The 3-dimensional grain burn-back analysis is performed using the face offsetting method for calculating the solid rocket motor performance. The grain burning configuration analysis is a moving surface problem that calculates the regression of the burning surface. In the previous study, various moving interface analysis methods were applied for the grain burn-back analysis, but the results were imperfect. In this study, a 3-dimensional grain burn-back analysis module is developed using the face offsetting method, which combines the advantages of the existing moving interface analysis methods to increase the accuracy and robustness. As a result, the face offsetting method is proved to be efficient for the grain burn-back analysis.
To minimize the negative alterations in hydrologic and water quality environment in urban areas due to urbanization, Low Impact Development (LID) techniques are actively applied. In Korea, LID facilities are classified as Non-point Pollution Reduction Facilities (NPRFs), and therefore they are evaluated using the performance evaluation method for NPRFs. However, while LID facilities are generally installed in small, distributed configuration and mainly work with the infiltration process, the existing NPRFs are installed on a large scale and mainly work with the reservoir process. Therefore, some limitations are expected in assessing both facilities using the same method as they differ in properties. To solve these problems, in this study, a new method for performance evaluation was proposed with focus on bio-retention LID facilities. EPA SWMM was used to reproduce the hydrologic and water quality phenomena in study area, and SWMM-LID module used to simulate TP interception performance by installing a bio-retention cell under various conditions through long-term simulations. Finally, an empirical formula for Load Capture Ratio (LCR) was derived based on storm water interception ratio in the same form as the existing method. Using the existing formula in estimating the LCR is likely to overestimate the performance of interception for non-point pollutants in the extremely low design capacity, and also underestimate it in the moderate and high design capacity.
A standard engineering model that reflects the current organization system and engineering operation process of domestic nuclear power plants was developed based on the Standard Nuclear Performance Model developed by the American Nuclear Energy Association. The level 0 screen, which is the main screen of the engineering model computer system, consisted of an object tree structure, which provided information that is phased down from a higher structure level to a lower structure level (i.e., level 3). The level 1 screen provided information related to the sub-process of the engineering operation, whereas the Level 2 screen provided information related to each engineering operation activity. In addition, the Level 2 screen provided additional functions, such as linking electronic procedures/guidelines, providing electronic performance forms, and connecting legacy computer systems (such as total equipment reliability monitoring system, configuration management systems, technical information systems, risk monitoring systems, regulatory information, and electronic drawing system). This screen level increased the convenience of user's engineering tasks by implementing them. The computerization of an engineering model that connects the entire engineering tasks of an establishment enables the easy understanding of information related to the engineering process before and after the operation, and builds a foundation for the enhancement of the work efficiency and employee capacity. In addition, KHNP developed an online training module, which operates as an e-learning process, on the overview and utilization of a standard engineering model to expand the understanding of standard engineering models by plant employees and to secure competitiveness.

In this study, performance modeling and simulation of a gas turbine engine, a constituent module, was performed for the integrated control of the CODOG structure, mechanical propulsion systems. The engine model used MATLAB/Simulink to facilitate integration with the host controller and other components, and was configured to enable input/output settings suitable for the system configuration and purpose. In general, engine manufacturers do not provide performance data for the engine and components. Therefore, as a modeling method for a gas turbine, a CMF method that obtains performance data by scaling the map of components was applied. Using the generated model and simulation program, steady-state and dynamic simulation analysis tests were performed, and reliability within 5% of the maximum error was secured for the final output of power.

This study attempted to detect possible collapse and fire accidents in facilities for disaster monitoring of large facilities, and to develop a customized beacon to recognize the internal situation of an IoT-based facility when a disaster occurs. In the case of data measurement using the existing strain gauge sensor, the strain gauge sensor was connected by wire to measure it, but this study changed it to wireless so that the presence and absence of structural deformation can be monitored in real time. In this process, in order to use the Wheatstone bridge, a strain sensor module that can be connected to a customized beacon was manufactured, and a system configuration was conducted to remotely check the measurement data. To verify measurement data, 10 customized beacons and 2 gateways were installed on the 15th floor of the Advanced Institue of Convergence Technology, and as a result of analysis of measurement data, it was confirmed that the strain data values were distributed between 7 and 8.

Demands for eco-friendly food materials are increasing rapidly because of increased interest in well-being and health care, deterioration of air quality due to fine dust, and various soil and water pollution. Aquaponics is a system that can solve various problems such as economic activities, environmental problems, and safe food provision of the elderly population. However, techniques for deriving the optimal growth environment should be preceded. In this paper, we intend to design an intelligent plant growth measurement system that considers the characteristics of existing aquaponics. In particular, we would like to propose a module configuration plan for learning data and judgment systems when providing a uniform growth environment, focusing on designing systems suitable for production sites that do not have high-performance processing resources among intelligent aquaponics production management modules. It is believed that the proposed system can effectively perform deep learning with small analysis resources.

