  • An analytical method based on the nonlinear layered finite element method is developed to simulate overall load-deflection behavior of bonded and unbonded prestressed concrete beams. The model which uses rather advanced numerical technique for iterative convergence to equilibrium can be regarded as superior one compared to the models mainly based on either load control or displacement control methods. Model predictions were compared with preceding experimental results and it was observed that there were good agreements between them.

  • In this study, the validity of the grid softened strut-tie model method suggested for concrete member analysis is examined through the ultimate strength evaluation of the reinforced concrete beams. The evaluated results of ultimate strength by the grid softened strut-tie model method were compared with those by the ACI 318-02 and the modified compression field theory, and European codes.

  • In this study, using experimental results on the autogenous expansion of concrete containing MgO, autogenous expansion model which considers water-binder ratio, amount of MgO and curing temperature was suggested. The results predicted by autogenous expansion model agreed well with experiment results.

  • This paper present the strength estimation of precast concrete products by chloride ion penetration method. The relation between the strength of precast concrete product and the ion passing charge is linear and a numerical model of FCK =515.96-0.201Q is prposed. The results showe good agreement at about 9.0% error ration with the estimated model results for real precast concrete product.

  • This paper describes an evaluation of reinforcement tension in RC beams using the variable truss models. The models were examined with the beam test results by Kim, Kim and White. Consequently, a fixed inclination $\theta$ at the support un-explains global state of internal force flow in cracked reinforced concrete beams subjected to shear and bending. Accordingly, we must introduce the arch factor for development of consistent model in reinforced concrete beams subjected to shear and bending

  • This paper predicts the shear stress-strain relationship of reinforced concrete columns using Transformation Angle Truss Model (TATM) considered bending moment and axial force effects. Nine columns with various shear span-to-depth ratios and axial force ratios were tested to verify the theoretical results obtained from TATM. Shear stress-strain relationship obtained from TATM was agreed well with test results conducted by bis study than other truss models.

  • The anchorage zone of prestressed concrete members is a critical region where a large concentrated force due to prestressing by tendons is introduced. In this study, the ACI, AASHTO LRFD, CEB-FIP design criteria and the nonlinear strut-tie model approach are applied to the ultimate strength analysis of simple anchorage zones of 18 post-tensioned concrete members tested to failure. From the result of ultimate strength analysis, the advantages and disadvantages of each method are compared and discussed.

  • In this paper, an averaged constitutive model of concrete and reinforcing bars for RC structure and path-dependent Ohsaki's model for soil are applied, and an elasto-plastic interface model having thickness is preposed for seismic analysis of underground RC subway station structure. A finite element analysis technique is developed by applying aforementioned constitutive equations and verified through seismic analysis of underground RC subway station. Then, failure mechanisms of the RC subway station structure under seismic action are numerically derived. Then, failure modes and damage levels of the station are also analytically evaluated for the cases of several designs of the underground RC station.
