  • The purpose of the study is to design a space-based locality documentation model. It begins with analysing the changes of directions and strategies of locality documentation through literature surveys. Based on the analysis, a new paradigm of locality documentation is suggested in digital environment. It then suggests space-based documentation model, i.e., 'spanDoc Model (SPAace-based Networked Documentation Model)' which represent the new paradigm. The model focuses on planning the framework of use and accumulation of locality documentation.

  • In Space Syntax, the greater the degree of integration between separate links, the greater the links' accessibility from the target network. As such, planning pedestrian walks so that links with high degrees of integration are connected, or else inducing high integration value land use are both valid options. The travel distribution model reflects how walking demand, or more specifically, the pedestrian, partakes in route choosing behavior that minimizes select criteria, notably level of discomfort, as measured using travel distance and time. The model thus demonstrates travel patterns associated with demand pertaining to minimization of discomfort experienced by the pedestrian. This research introduces a method that integrates Space Syntax and the pedestrian travel distribution model. The integrated model will determine whether regions with high degrees of integration are actually being used as pivots for pedestrian demand movement, as well as to explain whether the degree of integration is sustained at an appropriate level while considering actual movement demand. As a means to develop the integrated model, a method that combines display of the visibility of the space syntax network and road-divided links is proposed. The pedestrian travel distribution model also includes an alternative path finding mechanism between origin and destination, which allows for uniform allocation of demand.

  • We investigate the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of Massive Young Stellar Objects (MYSOs) using the various infrared observational data including the Infrared Space Observatory (ISO) data. We model the dust envelopes around the stars using a radiative transfer model for spherically symmetric geometry. Comparing the model results with the observed SEDs of the two MYSOs (AFGL 4176 and AFGL 2591), we derive the relevant dust shell parameters including the dust opacity, the dust density distribution, and dust temperature distribution. We find that the spherical model can produce the SEDs roughly similar to the observations. We expect that the results would be helpful for making more realistic non-spherical dust envelope models for MYSOs.

  • Our work is based on the development of a numerical model to develop a methodology for predicting the aging and breakdown in insulation due to the dynamics of space charge packets. The model of bipolar charge transports is proposed to simulate space charge dynamic for high DC voltage in law-density polyethylene (LDPE), taking into account the trapping and detrapping of recombination phenomena, this model has been developed and experimentally validation. Theoretical formulation of the physical problem is based on the Poisson, the continuity and the transport equations as well as on the appropriate models for injection. Numerical results provide temporal and local distributions of the electric field, the space charge density for the different kinds of charges, conduction and displacement current densities, and the external current.

  • The three-dimensional woven fabric C/SiC composites blisk turbine rotor model was evaluated. The spin tests of the blisk model were performed to measure strain distributions at the room temperature. The rotational strength of the blisk model could be improved by the fiber addition. But, there are still more researches to be done.

  • From the view point of data fusion, we integrate LIDAR data and digital aerial images to perform 3D building modeling in this study. The proposed scheme comprises two major parts: (1) building block extraction and (2) building model reconstruction. In the first step, height differences are analyzed to detect the above ground areas. Color analysis is then performed for the exclusion of tree areas. Potential building blocks are selected first followed by the refinement of building areas. In the second step, through edge detection and extracting the height information from LIDAR data, accurate 3D edges in object space is calculated. The accurate 3D edges are combined with the already developed SMS method for building modeling. LIDAR data acquired by Leica ALS 40 in Hsin-Chu Science-based Industrial Park of north Taiwan will be used in the test.

  • In a previous study, the stochastic space-dependent kinetics model (SSKM) based on the forward stochastic model in stochastic kinetics theory and the Ito stochastic differential equations was proposed for treating monoenergetic space-time nuclear reactor kinetics in one dimension. The SSKM was tested against analog Monte Carlo calculations, however, for exemplary cases of homogeneous slab reactors with only one delayed-neutron precursor group. In this paper, the SSKM is improved and evaluated with more realistic and complicated cases regarding several delayed-neutron precursor groups and heterogeneous slab reactors in which the extraneous source or reactivity can be introduced locally. Furthermore, the source level and the initial conditions will also be adjusted to investigate the trends in the variances of the neutron population and fission product levels across the reactor. The results indicate that the improved SSKM is in good agreement with the Monte Carlo method and show how the variances in population dynamics can be controlled.

  • When analyzing field or optimizing the shape of electrode in three dimensional space by using the surface charge method, we need to divide finely the surface of electrode into surface element like triangle or rectangle. In this case, there exist any variables in field analysis or field optimization. In particular, smoothness on the surface of optimized shape is not good. Recently, A paper is published where introducing NURB curve to field analysis and field optimization about two dimensional space model and axial symmetric three dimensional space model results in reduced variables, enhenced accuracy and improved smoothness. NURB curve has some useful properties like continuity, controllability and locality. Therefore in this paper, in order to improve the demerits of the established optimization method for three dimensional space models, the NURB surface that has same properties in common with NURB curve is used to analyze and optimize simple model.

  • The navigation problem of robot is one of the main themes to deal with conficts or interferences between obstacles and the robot itself In this case, while the robot avoids obstacles on the space, the passage route should be determined efficiently. In order to solve problems above, we have come up with the distance field space medel (DFM) and then, under known environment, we have presented the distance field A algorithm for passage route path search. In this research, the method of performing the 3-dimensional passage route path search of robot under unknown environment is proposed. It is shown that the authors can build the distance search model the does not need space division by taking into account of sensor information to a distance field space model, and constructing this information as virtual obstacle information.

  • Heumgyeonggaknu (欽敬閣漏) is powered by a water-hammering-type water wheel. The technique that maintains the constant speed of the water wheel is assumed to be the one used in the Cheonhyeong (天衡) apparatus in Shui Yun Yi Xiang Tai (水運儀象臺) made by the Northern Song (北宋) dynasty in the 11th century. We investigated the history of the development and characteristics of the Cheonhyeong apparatus, and we analyzed ways to transmit the power of Heumgyeonggaknu. In addition, we carried out a conceptual design to systematically examine the power control system. Based on the conceptual design, we built a model for a water wheel control system that could be used in experiments by drawing a 3D model and a basic design.
