  • In recent years, the social network service (SNS) and the location-based social network service (LBSNS) industry is expanding and the competition within the field is increasing much more. Since 2010, the full-scaled studies of SNS and LBSNS have begun. With the growth of SNS and LBSNS markets, SoLoMo (Social-Local-Mobile) is also becoming the trend for applications in different fields. However, despite the importance of SoLoMo, there have been little studies on the characteristics of SoLoMo applications. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of characteristics and perceived privacy risk of mobile location-based SNS on intention to use SoLoMo applications. For the purpose, we proposed a SoLoMo service acceptance model with TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) and the characteristics of SoLoMo applications. The characteristics consist of three factors, i.e. SNS, location, and mobile-related factors. This study also considered a gamification and a perceived privacy risk factor influencing on SoLoMo service usage in our proposed research model. The results of our empirical analysis using partial least squares (PLS) method show that the characteristics of SoLoMo applications including SNS, location, and mobile-related features, gamification, and perceived privacy risk have partially an effect on intention to use SoLoMo applications. Based on these results, SoLoMo-related companies will be able to increase the usage of SoLoMo services by differentiating their own strategies with these factors influencing on SoLoMo services.

The second is to examine how the causal relationships between the factors could be changed in the service types in SNS, which would be divided into web based SNS and mobile SNS. For achieving the purposes, we established the research model and hypotheses based on Information Success and Technology Acceptance Model. The characteristics of the SNS users consist of Individual Innovation and Social Influence while the characteristics of the SNS system consist of Information Quality and System Quality. The hypotheses were verified by analyzing data, which was collected from survey research on users of the SNS, with AMOS 18.0 statistical package. As a result, the first, we observed that more important the SNS users would consider the social relation, more useful they would recognize the function of SNS. The second, we observed that faster and easier the users could obtain hourly information in diversity, more useful they would recognize the function of SNS. The third, we observed that more innovative the mobile SNS users would become, more negative they would consider the usefulness of SNS. • This paper examined how the millennial generation consumes mobile news through social networking sites with regards to user patterns, preference topics and news values, and whether news topics and news values may influence their overall mobile SNS news consumption and interactivity. The findings show that more than 2/3 of respondents consumed mobile SNS news at least once everyday for 30minutes to one-hour. Male millennials tended to use Facebook and Kakao-talk more than female. While the portal site was the most accessed channel for consuming mobile news, SNS was the second, more than the combined use of national daily papers, TV, and internet newspapers. The respondents' demographic characteristics and news topics also affect the form and degree of news interactivity. With regards to their preferences and prioritization of news values, millennials tend to perceive 'impact' and 'usefulness' as being most important, despite the differences of their demographic characteristics. They also preferred those news values most. There were significant differences in terms of preferred news topics according to the demographics' characteristics.