Participation in power trading using surplus power is considered a business model active in the domestic energy trade market, but it is limited only if the legal requirements according to the type, capacity, and use of the facilities to be applied for are satisfied. The hydrogen residential demonstration model presented in this paper includes solar power, energy storage system (ESS), fuel cell, and water electrolysis facilities in electrical facilities for private use with low-voltage power receiving system. The concept of operations strategy for this model focuses on securing the energy self-sufficiency ratio of the entire system, securing economic feasibility through the optimal operation module installed in the energy management system (EMS), and securing the stability of the internal power balancing issue during the stand-alone mode. An electric facility configuration method of a hydrogen residential complex demonstrated to achieve this operational goal has a structure in which individual energy sources are electrically connected to the main bus, and ESS is also directly connected to the main bus instead of a renewable connection type to perform charging/discharging operation for energy balancing management in the complex. If surplus power exists after scheduling, participation in power trading through reverse transmission parallel operation can be considered to solve the energy balancing problem and ensure profitability. Consequentially, this paper reviews the legal regulations on participation in electric power trading using surplus power from hydrogen residential models that can produce and consume power, gas, and thermal energy including hybrid distributed power sources, and suggests action plans.

The market for eco-friendly food materials by online distribution is rapidly growing due to major environmental pollution such as air, soil, and water quality, and radical changes in living patterns caused by COVID-19. In addition, because of the aging population and the decrease in agricultural-related population due to social structural changes, aquaponics is emerging as a system that can solve problems such as independence of old economic activities, environmental protection, and securing healthy and safe food. This paper aims to design an intelligent plant growth measurement system among intelligent aquaponics production management modules for optimal growth environment derivation and quantitative production prediction by converging various ICT technologies into existing aquaponics systems. In particular, the focus is on designing systems suitable for production sites that do not have high-performance processing resources, and we propose a module configuration plan for production environments and training data and prediction systems.

The purpose of this study is to derive education programs for safety training class, create unit spaces and present components and methods of utilizing the spaces for the development of facilities models closely related to various policy, operation plan and facility construction projects promoted by related institutions such as the Ministry of Education, schools, architects and companies. This study is divided into five steps. First, we reviewed the literature related basic directions for safety education and facility plan, second, field survey included both field conditions such as spatial size and facility configuration and analysis of operating conditions like hours of operation and personnel. Base on literature review and field survey, it were used to analyze strengths and weaknesses of existing safety training classes, and five facility models was developed based on the Delphi method and expert participatory design. The result show that the facility models (drafts) of safety training class were developed as follows: (1)the facility model for traffic safety(pedestrian safety, vehicle safety, subway safety) (2)the facility model for first aid(emergency rescue, how to report) (3)the facility model for disaster safety(fire evacuation safety, life earthquake safety) (4)the facility model for elevator safety(elevator safety, escalator safety) (5)the facility model for drugs and violence safety (smoking drinking, sexual harassment safety, food safety) The safety training class can be composed by combining or separating each module according to affordable space size of each school.

Radiation-related practitioners and radiation-treated patients at medical institutions are inevitably exposed to radiation for diagnosis and treatment. Although standards for maximum doses are recommended by the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICPR) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), more direct and available measurement and analytical methods are necessary for optimal exposure management for potential exposure subjects such as practitioners and patients. Thus, in this study we developed a system for real-time radiation monitoring at a distance that works with existing portable device. The monitoring system comprises three parts for detection, imaging, and transmission. For miniaturization of the detection part, a scintillation detector was designed based on a silicon photomultiplier (SiPM). The imaging part uses a wireless charge-coupled device (CCD) camera module along with the detection part to transmit a radiation image and measured data through the transmission part using a Bluetooth-enabled portable device. To evaluate the performance of the developed system, diagnostic X-ray generators and sources of $^{137}Cs$, $^{22}Na$, $^{60}Co$, $^{204}Tl$, and $^{90}Sr$ were used. We checked the results for reactivity to gamma, beta, and X-ray radiation and determined that the error range in the response linearity is less than 3% with regard to radiation strength and in the detection accuracy evaluation with regard to measured distance using MCNPX Code. We hope that the results of this study will contribute to cost savings for radiation detection system configuration and to individual exposure management.
