The solution polymerization was conducted to synthesize pressure sensitive adhesive for polarizer film using acrylic monomers. 2-Ethylhexyl acrylate, butyl acrylate, acrylic acid were used as acrylic monomers, benzoyl peroxide as initiator, ethyl acetate as solvent. The ratio of monomers was 2-ethylhexyl acrylate: butyl acrylate: acrylic acid = 25:50:3.6 reflecting $-40^{\circ}C$ of glass transition temperature in the pressure sensitive adhesive. The amount of initiator was determined as 0.09% to monomer considering wetting power and initial tackiness. The ratio of monomer to solvent was determined as 1:1.7 considering wetting power and transmissivity. The transmissivity of pressure sensitive adhesive increased with decreasing both viscosity and molecular weight due to reducing of refractive index by low entanglement between molecules. In the measurement of pot life, it was found that the storage stability was good at 1:1.7 of monomer: solvent without large change of viscosity during 200 min.
Radical copolymerization behavior of 4'-vinylbenzo-15-crown-5, a vinyl monomer having a pendant 15-membared crown ether unit (VCE) with di(ethylene glycol) ethyl ether acrylate (DEGEEA) was carried out in toluene solution using 2,2-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as an initiator. The copolymers were characterized by means of FT-IR, $^1{H-NMR}$, and $^{13}{C-NMR}$ . The reactivity ratio of VCE and DEGEEA, determined by Fineman-Ross and Kelen-Tudos method, gave values 0.55 for VCE, and 0.11 for DEGEEA respectively.

The characteristics of liquid crystal polymer composite(LCPC) films are possessed of large-area and flexible display, polarizer free, high contrast, wide angle of visual filed and high responsiveness. It is well known that the LCPC films consisting of a continuous LC phase embeded in a three-dimentional network of polymer matrix are formed by photopolymerization-induced phase separation. In this study, we have investigated the point that both liquid crystals and polymer having different properties have to coexiste as composed films. The purpose of this study has been the development of new application with liquid crystals and UV-curable monomers. In the results abtained on the miscibility of nematic liquid crystal and UV-curable resins, difunctional monomer HX-620 turned out to shows the best. From the results abtained on structures, electro-optical properties and dynamic visocoelasticity for LCPC films, the best mixing ratio of monomer to LC mixture were 3/7(photoinitiator; 4wt%) by weight, and this ratio has been provided the most thermal stability for LCPC films. In the results abtained on structure and discoloration properties of LCPC films, it has been demonstrated that consiste of a 8:2 mixture of chiral nematic liquid crystal and HX-620 has the greatest domain and it was the best discoloration.

