This paper intends to highlight the effect of the third-body in an inclined orbit on a spacecraft orbiting the primary mass. To achieve this goal, a new origin of coordinate is introduced in the primary and the X-axis toward the node of the spacecraft. The disturbing function is expanded up to the second order using Legendre polynomials. A double-averaged analytical model is exploited to produce the evolutions of mean orbital elements as smooth curves.
This paper presents a simple and efficient two-dimensional rigid-body-spring network model able to accurately estimate the fractural behavior of civil fiber reinforced pavements. The proposed rigid-body-spring network model, denoted as RBSN model, considers civil fiber reinforcing materials using the beam elements and link spring elements. The RBSN method is able to model collapse due to asphalt crushing and civil fiber slip. The RBSN model is used to predict the applied load-midspan deflection response of civil fiber retrofitted asphalt specimen subjected to the three-point bending. Numerical simulations and experimental measurements are compared to based on tests available in the literature. The numerically simulated responses agree significantly with the corresponding experimental results until the maximum load. However, It should be mentioned that, in order to more accurately predict the postpeak flexural behavior of the civil fiber retrofitted asphalt pavement, development of the advanced model to simulate the slip relationship between civil fiber and asphalt is required.
Digital waveguide model is a general method that is used in physical modeling of musical instruments. Wave motion is analyzed by time or by space in digital waveguide model. Because sampling is made via time, it is general that musical instrument model is described by wave motion of time. In this paper, we synthesized the musical instrument sound by adding instrument body model to the spatial based string model. In this way, we could improve sound quality and process musical instrument model's tone control variables effectively. We explained about delay error that happens in string and body in space based sampling and showed method to process fractional delay using FD (Fractional Delay)filter. Finally, we explained the relation between tone quality and number of delays. And we also compared the result with time base digital waveguide model.

Various dynamic models of seated posture human body have been developed because the importance about the ride comfort assessment of vehicles is highly emphasized from day to day. The dynamic models of human body make possible the simulation of ride comfort assessment by applied to the vehicle dynamic model. Recently, the importance of ride comfort is also regarded to working vehicles such as excavators and the research of the ride comfort assessment for working vehicle is required. Only vertical vibration dominantly occurs on the seat of the private car driving with constant velocity. In contrast, vertical/fore-and-aft/pitch vibration seriously occurs on the seat of the working excavator. So, the dynamic models of seated human body applied to working vehicles should describe the dynamic characteristics for vertical/fore-and-aft/pitch direction. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of seated human body are represented as apparent inertia matrix. The apparent inertia matrix is obtained by the vertical/fore-and-aft/pitch excitation of seated human body. 6 resonance frequencies are observed in apparent inertia matrix. This result can be applied to develop the dynamic model for seated posture human body.
Objectives: Many symptoms of cold and heat patterns are related to the thermoregulation of the body. Thus, we aimed to study the association of cold and heat patterns with anthropometry/body composition. Methods: The cold and heat patterns of 2000 individuals aged 30-55 years were evaluated using a self-administered questionnaire. Results: Among the anthropometric and body composition variables, body mass index (-0.37, 0.39) and fat mass index (-0.35, 0.38) had the highest correlation coefficients with the cold and heat pattern scores after adjustment for age and sex in the cold-heat group, while the correlation coefficients were relatively lower in the non-cold-heat group. In the cold-heat group, the most parsimonious model for the cold pattern with the variables selected by the best subset method and Lasso included sex, body mass index, waist-hip ratio, and extracellular water/total body water (adjusted R2 = 0.324), and the model for heat pattern additionally included age (adjusted R2 = 0.292). Conclusions: The variables related to obesity and water balance were the most useful for predicting cold and heat patterns. Further studies are required to improve the performance of prediction models.
This paper proposes a novel approach for the model-based pose matching of a human body using Active Shape Models. To improve the processing time of model creation and registration, we use a skeleton-type model instead of the conventional silhouette-based models. The skeleton model defines feature information that is used to match the human pose. Images used to make the model are for 600 human bodies, and the model has 17 landmarks which indicate the body junction and key features of a human pose. When applying primary Active Shape Models to the skeleton-type model in the matching process, a problem may occur in the proximal joints of the arm and leg due to the color variations on a human body and the insufficient information for the fore-rear directions of profile normals. This problem is solved by using the background subtraction information of a body region in the input image and adding a 4-directions feature of the profile normal in the proximal parts of the arm and leg. In the matching process, the maximum iteration is less than 30 times. As a result, the execution time is quite fast, and was observed to be less than 0.03 sec in an experiment.

In this paper, a 3-DOF(Degree Of Freedom) rigid body model is developed for dynamic analysis of a hydrostatic table. The dynamic coefficients, stiffness and damping constant of each pad are calculated from the mass flow continuity condition. The validity of this model is examined in theoretical and experimental method. The dynamic behavior when mass unbalances and local variations of stiffness and damping of pads present is analyzed for real applications of hydrostatic table. Since the theoretical and experimental results show goof agreement. it can be said that the 3-DOF rigid body model is useful for the dynamic model of the table. The analysis reveals that the pitching motion is the dominant mode of vibration, It also reveals that unbalanced loads can increase amplitude of tilting motion and reduce natural frequencies and damping capacity of the hydrostatic table.

Indexable end mills, which consist of inserts and cutter body, have been widely used in roughing of parts in the mold industry. The geometry and distribution of inserts on cutter body are determined by application. This paper proposes analytical cutting force model for indexable flat end-milling process. Developed cutting force model uses the cutting-condition-independent cutting force coefficients and considers runout, cutter deflection and size effect for the accurate cutting force prediction. Unlike solid type endmill, the tool geometry of indexable endmill is variable according to the axial position due to the geometry and distribution of inserts on the cutter body. Thus, adaptive algorithm that calculates tool geometry data at arbitrary axial position was developed. Then number of flute, angular position of flute, and uncutchip thickness are calculated. Finally, presented model was validated through some experiments with aluminum workpiece.

This study examined the effects of "me-model" body-size discrepancy on consumer's shopping mood, store satisfaction, and intention to revisit two types of online apparel stores (one featuring thin models and one featuring average-sized models). A convenience sample of women (n = 528) participated. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data. Participants who were thinner or similar to the models indicated positive shopping moods, a high level of online store satisfaction, and intended to revisit the stores when compared to participants who were larger than the models. Participants preferred the 'average-sized' model. This preference was attributed to the familiarity of the model and ability to effectively evaluate merchandise. The results revealed how models can influence apparel consumers in an online context.
A concept of crash energy absorbing (CEA) lattice structure for an inflatable morphing vehicle body (Lee et al. 2008) has been investigated as a method of providing rigidity and energy absorption capability during a vehicular collision (Lee et al. 2007). A modified analytical model for the CEA lattice structure design is described in this paper. The modification of the analytic model was made with a stiffness approach for the elastic region and updated plastic limit analysis with a pure plastic bending deformation concept and amended elongation factors for the plastic region. The proposed CEA structure is composed of a morphing lattice structure with movable thin-walled members for morphing purposes, members that will be locked in designated positions either before or during the crash. What will be described here is how to model the CEA structure analytically based on the energy absorbed by the CEA structure.
