This paper is proposed adaptive fuzzy-neural network(FNN) controller for the speed control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) drive. The design of this algorithm based on FNN controller that is implemented by using fuzzy control and neural network. This controller uses fuzzy rule as training patterns of a neural network. Also, this controller uses the back-propagation method to adjust the weights among the neurons of neural network in order to minimize the error between the command output and actual output. A model reference adaptive scheme is proposed in which the adaptation mechanism is executed by fuzzy logic based on the error and change of error measured between the motor speed and output of a reference model. The control performance of the adaptive FNN controller is evaluated by analysis for various operating conditions. The results of analysis prove that the proposed control system has strongly high performance and robustness in parameter variation, steady-state accuracy and transient response.
Kuo et al proposed an on-line method for an adaptive prediction error filter for improving secondary path modeling performance in the modeling method of the secondary path. This method have some disadvantages, namely having to use additive noise with the result that noise control performance is not good since it is focused on the estimated performance of the secondary path. In this paper, we proposes a modified Kuo model using gain control parameter and delay. It uses a reference signal for additive noise to improve the problems in the existing Kuo model.
A new control design methodology is presented here which is based on a nonlinear time-series reference model. It is indicated by highly nonlinear simulations that such designs successfully stabilize troublesome aircraft maneuvers undergoing large changes in angle of attack as well as large electric power transients due to line faults. In both applications, the nonlinear controller was significantly better than the corresponding linear adaptive controller. For the electric power network, a flexible a.c. transmission system (FACTS) with series capacitor power feedback control is studied. A bilinear auto-regressive moving average (BARMA) reference model is identified from system data and the feedback control manipulated according to a desired reference state. The control is optimized according to a predictive one-step quadratic performance index (J). A similar algorithm is derived for control of rapid changes in aircraft angle of attack over a normally unstable flight regime. In the latter case, however, a generalization of a bilinear time-series model reference includes quadratic and cubic terms in angle of attack. These applications are typical of the numerous plants for which nonlinear adaptive control has the potential to provide significant performance improvements. For aircraft control, significant maneuverability gains can provide safer transportation under large windshear disturbances as well as tactical advantages. For FACTS, there is the potential for significant increase in admissible electric power transmission over available transmission lines along with energy conservation. Electric power systems are inherently nonlinear for significant transient variations from synchronism such as may result for large fault disturbances. In such cases, traditional linear controllers may not stabilize the swing (in rotor angle) without inefficient energy wasting strategies to shed loads, etc. Fortunately, the advent of power electronics (e.g., high-speed thyristors) admits the possibility of adaptive control by means of FACTS. Line admittance manipulation seems to be an effective means to achieve stabilization and high efficiency for such FACTS. This results in parametric (or multiplicative) control of a highly nonlinear plant.

In this paper, a robust MRAC (model reference adaptive control) scheme is applied to control an electrohydraulic positioning system under various loads. The inverse dead-zone compensator in the control system cancels out the dead-zone response, and an integrator added to the controller provides good position-tracking ability. LQG/LTR (linear quadratic Gaussian control with loop transfer recovery) closed-loop model is used as the reference model for learning the MRAC system. LQG/LTR provides a systematic technique to design the linear controller that optimizes the objective function using some compromise between the control effort and the system performance in the frequency domain. Different external load tests are performed to investigate the effectiveness of the designed MRAC system in real time. The experimental results show that the tracking performance of the proposed system is highly accurate, which offers considerable robustness even with a large change in the load.
When the vector control, which does not need a speed? signal from a mechanical speed sensor, it is possible to reduce the cost of the control equipment and to improve the control performance in many industrial application. This paper describes a rotor speed identification method of induction motor based on the theory of flux model reference adaptive system. The estimator execute the rotor speed identification so that the vector control of the induction motor may be achieved. The improved auxiliary variable of the two model are introduced to perform accurate rotor speed estimation. Simulation result show the validity of the proposed control method.

The controller of a model reference adaptive control monitors the plant's inputs and outputs to acknowledge its characteristics. It then adapts itself to the characteristics it encounters instead of behaving in a fixed manner. An important part of every adaptive scheme is the adaptive law for estimating the unknown parameters on line. A more precise model is required to improve performance and to stabilize a given dynamic system, such as a satellite in which performance varies over time and the coefficients change due to disturbances, etc. After model identification, the robust controller ($H{\infty}$) is designed to stabilize the rigid body and flexible body of a satellite, which can be perturbed due to disturbance. The result obtained by the $H{\infty}$ controller is compared with that of the proportional and integration controller which is commonly used for stabilizing a satellite.

In this paper, a new adaptive control scheme is proposed that uses a special form of rational function-type linear operator in the parameter adaptation and that removes the augmenting signal terms of the control input components. This adaptation scheme is applied to the MRAC of continuous-time, linear time-invariant, minimum-phase plants whose relative degrees are arbitrary. This scheme can be applied without any change of the controller structure to the adaptive systems regardless of the relative degree if it is greater than 1. And this scheme does not require any signal augmentation for arbitrary relative-degree plants if the reference model has no zeros. The asymptotic stability of the adaptive systems controlled by this scheme is shown by a hyper-stability method.

This paper presents a new approachtothe design of adaptive control system using DSPs(TMS320C30) for robotic manipulators to achieve trajectory tracking by the joint angles. Digital signal processors are used in implementing real time adaptive control algorithms to provide an enhanced motion control for robotic manipulators. In the proposed control scheme, adaptation laws are derived from the improved Lyapunov second stability analysis method based on the adaptive model reference control theory. The adaptive controller consists of an adaaptive feedforward controller, feedback controller, and PID type time-varying auxillary control elements. The prpposed adaptive control scheme is simple in structure, fast in computation, and suitable for implementation of real-time control. Moreover, this scheme does not require an accurate dynamic modeling, nor values of manipulator parameters and payload. Performance of the adaptive controller is illustrated by simulation and experimental results for a SCARA robot.
This paper is concerned with the stability analysis and the design of an auto pilot using direct model reference adaptive control for BTT missile with unknown dynamics when subjected to the longitudinal and lateral gusts. A motion of BTT missile can be separated into the longtudinal and lateral motione. The proposed algorithm is introduced different leakage terms about each motion into adaptation so as to prevent drift of the adaptive gain and alleviate gust effects and cross-coupling. The algorithm is applied to the 6DOF motion of an EMRAAT missile.

In this paper, a new scheme of implicit MRAC is presented for single input single output discrete system. The MRAC can be applied to the nonminimum phase system, too. They have simple structure because the parameters of the controller are estimated directly by changing the plant output equation properly. In this scheme, the observation process is well seperated from the adaptation process, so the adaptation algorithm is derived from the exponentially weighted least square method which has fast convergence characteristics and can deal with the time varying plant. The consistency of the estimated parameter is proved. And it is also proved the whole system has the stabilizing property. The effectiveness of the algorithm and the structure is illustrated by the computer simulation of the model reference adaptive control for a third order plant. It is proposed how to select the selectable parameters in the adaptive control system from the simulation results.