We have developed new materials that lead to methyl meth acrylate monomer and styrene monomer to using polymerization method. The materials have a powder form and show liquid behavior. We call the "Electronic Bead". An our experiment, a positive-charged particle has $TiO_2$, polymer and CCA(-), while a negative-charged particle consists of carbon black, polymer and CCA(+). The charged particles have electrical characteristic of white -10 uC/g and black 10 uC/g, respectively. Also, these particles have good fluidity by additive of nano-sized silica. Using these materials, we demonstrated prototype displays that have $320{\times}320$ array of pixels and 6-in-diagonal viewable image size, driven by passive-matrix addressing. The reflectivity shows about 30% even though our experiment is at the beginning point. Also, the panel has contrast ratio 6:1. We think there are many chances to improve reflectivity through modifying components of particle resin, mixture ratio of each particle, panel structure and so on.
Uniform sized-porous poly(acrylonitrile-ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) (PAN) microgels were synthesized by seed polymerization using monodisperse polystyrene seed particles. The effect of weight ratios of monomer/seed (M/S) and diluent/monomer (DIM), concentration of crosslinking agent and the type of diluent was investigated on the formation of PAN microgels. The particle size distribution of PAN microgels was found to be monodisperse in that the weight ratio of M/S is less than 50. More porous microgels were formed and the interstices between small sized interior microspheres present inside of PAN microgels were also smaller with increasing crosslinking agent concentration. Well-developed pore structure was found to be in that weight ratio of D/M is 1 and toluene is used as a diluent.
Fate of the nascent thyrolglobulin (Tg) molecule is characterized by multimerization. To establish the formation of Tg multimers, the partially unfolded/reduced Tg or deoxycholate-treated/ reduced Tg was subjected to protein disulfide isomerase (PDI)-mediated multimerization. Oxidized glutathione/PDI-mediated formation of multimeric Tg forms, requiring at least an equivalent molar ratio of PDI/Tg monomer, decreased with increasing concentration of reduced glutathione (GSH), suggesting the oxidizing role of PDI. Additional support was obtained when PDI alone, at a PDI/Tg molar ratio of 0.3, expressed a rapid multimerization. Independently, the exposure of partially unfolded Tg to GSH resulted in Tg multimerization, enhanced by PDI, according to thiol-disulfide exchange. Though to a lower extent, a similar result was observed with the dimerization of deoxycholate-pretreated Tg monomer. Consequently, it is implied that intermolecular disulfide linkage may be facilitated at a limited region of unfolded Tg. In an attempt to examine the multimerization site, the cysteine residue-rich fragments of the Tg were subjected to GSH-induced multimerization; a 50 kDa fragment, containing three vicinal dithiols, was multimerized, while an N-terminal domain was not. Present results suggest that the oxidase as well as isomerase function of PDI may be involved in the multimerization of partially unfolded Tg or deoxycholate-treated Tg.
Chitosan was modified by gamma radiation-induced grafting with maleic acid and then used for the removal of cobalt ions from aqueous solutions. Chitosan-g-maleic acid was characterized by Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The effect of the dose (1-5 kGy) and monomer concentration (0.3-1.3%, m/v) on the grafting ratio was examined. The adsorption kinetics and isotherms were also investigated. The results showed that the optimal dose for grafting was 2 kGy. When monomer concentration was within the range of 0.3-1.3% (m/v), the grafting ratio increased almost linearly. For the adsorption of cobalt ions by chitosan-g-maleic acid beads, the pseudo second-order kinetic model ($R^2=0.99$) and Temkin isotherm model ($R^2=0.96$) were able to fit the experimental data reasonably well. The equilibrium adsorption capacity of cobalt ions increased from 2.00 mg/g to 2.78 mg/g after chitosan modification.
Applying acrylic silane monomer for determent of weathering damage of stone cultural assets from various sources was investigated to improve inorganic affinity of polymer impregnated to the stone for conservation treatment using impregnation of acrylic polymers under pressure. Radical polymerization was carried out with various mixture ratios of methacrylate (MMA), as the base monomer, and vinyl trimethoxy silane (VTMS). Subsequently, according to the changes of glass transition temperatures, average molecular weights, and storage moduli of the obtained copolymers, the case of adding 1 wt% of benzoyl peroxide, polymerization for 8 hrs, and mixing 5 mol% of VTMS to MMA was the optimum condition of monomer ratio and polymerization. Practically, fresh granites collected in domestic site and weathered stones were treated by following the obtained result above, and then, the moisture absorption, impact, acid resistance, and adhesion properties of the treated stones were compared to those of the corresponding stones treated with MMA only. It was found that those properties of the stones treated with PMV5 were considerably improved.
In this paper, we have developed the nano carbon tile and chip which is based on a reducing process of oxidation and the viscous fluid control, after hardening to the stylene monomer and methylol acrylamide monomer using an acrylic emulsion junction material. Then we can obtain the sphere form structure of diagonal 1~3 mm, they have mixture the acrylic emulsion junction material(45%) and the coconut carbon powder(55%) of size 300~500 mesh for 25~30 min. Finally, if we have dry for the formated carbon including 30~90 minute at $90{\sim}300^{\circ}C$, then be obtained for pure carbon formation of 95%. In order to identify the safety of the friendly circumstance carbon formation, we have tested the far-infrared ratio, energy analysis, gas density and anti-disease germs experiment.

In order to analyse the properties of the fiber-adhesive that was used as Flocking process we synthesized quaterpolymer with the variation of the types of monomer ratio by emulsion polymerization. We characterized the properties of this adhesive: Differential Scanning Calorimeter(DSC), Thermogravimetry Analysis(TGA), Raman spectroscopy. The polymer was synthesized by changing the using amount of 2-EHAM, and then we investigated the characteristics of glass transition temperature(Tg), melting temperature(Tm), thermal stability and hydroxyl group respectively. The optimum monomer composition was 36.84% EAM, 15.79% MAM, 42.1% 2-EHAM and 5.26% AAc.
