  • Recently, as warehouses became automated, workers are trying to maximize storage efficiency as well as work efficiency. So, using mobile-rack which has wheels or rails at the bottom and minimizes dead space by removing extra passages between racks is rapidly rising as a notable technology. So, this paper seeks how to manage optimally cryogenic warehouse using mobile-rack. At first, routes of mobile-rack and operation vehicle will be synchronized and storage location will be decided with seasonal demand. After that, it will be simulated considering additional factors.

  • The non-rail mobile rack, which is used for cargo storage, can improve the storage capacities of logistics centers. Furthermore, it has the advantage that it can be used in traditional logistics centers without making any changes or renovation, such as installing rails. However, when the rack is operated by separated drive actuators mounted on the left and the right wheels, precise position control of the wheels is necessary even if the unbalanced cargo weight on the rack would affect the control. Therefore, internal synchronization control for position tracking between the left and right wheels on the non-rail mobile rack is necessary in this study. In addition, external synchronization control for realizing the same straight movements between mobile racks is necessary. For the internal and the external synchronization control, we propose a synchronization control algorithm based on the repetitive control theory. An internal synchronization control algorithm with repetitive control theory requires the application of the robust servo control method owing to parameter variations. In this case, we can set up the gains for the robust servo control system by considering the cargo variations on the mobile rack. Furthermore, for developing the external synchronization control algorithm, we use a double repetitive control system to perform synchronization control between mobile racks. The efficiency of the proposed control algorithm will be verified by simulation and experimental results. The proposed algorithm can be easily applied in the industry.

  • Higher utilization of warehouse space can be achieved by using automated mobile racking systems. Therefore, those systems may be employed for factories or distribution centers as a good option of increasing the storage capacity. In this paper, travel-time models are developed to estimate the average performance of the system assuming randomized storage. Expected travel times are determined for both single- and dual-command cycles. Two extreme input/output-point locations are considered. Some numerical results obtained from the models are given.

  • This paper proposes a hermite spline based D* algorithm for effective path planning of mobile robot to improve the detecting speed. In conventional path planning research, a robot is supposed to pass through predetermined centers of grid partitions of area. However it doesn't guarantee the optimal path during its navigation. In addition, a robot is hard to avoid obstacles effectively. The proposed algorithm in this paper makes use of stochastic characteristics of nonholonomic mobile robot and estimation of shortest path to curvature movement of the robot. The performance evaluation of the improved spline D* algorithm performed through simulation shows its effectiveness. Moreover, the experiment verifies that a robot can find the shortest path by building the curve paths while it is moving on the path in spline.

  • 소비자들이 필요로 하는 다양한 제품을 생산하기 위하여, 제조 현장에서 사용하는 자동화 장비의 종류가 다양해져가고 있다. 자동화 장비는 일반적으로 운영자가 효율적으로 감시하고, 조작할 수 있도록 사용자용 인터페이스 장치(HMI)를 설치하여 제작되고 있다. HMI 장치는 자동화 장비마다 개별적으로 고정되어 있기 때문에, 운영자가 다양한 장비를 즉각적으로 조작하기에 어려움이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 장치를 사용해 QR코드로 장비의 화면을 표시하고, 원격으로 해당 장비를 조작할 수 있는 모델을 제안한다. 제안 모델은 하나의 모바일 장치를 활용하여 다양한 자동화 장비를 원격으로 신속하게 감시하고 제어할 수 있어, 제품 생산에 대한 효율이 증대될 것으로 기대된다.

A Improvement Plan for Fire Fighting Activity of Rack- Type Warehouse Based on Case Study and Field Interview (사례분석과 현장인터뷰를 통한 적층형 대형창고 소방활동 개선방안 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to suggest a systematic improvement plan for strengthening fire fighting ability of domestic rack- type warehouse buildings. Method: A fire case of small warehouse with sandwich panel structure and four design review of large warehouse with fire endurance structure were analyzed. Also, interviewed a group of 11 fire fighters who had 20 years field experience. Results: A provision of mobile equipment for initial fire fighting, accessibility of more than three sides, installation of internal entrance windows, proper placement of outdoor fire fighting equipment, image processing of fire site informations, and provide more incentives on the field commander are main factors of improvement plan. Conclusion: Effective standard operation procedures (SOP) and safety standards should be established and applied for each stage of the dispatch and on-site response considering the fire characteristics and risk factors of each warehouse by scale.

A Study on the Retention Efficiency of Library Materials of Automated Storage and Retrieval System (자동서고의 자료 수장 효율성에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to compare the retention efficiency of library materials of Automated Storage and Retrieval System(AS/RS) revealed by the literature review to other types of book stacks. Domestic and foreign academic libraries adopted AS/RS as part of a plan to improve the retention efficiency. Literature review reveals that in general, AS/RS is better in the retention efficiency in compare to other types of book stacks. This study compared the amount of library materials stored by the AS/RS of S University Library to the general book stack and the fixed-type and the mobile rack-type of virtual book stacks. The study reveals that AS/RS is up to 6 times more efficient than general book stacks, up to 3.61 times more efficient than fixed-type book stacks and up to 1.45 times more efficient than mobile rack-type book stacks. However, the study claims that the retention efficiency of library materials of AS/RS is lower than what is known.

  • 모바일 게임 시장이 날이 갈수록 발전하고 성장하는 가운데 Unity 게임 엔진은 하나의 코드로 여러 플랫폼에서 동작하도록 하여 게임 개발이 전문가들만이 개발할 수 있는 영역이 아닌 누구나 쉽게 개발할 수 있도록 해주는 환경으로 인기를 받고 있다. 이에 따라 Unity 엔진을 이용하여 퍼즐 게임과 타워 디펜스 장르를 합친 퍼즐디펜스로 복합장르를 적용한 게임을 개발하였다.
