Efficient Indoor Location Estimation using Multidimensional Indexes in Wireless Networks

  • Since it is hard to use GPS for tracking mobile user in indoor environments, much research has focused on techniques using existing wireless local area network infrastructure. Signal strength received at a fixed location is not constant, so fingerprinting approach which use pattern matching is popular. But this approach has to pay additional costs to determine user location. This paper proposes a new approach to find user's location efficiently using an index scheme. After analyzing characteristics of RF signals, the paper suggests the data processing method how the signal strength values for each of the access points are recorded in a radio map. To reduce computational cost during the location determination phase, multidimensional indexes for radio map with the important information which is the order of the strongest access points are used.

  • We have developed the convergence system that can control an appliance under ubiquitous circumstance. The system can display the GPS information received from the satellite, several control signal and mobile phone signal. In order to display the information between phone and the PC, we can control program command.

  • The Location Based Services (LBS) comprise spatial information and mobile technology allow users to receive various services based on Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Although, spatial information based services are very useful, it has lots of possibility to damage privacy protection. But the contents of the legislation by government have problems conflicted between protection of a person's location information and invigoration LBS. Therefore, in this study suggest a causal model to deal with user satisfaction and factors affecting spatial information based services to customer perspective. The proposed research model is tested empirically with one hundred and forty one usable questionnaires and partial least square (PLS) method. Experimental results showed that the usefulness, playfulness, and service quality play a prominent role in influencing the spatial information services satisfaction compared to other factors. But, easy of use and perceived risk are not significant.

  • 최근 모바일 단말 기술의 발전과 무선망의 성능 향상에 따른 다양한 서비스가 제공되고 있는 추세이며, 위치정보인식시스템과 결합된 서비스에 많은 관심이 높아졌다. 본고에서는 GPS(Global Positioning System)의 신호가 미치지 못하는 건물의 실내환경에 적합한 경로 안내서비스 및 지하시설물 안내 등 초정밀 실내 측위 서비스를 제공하기 위한 융합 측위 방안을 제안한다. 융합 측위 방안은 실내외 연속 측위를 위해 실외에서는 GPS를 이용하고 실내환경에서는 WLAN 기반의 측위 전용 AP(Access Point)를 이용, 전파신호의 LoS(Line of Sight)를 확보하여 측위하고 전파음영지역에서는 스마트폰의 가속도, 자이로센서 등 여러 가지 관성센서를 활용하여 PDR(Pedestrian Dead Reckoning) 알고리즘 등을 적용하여 측위한다. 또한 측위 정확도 향상 및 오차를 줄이기 위한 방법으로 LSE(Least Squire Estimation) 및 EKF(Extended Kalman Filter), KNN(K-Neighbor Node)/MSSM(Maximum Signal Strength Model) Algorithm 등 다양한 융합 측위 알고리즘을 적용하여 실내환경에 적합한 최적의 초정밀 실내 측위 서비스를 제공한다.

  • 자율이동로봇에 있어서 기본적이면서도 가장 중요한 문제 중의 하나는 자신의 위치를 추정하는 것이다. 만약 로봇 자신이 어디에 있는지 알지 못한다면 효과적으로 로봇의 동작을 계획할 수도 없을 뿐 아니라, 목표물을 찾을 수도 없으며 목표에 도달하는 데 있어서도 상당한 문제가 생기게 된다. 이미 로봇의 자기 위치추정 문제에 대해서는 GPS, 시각, 레이져, 초음파 센서등을 이용한 많은 기술들이 개발된 상태이다. 하지만 각각의 방법들에 있어서 정확성의 향상은 하드웨어 비용의 증가와 추가 전력을 고려해야 하는 등의 문제를 가져오게 되었다. 문제의 핵심은 저렴하면서도 손쉽고 정확한 값을 갖는 알고리즘을 개발하는 데 있다고 할 수 있는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 초음파 센서를 이용하여 이러한 문제에 대한 만족할 만한 답을 얻고자 한다.

Indoor Positioning System using Incident Angle Detection of Infrared sensor (적외선 센서의 입사각을 이용한 실내 위치인식 시스템)

  • In this paper, a new indoor positioning system based on incident angle measurement of infrared sensor has been suggested. Though there have been various researches on indoor positioning systems using vision sensor or ultrasonic sensor, they have not only advantages, but also disadvantages. In a new positioning system, there are three infrared emitters on fixed known positions. An incident angle sensor measures the angle differences between each two emitters. Mathematical problems to determine the position with angle differences and position information of emitters has been solved. Simulations and experiments have been implemented to show the performance of this new positioning system. The results of simulation were good. Since there existed problems of noise and signal conditioning, the experimented has been implemented in limited area. But the results were acceptable. This new positioning method can be applied to any indoor systems that need absolute position information.

  • Recently, due to emerging technologies such as radio frequency identification(RFID), global positioning system(GPS), and wireless mobile communication technologies, it is possible to build up the infrastructure for tracking and tracing product logistics data at any place and at any time. However, for implementing the infrastructure, it is necessary to develop a suitable management method for product logistics data. To this end, this study deals with a resource description framework(RDF) based modeling and application method for product logistics data in the ubiquitous environment. It will give us the capability to control product logistics data, which leads to streamline logistics operations.

Hotspot Analysis of Korean Twitter Sentiments (한국어 트위터 감정의 핫스팟 분석)

  • A hotspot is a spatial pattern that properties or events of spaces are densely revealed in a particular area. Whereas location information is easily captured with increasing use of mobile devices, so is not our emotion unless asking directly through a survey. Tweet provides a good way of analyzing such spatial sentiment, but relevant research is hard to find. Therefore, we analyzed hotspots of emotion in the twitter using spatial autocorrelation. 10,142 tweets and related GPS data were extracted. Sentiment of tweets was classified into good or bad with a support vector machine algorithm. We used Moran's I and Getis-Ord $G_i^*$ for global and local spatial autocorrelation. Some hotspots were found significant and drawn on Seoul metropolitan area map. These results were found very similar to an earlier conducted official survey of happiness index.

  • Location tracking system represents position by searching objects and humans. In this paper I would like to write about RF chip support Zigbee which is called CC2420. In simulated network circumstance, we can get the information about mobile-node by sending it to sink-node. Position finding is in error by 3m at outdoor environment. The error scale is acceptable within easy range of naked eyes. It can be overcome by using GPS information and Google maps with the wireless networking background.

  • 스마트폰 사용의 보편화와 센서기술의 발달로 이를 응용하는 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 특히 가속도, GPS, 조도, 방향센서 등의 센서들이 스마트폰에 부착되어 출시되고 있어서, 이를 이용한 상황인지, 행동인식 등의 관련 연구들이 활발하다. 하지만 다양한 클래스를 분류하면서 높은 인식률을 유지하는 것은 어려운 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 인식률 향상을 위해 계층적 구조의 순환 신경망을 이용하여 제스처를 인식한다. 스마트폰의 가속도 센서를 이용하여 사용자의 제스처 데이터를 수집하고 BLSTM(Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory) 구조의 순환신경망을 계층적으로 사용하여, 20가지 사용자의 제스처와 비제스처를 분류한다. 약 24,850개의 시퀀스 데이터를 사용하여 실험한 결과, 기존 BLSTM은 평균 89.17%의 인식률을 기록한 반면 계층적 BLSTM은 평균 91.11%의 인식률을 나타내었다.
