공간 모바일 장치를 위한 내장형 공간 MMDBMS의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of an Embedded Spatial MMDBMS for Spatial Mobile Devices)

  • 최근에 무선 통신의 발달과 더불어 모바일 컴퓨팅에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 모바일 컴퓨팅은 사용자가 PDA, 노트북 등의 이동 가능한 모바일 장치를 휴대하고 무선 통신을 통해서 서버 컴퓨터와 자원을 함께 공유하는 환경이라 할 수 있다. 모바일 데이타베이스는 이러한 모바일 장치에 사용되는 데이타베이스를 말한다. 모바일 데이타베이스의 응용 분야로는 보험업무, 금융업무 의료 등이 있지만, 특히 사용자의 위치 정보를 활용하는 위치 기반 서비스(LBS: Location Based Service)가 중요한 응용 분야로 등장하고 있다. 이러한 모바일 환경에서 위치 기반 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 공간 모바일 장치에서 대용량의 공간 데이타를 효율적으로 관리하기 위한 내장형 공간 MMDBMS(Main-Memory Database Management System)가 필요하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 기존의 PC용 MMDBMS인 HSQLDB를 확장하여 공간 모바일 장치에서 공간 데이타를 효율적으로 관리할 수 있는 내장형 공간 MMDBMS를 설계 및 구현하였다. 내장형 공간 MMDBMS는 ISO(International Organization for Standardization)의 공간 데이타 모델을 따르며, 공간 데이타 특성에 적합한 압축 기법인 산술 연산 코딩 기법을 제공하고, 공간 모바일 장치에 적합한 MBR 압축 및 해슁 기법을 이용한 공간 인덱스를 지원한다. 그리고, 공간 모바일 장치의 낮은 성능의 프로세서에서 공간 데이타 디스플레이 기능을 제공하고, 내장형 공간 MMDBMS와 GIS 서버 사이에서 공간 데이타 수입/수출의 성능 향상을 위한 데이타 캐슁과 동기화 기능을 지원한다.

  • Mobile devices are widely accepted as a convenient machine which provides computing capability as well we cell phone capability. Because of limited resources on mobile devices, complex applications could not be deployed on the devices. Service-based mobile applications (SMAs) can provide a solution to overcome the limitation by subscribing cloud services. Since SMAs have complex structures than standalone applications, it is challenging to develop high quality SMAs, to manage both services and mobile applications, and to implement automated billing for subscribed services. Therefore, there is a great demand for a platform for super mobile computing, which supports all key activities in managing life cycle of SMAs. In this paper, we present technical aspects of a platform which is under development; Super Mobile Autonomous Reliable plaTform (SMART). We believe that it provides a number of practical features which are essential in supporting life-cycle of SMAs; development, deployment, management, and operation.

스마트폰 사용이 정상인의 시력, 순발력, 균형능력, 통증에 미치는 영향 (Effects on Sight, Quickness, Balance, Pain of Normal Human Body with Using Portable Mobile Phone)

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to find out influence of using portable mobile devices in human body. Method: The subjects were consisted of the normal persons (19 males and 20 females). These subjects were consisted of three groups according to test time. The A group (12 persons - 6 males, 6 females) tests 5 minutes, the B group (14 persons - 7 males, 7 females) tests 10 minutes, and the C group (13 persons - 6 males, 7 females) tests 15 minutes. Before test, sight, quickness and balance were measured, after test revision, quickness, balance were measured and checked pain scale. Results: The results were as follows. 1. Sight, quickness and balance were decreased and pains were increased after using portable mobile devices than before using these. 2. According to duration of using the portable mobile devices, sight, quickness and balance was not a statistically significant difference, the entire upper body pain was a statistically significant difference. When viewed as part of the pain, shoulder, lower back, and wrist pain were a statistically significant difference, but the neck and elbow were not a statistically significant difference. 3. The influence of vision according to distance of using Portable mobile devices was no statistically significant difference. In addition, less than 20cm distance using equipment group ("Ga") and the group ("Na") which exceeded 20cm in between the sight were not statistically significant difference, Influence of pain according to distance of using Portable mobile devices we-re no statistically significant differences. Conclusion: Using portable mobile devices affect human body on the elements of the biomechanics.

  • Recently the wireless-internet has been spreading extensively. People are spending a large part of their time gaining access to information using a mobile device. With the rapid growth of on-line Electronic Commerce, the use of mobile devices creates a new paradigm that provides users with location-independent real time service. Although this new paradigm does have some advantages, limited process speed, low bandwidth, the low battery capacity of mobile devices, and a high rate of wireless network errors causes many overhead expenses during service time with the server. In this paper, we suggest an autonomous service delivery system, which provides mobile agent capability to users that cannot maintain a connection. We have developed the system based on java mobile agent technology. Using this system, we can provide more effective service to users when the user is sending requirements for service through a mobile device that has limited resources. Furthermore we can manage the contact server dynamically when new services are added.

