Due to the popularity of mobile phones, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) content sharing in mobile phones is highly desirable, especially in a mobile data connection. In addition, there has been an increasing demand for content sharing applications for P2P communication in Android-based smartphones as ubiquitous mobile devices. However, due to wireless network limits, unstable characteristic and restricted storage space, mobile users confront challenges in establishing connections and sharing video frames with other users. To solve this issue, we propose an architectural design and implementation of key frame sharing application that uses Chord, a distributed lookup protocol to establish a content sharing platform for mobile devices, combined with the Chord SDK based on Android. Our proposed system enables users easily to share key information on video data in real-time over a wireless network without manual processing of devices which join or leave the group and cost associated with the 3G/4G network.
We propose a tree-based integration of infrastructure networks and MANETs (TUM) to efficiently extend the scope of mobile Internet protocol to mobile ad hoc networks and devise a tree-based routing protocol (TBRP) that is suitable for the TUM architecture. Infrastructure networks have a number of fixed Internet Gateways that connect two heterogeneous networks. Mobile nodes form a number of small trees named pMANETs, each of them growing from anchor node which can communicate directly with an Internet Gateway. A new node registers with foreign agent and home agent along the tree path without resorting to an inefficient flooding. Furthermore, the TBRP sets up a routing path efficiently by exploiting the tree information without relying on flooding. We show by resorting to simulation that our approach is competitive against the conventional AODV based approach.

High-Speed vehicles can be considered as multiple mobile nodes that move together in a large-scale mobile network. High-speed makes the time allowed for a mobile node to complete a handover procedure shorter and more frequently. Hence, several protocols are used to manage the mobility of mobile nodes such as Network Mobility (NEMO). However, there are still some problems such as high handover latency and packet loss. So efficient handover management is needed to meet Quality of Service (QoS) requirements for real-time applications. This paper utilizes the cross-layer seamless handover technique for network mobility presented in cellular networks. It extends this technique to propose QoS-aware NEMO protocol which considers QoS requirements for real-time applications. A novel analytical framework is developed to compare the performance of the proposed protocol with basic NEMO using cost functions for realistic city mobility model. The numerical results show that QoS-aware NEMO protocol improves the performance in terms of handover latency, packet delivery cost, location update cost, and total cost.

Mobile devices do not need the fixed network infrastructure in ad-hoc network, these devices communicate each other through the distributed control. Accordingly, mobile devices can discover several services using dynamic searching method and provide safely public ownership of these services. Ad-hoc network needs the distributed control and topology of dynamic network because the limited power for processing and network communication. This paper is devoted to provide the secure protocol that provides efficient services discovery using SDP(Service Discovery Protocol) and considers the security requirements. Proposed protocol provides the distributed control based on PKI without central server, the discovery of trusted service, secure telecommunication, the identification among mobile devices, and service access control by user authority.

In this paper, we propose a MAC(Media Access Control) protocol based on flexible RWT(RTS Waiting Time) for underwater mobile ad-hoc networks with a three-way handshaking mechanism. This protocol can solve a problem of collision between RTS(Request-To-Send) and CTS(Clear-To-Send) packets in existing MACA(Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance) protocol. This proposed MAC protocol is also an effective protocol which can apply to underwater mobile ad-hoc networks in a real field by using implementable technologies. We set flexible RTS Waiting Time called RWT, considering various characteristics of underwater environment. It is possible to support variable network size according to node mobility. Finally, we conduct a performance evaluation between proposed MAC protocol and existing MACA based MAC protocol through practical implementation and experiment. As a result, we verify the superiority of our proposed MAC protocol in terms of throughput, packet drop rate, average transmission time, energy consumption and channel utilization.
In multi-regional mobile agent computing environments, spatial replication-based approach may be used as a representative mobile agent fault-tolerance technique because it allows agent execution to make progress without blocking even in case of agent failures. However, to apply this approach to real mobile agent-based computing systems, it is essential to minimize the overhead of locating and managing mobile agents replicated on each stage. This paper presents a new mobile agent location management protocol SRLM to solve this problem. The proposed protocol allows only the primary among all the replicated workers of each stage to register with its regional server and then, significantly reduces its location updating and message delivery overheads compared with the previous protocols. Also, the protocol addresses the location management problem incurred by electing the new primary among the remaining workers at a stage in case of the primary worker's failure.
When a Mobile IP handoff occurs, the packets in flight can be lost because they are tunneled based on out-of-date location information. In this parer, we propose an enhanced handoff protocol that achieves no packet loss during Mobile IP handoff over a wireless LAN. Our handoff protocol predicts the next foreign agent that a mobile host is to visit by using: the information from the data link layer of wireless LAN. After that, when a Mobile IP handoff occult, the current foreign agent forwards the packets destined to a mobile host to the predicted foreign agent which buffers them. This eliminates packet loss and reduces the packet forwarding delay. Our handoff protocol is simulated using the Network Simulator-2 (ns-2) and shows the substantial performance enhancement of TCP with much less overhead up to 6.2 times compared to standard Mobile IP.
The general sensor network uses bundle method to collect fixed information from sensor node. However, this method is difficult to actively cope with major sensing objects in healthcare environment including status and position change of person and change of surrounding environment. In order to support the healthcare environment, certain information should be provided in accordance with the change of status of person and surrounding circumstance and also must cope with the change of network type by movement of person. This paper analyzes LEACH protocol which guarantees effectiveness of network as it constitutes clusters between Agilla model that is a representative multi agent middle ware and surrounding nodes. Based on the result of this analysis, it suggests LEACH_Mobile protocol which guarantees node mobility that is the weakest point of LEACH protocol. Moreover, it designs mobility agent middleware which supports dynamic function change of node and mobility agent module which supports dynamic function change of mobile node as components of LEACH_Mobile routing module. In addition, it is definitely increase performance which in mobile node of transfer data rate through LEACH_Mobile protocol of simulation result.

When a real-time data transfer is not possible between a reader and a back-end server in the mobile environment, the reader should support a capability to search a certain tag without communicating with a back-end server. Some recent papers related to the mobile reader-based tag search protocol have addressed privacy concerns for the reader and the tags. However, to our best knowledge, there are no papers addressing the problem arising from reusing tag lists existed in the mobile reader. In other words, there arise a problem that a mobile reader which has lost an right to access to a specific tag is able to search that tag by reusing a tag list for searching a particular tag. If mobile reader having an unauthorized tag list, the mobile reader can reuse a particular tag list. Our protocol provides the enhanced secure tag lists preventing the reuse of the tag lists and an efficient tag search protocol based on dynamic identity in the mobile reader-based RFID environments.
There can exist unidirectional links due to asymmetric property of mobile terminals or current wireless environments on practical mobile ad hoc networks. However, at present, the existing mobile ad hoc routing protocols are implemented to support only bidirectional links. Thus, in this paper, we extend the existing dynamic source routing protocol in order to implement a new routing protocol, which is fit to mobile ad hoc networks containing unidirectional links. For performance evaluation, we use combinations of mobility scenario files and connection pattern files from Carnegimelon Univ. We consider received data rate and average route discovery time as evaluation items, which are compared and evaluated for three suggested route discovery methods.
