  • In the existing text sentiment analysis models, the entire text is usually directly modeled as a whole, and the hierarchical relationship between text contents is less considered. However, in the practice of sentiment analysis, many texts are mixed with multiple emotions. If the semantic modeling of the whole is directly performed, it may increase the difficulty of the sentiment analysis model to judge the sentiment, making the model difficult to apply to the classification of mixed-sentiment sentences. Therefore, this paper proposes a sentiment analysis model BHGCN that considers the text hierarchy. In this model, the output of hidden states of each layer of BERT is used as a node, and a directed connection is made between the upper and lower layers to construct a graph network with a semantic hierarchy. The model not only pays attention to layer-by-layer semantics, but also pays attention to hierarchical relationships. Suitable for handling mixed sentiment classification tasks. The comparative experimental results show that the BHGCN model exhibits obvious competitive advantages.

  • With emerging the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm, the sensor network and sensor platform technologies have been changed according to exploding amount of sensors. Sensor Registry System (SRS) as a sensor platform is a system that registers and manages sensor metadata for consistent semantic interpretation in heterogeneous sensor networks. However, the SRS is unsuitable for the IoT environment. Therefore, this paper proposes sensor registry data model to register and manager sensor information in the IoT environment. We analyze Semantic Sensor Network Ontology (SSNO) for improving the existed SRS, and design metamodel based on the analysis result. We also build tables in a relational database using the designed metamodel, then implement SRS as a web application. This paper applies the SSNO and sensor ontology examples with translating into the proposed model in order to verify the suitability of the proposed sensor registry data model. As the evaluation result, the proposed model shows abundant expression of semantics by comparison with existed models.

  • This paper tries to extend the conventional conceptual framework of the Internet of Things (IoT) so as to reify an advanced pervasive IoT-community collaboration concept, which is called the process-aware Internet of Things. The extended conceptual framework is embodied as a referential architecture that can be a standardized reference model supporting the conceptual integration of the Internet of Things and the process awareness. The extended referential architecture covers the full range of the architectural details from abstracting the process-aware behavioral semantics to reifying the IoT-process enactments. These extended framework and architecture ought to be the theoretical basis for implementing a process-aware IoT-community computing system supporting process-aware collaborations of Things in pervasive computing environments. In particular, we do point up that the proposed framework of the process-aware Internet of Things is revised from the Internet of Things framework announced in ITU-T SG133 Y.2060 [26] by integrating the novel concept of process awareness. We strongly believe that the extended conceptual framework and its referential architecture are able to deliver the novel and meaningful insight as a standardized platform for describing and achieving the goals of IoT-communities and societies.

  • VMS (virtual manufacturing system) may be defined as a transparent interface/control mechanism to support human decision-making via simulation and monitoring of real operating situation through modeling of all activities in RMS (real manufacturing system). The three main layers in VMS are business process layer, manufacturing execution layer, and facility operation layer, and each layer is represented by a specific software system having its own input modeler module. The current version of these input modelers has been implemented based on its own 'local' framework, and as a result, there are no information sharing mechanism, nor a common user view among them. Proposed in this paper is a unified modeler framework covering the three VMS layers, in which the concept of PPR (product-process-resource) model is employed as a common semantics framework and a 2D graphic network model is used as a syntax framework. For this purpose, abstract class PPRObject and GraphicObject are defined and then a subclass is inherited from the abstract class for each application layer. This feature would make it easier to develop and maintain the individual software systems. For information sharing, XML is used as a common data format.

  • Conventional hypermedia systems provide a simple data model based on nodes and link, and give us the limited capability in information retrieval such as browsing and navigating following the links. In this paper, we design and implement a hypermedia system (AHEAD) with enhanced data modeling and querying capability, which are strongly supported in object-oriented database technology. The AHEAD makes it possible to model the accurate data semantics and relationships in application domain, to represent useful information related to nodes and links, and to define the structure and manipulation operations of multimedia data. It also support the various querying capabilities by using modeling information.

  • This paper propose an active rule and its semantic model integrating active rule system into temporal database. Most of previous works have been focused on condition action(CA) rule for temporal relations. However, proposed active rule model supports full SQL:3 trigger functionalitics including transition variable and table as well as tuple-level and statement-level active rules in E CA granularity. A bi-temporal concept of active rule and valid time event are also proposed newlv.

  • In the active databases, whenever an event occurs, active rules with the matching event specifications are triggered automatically, its action will be executed. Because these rules may in turn trigger other rules including themselves, the set of rules may be executing each other indefinitely. These problem can be solved by rule termination analysis, and it is efficient for the rule termination to execute in compile time of rule. In this paper we not only design rule compiler with rule termination analyzer, but also propose its execution model and algorithm. The completeness of proposed model is verified by algorithm formalization of rule termination analysis.

  • With the development of GPS and the popularity of mobile devices with positioning capability, collecting massive amounts of trajectory data is feasible and easy. The daily trajectories of moving objects convey a concise overview of their behaviors. Different social roles have different trajectory patterns. Therefore, we can identify users or groups based on similar trajectory patterns by mining implicit life patterns. However, most existing daily trajectories mining studies mainly focus on the spatial and temporal analysis of raw trajectory data but missing the essential semantic information or behaviors. In this paper, we propose a novel trajectory semantics calculation method to identify groups that have similar behaviors. In our model, we first propose a fast and efficient approach for stay regions extraction from daily trajectories, then generate semantic trajectories by enriching the stay regions with semantic labels. To measure the similarity between semantic trajectories, we design a semantic similarity measure model based on spatial and temporal similarity factor. Furthermore, a pruning strategy is proposed to lighten tedious calculations and comparisons. We have conducted extensive experiments on real trajectory dataset of Geolife project, and the experimental results show our proposed method is both effective and efficient.

  • Conceptual modeling is well suited as a subject that constitutes the "core" of the Information Systems (IS) discipline and has grown in response to IS development. Several modeling grammars and methods have been studied extensively in the IS discipline. Previous studies, however, present deficiencies in research methods and even put forward contradictory results about the ternary relationship in conceptual modeling. For instance, some studies contend that the semantics of a binary relationship are better for novices, but others argue that a ternary relationship is better than three binary relationships when the association among three entity types clearly exists. The objective of this research is to acquire complete and accurate understanding of the ternary relationship, specifically to understand practitioners' modeling performance when utilizing either a ternary or binary relationship. To the best of our knowledge, no previous work clearly compares real-world modeler performance differences between binary and ternary representations. By investigating practitioners' understanding of ternary relationship and identifying practitioners' cognition, this research can broaden the perspective on conceptual modeling.