  • 유비쿼터스 네트워크 기술이 발전하면서 모바일 단말기를 이용한 인터넷 사용은 휴대성과 편의성뿐만 아니라 시간과 장소에 구애 받지 않기 때문에 점점 증가하고 있다. 그러나 모바일 단말기의 다양한 기종과 많은 마크업 언어의 종류 등의 원인으로 모바일 컨텐츠 제작은 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 본 논문에서는 편집한 모바일 웹 페이지를 모바일 단말기에서 서비스할때 편집한 화면과 동일한 형태로 서비스하기 위하여 이미지 맵 방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 이미지 맵 방법을 이용한 모바일 웹 서비스 방법은 웹 페이지를 구성하고 있는 여러 개의 객체들을 하나의 이미지로 캡쳐해서 서비스하는 방법이다. 제안된 방법을 이용한 모바일 단말기는 몇 개의 객체들로 페이지를 재구성 할 때 표현이 더 쉽고 편집과 동일한 단말기 서비스 화면을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 최근 모바일 서비스의 발전과 모바일 기기의 사용 증가로 모바일 환경은 컴퓨터 그래픽스 분야에서 주목 받는 영역으로 부상하고 있다. 지금까지 비실사적 렌더링 기법은 데스크 탑 플랫폼을 기반으로 연구 되었으며 모바일 기기에서의 구현을 위한 노력은 부족하였다. 하드웨어적 한계를 가진 모바일 기기에 비실사적 렌더링 기법을 적용하기 위해서는 단말기의 제약성을 고려하여 렌더링 파이프 라인의 변화를 통한 새로운 프로세싱 기법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 비실사적 기법 중 최근 여러 분야에서 사용되고 있는 카툰 렌더링 기법을 모바일 환경에서 구현하기 위한 3차원 그래픽스 렌더링 파이프 라인과 카툰 쉐이딩 전처리 기법을 제안한다. 본 연구 결과로 모바일 디스플레이 환경에 맞는 실루엣 에지 렌더링과 쉐이딩 과정의 일부를 파일로 전처리하는 프로세싱 기법을 사용하게 됨으로써 사용자는 원하는 수준의 카툰 렌더링 결과물을 모바일 환경에서 실시간으로 접할 수 있으며 따라서 추후 모바일 서비스 이용의 효율을 높이고 모바일 콘텐츠 다양화에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Dynamic Scheduling Method for Cooperative Resource Sharing in Mobile Cloud Computing Environments

  • Mobile cloud computing has recently become a new paradigm for the utilization of a variety of shared mobile resources via wireless network environments. However, due to the inherent characteristics of mobile devices, a limited battery life, and a network access requirement, it is necessary for mobile servers to provide a dynamic approach for managing mobile resources efficiently in mobile cloud computing environments. Since on-demand job requests occur frequently and the number of mobile devices is drastically increased in mobile cloud computing environments, a different mobile resource management method is required to maximize the computational power. In this paper, we therefore propose a cooperative, mobile resource sharing method that considers both the inherent properties and the number of mobile devices in mobile cloud environments. The proposed method is composed of four main components: mobile resource monitor, job handler, resource handler, and results consolidator. In contrast with conventional mobile cloud computing, each mobile device under the proposed method can be either a service consumer or a service provider in the cloud. Even though each device is resource-poor when a job is processed independently, the computational power is dramatically increased under the proposed method, as the devices cooperate simultaneously for a job. Therefore, the mobile computing power throughput is dynamically increased, while the computation time for a given job is reduced. We conduct case-based experiments to validate the proposed method, whereby the feasibility of the method for the purpose of cooperative computation is shown.

제한된 자원의 무선 단말기를 위한 종단간 보안을 제공하는 WTLSW 프로토콜 및 프록시 모델 (A WTLSW Protocol and a Proxy Model to Ensure End-to-End Security for Mobile Devices with Limited Resources)

  • The need for end-to-end security has been increased with the widespread use of mobile devices in wireless internet access applications such as mobile commerce. The WAP1.x has an end-to-end security problem that the message transmitted between the mobile device and the Web server is decrypted inside the gateway within a short time. To overcome this problem, several protocols including WAP2.0 has been proposed. These protocols require that the heavy modules such as TLS or data compression modules should be installed on the mobile device with limited resources. This paper proposes a new WTLSW(WTLS-TLS at Web server) protocol and a new WAP2.0 proxy model in order to ensure end-to-end security between the mobile device and the Web server and to be appropriate for mobile devices with limited resources.

  • Due to the increasing use of smart phones, using Wifi, Wibro of mobile devices spread. Accordingly, Need of using peer-to-peer file sharing between mobile devices is growing. However, common Peer-to-Peer(P2P) system is too complex and is not suitable to be applied to mobile devices. Thus, the need of research has shown to improve way in a mobile environment that has a constraints as mobility and the scope of communication. Among them, there is a Chord as contents look up algorithm. Chord is the issue. Chord as the DHT-based P2P protocol shares files, index-key and distributed key across the network. However, exist Chord doesn't consider the mobility. So, It has a lot of problems in the mobile environment. Thus, in this paper, I will try to explore an appropriate way of Chord in a mobile environment.

모바일 장치에서의 가시화를 위한 경계기반 삼각화 (A Constrained Triangulation Technique for Visualization on Mobile Devices)

  • 3D rendering is becoming a common feature of mobile application programs with the rapid advance of mobile devices. Since the existing rendering engines do not provide triangulation functions, mobile 3D programs have focused on an efficient handling with pre-tessellated geometry. In addition, triangulation is comparatively expensive in computation, so it seems that the triangulation cannot be easily implemented on mobile devices with limited resources. Triangulation of 3D geometry is the essential process of visualization of 3D model data and many different triangulation methods have been reported. We developed a light and fast visualization process that involves constrained triangulation based on Voronoi diagram and applied it to a mobile computer application. In this paper, we applied kd-tree to the original incremental construction algorithm and produced new O(nlogn) incremental construction algorithm. And we show a simple and efficient constrained triangulation method based on Voronoi diagram. This paper also describes an implementation of mobile STEP data viewer as an application of our proposed algorithms.
