The term molecular imaging can be broadly defined as the in vivo characterization and measurement of biologic processes at the cellular and molecular level. Optical imaging that has highly reproducibility and repetition used in molecular imaging research. In the bioluminescence imaging, animals carrying the luciferase gene are imaged with a cooled CCD(Charge-Coupled Device) camera to pick up the small number of photons transmitted through tissues. Molecular imaging analysis will allow us to observe the incipience and progression of the disease. But hardware device for molecular imaging and software for molecular image analysis were dependent on imports. In this paper, we suggest image processing methods and designed software for bioluminescence signal analysis. And we demonstrated high correlation(r=0.99) between our software's photon counts and commercial software's photon counts. ROI function and processing functions were accomplished without error. This study have the importance of the development software for bioluminescence image processing and analysis. And this study built the foundations for creative development of analysis methods. We expected this study lead the development of image technology.
Adhesion of a hemispherical tip to the flat surface in nano-structures is simulated using the molecular dynamics technique. The tip and plates are modeled with the Lennard-Jones molecules. The simulation focuses on the deformation of the tip. Detailed descriptions on the evolution of interaction force, the energy dissipation due to adhesion hysteresis, the forma- tion-growth-breakage of adhesive junction as well as the evolution of molecular distribution during the process are presented. The effects of the tip size, the maximum tip approach, the tip temperature, and the affinity between the tip and the mating plate are also discussed.
Molecular assembling is one of the current interests in the field of bottom-up nanotechnology. Self-assembled monolayers of sulfur-containing molecules or supramolecular assemblies via surface sol-gel processes formed on conductive supports are chemically robust and can be easily fabricated without sophisticated instruments. We have fabricated various types of molecular assemblies consisting of donor-acceptor pairs on the surfaces of gold and indium-tin-oxide electrodes. Build-up of three-dimensional multi structures consisting of thiol dyes and gold nanoparticles also has been successful. These assemblies showed clear photocurrent responses in photoelectro-chemical cells. In this article, we will describe recent progress on photoelectric conversion using molecular assemblies especially focused on our research results.
Development of molecular and supramolecular systems showing efficient photoinduced energy or electron transfer are of current research interest due to their applications in various chemical and biological processes. Various polypyridine metal complexes including Ru(II), Ru(III), Os(II), Pt(II), Fe(II), Re(I), Ir(III) and so on as a metal center introduce for expanding some more understanding of molecular-scale photoelectronics. Their complexes are concisely classified by the types of relay ligands as follows; (a) metal-direct ligand-metal system; dinuclear or trinuclear systems, (b) metal-nonconjugated ligand-metal system and metal-nonconjugated ligand system having flexible/rigid ligand, (c) metal-conjugated ligand-metal system, and (d) conjugated ligand-metal-conjugated ligand system and metal-self assembly ligand-metal system. It is pointed out that the role played by the relay ligands is important in constructing the metal complexes.
A great deal of research has been carried out in the last twenty some years to develop high temperature desulfurization. For example, the efficiency of advanced power generation processes based on the integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) can be increased significantly with high temperature desulfurization. Much of the recent high temperature desulfurization research has concentrated on zinc-based sorbents such as zinc ferrite(ZnFe$_2$O$_4$) and zinc titanate(ZnO.xTiO$_2$) due to its thermodynamic advantage in capturing H$_2$S molecules.(omitted)
A rheology casting technology has some advantages compared with conventional forming processes such as die casting, squeeze casting and hot/cold forming. The liquid segregation is important on mechanical properties of materials using rheology casting. In this study, so, molecular dynamics simulations were performed for the control of liquid segregation. Because the dynamics of fluid flow about nano-scaled materials is completely different from continuum, molecular dynamics simulations were used. The behavior of particles was far from the truth according to boundary conditions in simple flow. But various movement of particles appear at two or more molecular simulations.

Recent advances in genome and transcriptome analysis have enabled identification of numerous members of a new class of noncoding RNA, long noncoding RNA (lncRNA). lncRNAs are broadly defined as RNA molecules greater than 200 nt in length and lacking an open reading frame. Recent studies provide evidence that lncRNAs play central roles in a wide range of cellular processes through interaction with key component proteins in the gene regulatory system, and that alteration of their cell- or tissue-specific expression and/or their primary or secondary structures is thought to promote cell proliferation, invasion and metastasis. The biological and molecular characteristics of the large majority of lncRNAs remains unknown, and it is anticipated that improved understanding of the roles played by lncRNAs in cancer will lead to the development of novel biomarkers and effective therapeutic strategies.
We investigated the wearable dynamics of diamond spherical abrasive during the substrate surface polishing under the pad compression via classical molecular dynamics modeling. We performed three-dimensional molecular dynamics simulations using the Morse potential functions for the copper substrate and the Tersoff potential function for the diamond abrasive. The pad hardness had a big impact on the wearable dynamics of the abrasive. The moving speed of the abrasive decreased with increasing hardness of the pad. As the hardness decreased, the abrasive was indented into the pad and then the sliding motion of the abrasive was increased. So the pad hardness was greatly influenced on the slide-to-roll ratio as well as the wearable rate.
The process of drug discovery and development requires substantial resources and time. The drug industry has tried to reduce costs by conducting appropriate animal studies together with molecular biological and genetic analyses. Basic science research has been limited to in vitro studies of cellular processes and ex vivo tissue examination using suitable animal models of disease. However, in the past two decades new technologies have been developed that permit the imaging of live animals using radiotracer emission, X-rays, magnetic resonance signals, fluorescence, and bioluminescence. The main objective of this review is to provide an overview of small animal molecular imaging, with a focus on nuclear imaging (single photon emission computed tomography and positron emission tomography). These technologies permit visualization of toxicodynamics as well as toxicity to specific organs by directly monitoring drug accumulation and assessing physiological and/or molecular alterations. Nuclear imaging technology has great potential for improving the efficiency of the drug development process.
