisfaction which are regarded as its determinants. And then this study has suggested what service factors shall be emphasized to induce the latent customers. And it has grouped strategic Schemes on which service variables shall be focused to enhance the existing customer behavioral intentions. This study has found, to the existing customers, only physical environments among 3 dimension components of Service quality significantly affects to the Behavioral intentions. Priorly, marketing efforts, namely, expansion of convenient facilities such as special berth construction is necessary. To the latent customer, service delivery is the most powerful factor to the behavioral intentions. Consequently, frequency of cruise calling, Facilities of shopping and eating, issues and their development of cruise goods and publicity and promotions are needed.
Data visualization has become a useful tool to effectively communicate information and is widely used not only by experts but also at a general level. However, it is dangerous that it is as efficient as it is to transmit false information. All data visualizations have hidden intent with powerful messages by editor. Building a system that grasps these intentions helps to understand the thoughts of groups and individuals. Most of the existing research focuses on effective data visualization methods and methods of expression. The more various visualization methods, the more likely the data will be distorted. In this paper, we present an analysis of deceptive data visualization in a goal-oriented environment. Based on the vulnerability of human cognitive processing, we classify the attack types and identify what tricks occur in the context of data visualization. This study suggests the first step in studying the case of aggressive visualization and opens the way for further research.
This study was carried out to find the influencing factors on the acceptance of vaccination of viral hepatitis type B. Two groups of students, 362 undergraduates of Korea University were surveyed for research. The compliant group was 156 students who were inoculated with viral hepatitis type B shot more than one time. The non-compliant group was 206 students who were not inoculated. The measures used for this study were Multidimensional Health Locus of Control Scales and the one developed by the researcher on the basis of literature review about Health Belief Model. The results of this stuby were as follows. The awareness on health of the compliant group was higher than that of the non-compliant group(t=0.39, P<0.05), And perceived barrier of the compliant group was lower than that of the non-compliant group(t=0.35, P<0.05). But the knowledge about the viral hepatitis type B of the compliant group was lower than that of the non-compliant group(t=2.49, P<0.05). There were no differences between two groups in the perceived susceptibility of the hepatitis and the perceived benifit of the hepatitis vaccination. There was no difference between two groups in terms of the Inner Health Locus of Control (HLOC) and Chance HLOC. On the other hand Powerful-Others HLOC of the compliant group was higher than that of the non-compliant group(t=3.67, P<0.05). 'Parent's advice' was found to be the major answer to the motive of being vaccinated in the compliant group. This explains that the most influencial factor in determining one's health behavior is the parent's opinion. Answers to the question of the reason of not being vaccinated were, 'did not want to bother' and 'did not care yet' in order. As a whole, except for the awareness on health and the perceived barrier of the hepatitis vaccination, this study result shows disagreement with the past investigations on the inter-relationship between one's health belief or Health Locus of Control and the health behavior. The author of this study believes this was due to the limitation in the survey group's particular homogenity.

The reason that we are familiar with fashion from the 1950s is because of the work such as New Look done by a french fashion designer, Christian Dior who had taken on an almost mythical significance by his name. Moreover, in the sense of popularity, the appearance of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn, two typical Hollywood actresses who each has directly-opposed image, is the symbol of youthful America of the 1950s and represents the remarkable start of the American fashion. Still, these days designers and mass medias recall the fashion from the 50s remaking and parodying it to suit public's taste. Being due to the World War II, Europe suffered not only the loss of its national tradition and reputation but also got a fatal blow politically and economically. On the other hand, the United States of America occupied a primary position in the world and outstandingly became the most powerful country. The American fashion of the 1950s represents youth and newness and rejects outdated and outmoded style. In this period, appears the indication which announces previously the youth culture. Poodle skirt is the fashion item that acquired popularity among young american women and girls in the late 1950s. In effect, it is the fashion as American as apple pie. A costly A-line skirt had been transformed into a cheap felt skirt. This study investigates the level of customers' preferences for the menu at rice cake cafes. The study aims at examining the potential of restaurants with rice cake dishes and suggesting the ways to contribute to the potential. For this study, various rice cake cafes in Seoul which were often mentioned in the Internet portal sites and mass media are selected such as Jilsilu, Midan, Yaemunbyeonggwa, and Howeondang. Some of the customers in these rice cake cafes from August 16th to 26th in 2005 are the participants in this study. Using Windows SPSS 11.0 for statistical analysis, the validity of the items in the questionnaire is tested through Cronbach's Alpha which also reveals the internal reliability. Variables are analysed to eliminate less important variables. In order to examine the differences between groups by norm population profiles, t-test and ANOVA are conducted. For obtaining the degree of impact of rice cake cafe preference variables on the satisfaction in the rice cake cafe, regression analysis is carried out. As a result, for preferences for dishes, 19 variables among 22 are identified and divided into four factors which are named as 1) fundamental factor, 2) external factor, 3) appearance factor, and 4) structural factor. The fundamental factor, external factor, appearance factor, and structural factor are all significantly influential to the level of satisfaction with the menu, yet the fundamental factor is the most powerful factor among them.
