  • An analysis of laminar mixed convection flow adjacent to the inclined flat surface which is subjected to a uniform temperature in a uniform free stream is performed. Nonsimilar boundary layed equation are derived by using the mixed convection parameters such that smooth transition from the purely forced convection limit to the purely free convection limit is possible. The governing equations are solved by a finite difference method using the coupled box scheme of sixth order. Numerical results are presented for prandtl numbers of 0.7 and 7 with the angle of inclination ranging from 0 to 90 degree from the vertical. The velocity distributions for the buoyancy assisting flow exhibit a significant overshoot above the free stream value in the region of intense mixed convection and the velocity field is found to be more sensitive to the buoyancy effect than the temperature field. The separation point near the wall was obtained for the buoyancy opposing flow. The local Nusselt number increases for buoyancy assisting flow and decreases for opposing flow with increasing value of the local Grashoff number in the mixed convection parameter. For large Prandtl number, the Nusselt number and the friction factor decrease significantly near the separation point. Present numerical predictions are in good agreement with recent experimental results by Ramachandran.

  • The problem of mixed convection in a differentially heated lid-driven square cavity filled with Cu-water nanofluid under effect of a magnetic field is investigated numerically. The left and right walls of the cavity are kept at temperatures of $T_h$ and $T_c$ respectively while the horizontal walls are adiabatic. The top wall of the cavity moves in own plane from left to right. The effects of some pertinent parameters such as Richardson number (ranging from 0.1 to 10), the volume fraction of the nanoparticles (ranging 0 to 0.1) and the Hartmann number (ranging from 0 to 60) on the fluid flow and temperature fields and the rate of heat transfer in the cavity are investigated. It must be noted that in all calculations the Prandtl number of water as the pure fluid is kept at 6.8, while the Grashof number is considered fixed at 104. The obtained results show that the rate of heat transfer increases with an increase of the Reynolds number, while but it decreases with increase in the Hartmann number. Moreover it is found that based the Richardson and Hartmann numbers by increase in volume fraction of the nanoparticles the rate of heat transfer can be enhanced or deteriorated compared to the based fluid.

  • Purpose: A large number of attributes with mixed levels are often considered in the conjoint analysis. In the cases where attributes have two or three levels, we research on the efficient design of survey questionnaire to estimate all the main effect and two factor interaction effects with a reasonable size of it. Methods: To reduce the number of questions in a questionnaire, the balanced incomplete block mixed level factorial design with minimum aberration was proposed by Lim and Chung (2016). Based on the number of questions and that of the respondents in that design, D-optimality criterion is adopted to find efficient designs where the main effect and two factor interaction effects are estimated. Results: The list of the number of questions and that of the respondents in efficient designs for survey questionnaire are recommended based on the D-efficiency of each design and the proposed selection criteria for the number of both questions and the respondents. By analyzing all the respondents survey data generated by the simulation study, we find the proper model. Conclusion: The proposed methods of designing survey questionnaires seem to perform well in the sense that how often the proper model is found in a simulation study where all the respondents survey data are generated by the simulation model.

  • In this paper, we proposed a mixed algerian to improve decimal division speed. In the binary number system, nonrestoring algorithm has a smaller number of operation than restoring algorithm. In decimal number system however, the number of operations differs with respect to quotient values. Since one digit ranges 0 to 9 in decimal, the proposed mixed algerian employs both nonrestoring and restoring algorithm considering current partial remainder values. The proposed algorithm chooses either restoring or nonrestoring algerian based on the remainder values. The proposed algorithm improves computation speed substantially over a single algorithm decreasing the number of operations.

  • Residue Number System has carry free operation and parallelism each modulus, So it is used for special purpose processor such as Digital Signal Processing and Neuron Processor. Magnitude comparison and sign detection are in need of Mixed Radix Conversion, and these operations are impediment to improve the operation speed. So in this Paper, MRC(Mixed Radix Converter) is designed using modified partitioned residue to speed up the operation of MRC, so it has progressed maximum twice operation time but increased the size of converter comparison to other converter.

  • Experiment and numerical calculation have been peformed to investigate mixed convection heat transfer between inclined parallel plates. Particle image velocimetry (PIV) with thermo-sensitive liquid crystal (TLC) tracers is used for visualizing and analysis. This method allows simultaneous measurement of velocity and temperature fields at a given instant of time. Quantitative data of the temperature and velocity are obtained by applying the color-image processing to a visualized image, and neural network is applied to the color-to-temperature calibration. The governing equations are discretized using the finite volume method. The results are presented for the Reynolds number ranges from 0.004 to 0.062, the angle of inclination, ${\Theta}$, from 0 to 45 degree and Prandtl number of the high viscosity fluid is 909. The results show velocity, temperature and mean Nusselt numbers distributions. It is found that the periodic flow of mixed convection between inclined parallel plates is shown at $0^{\circ}{\leq}{\Theta}<30^{\circ}$, Re<0.062, and the flow pattern can be classified into three patterns which depend on Reynolds number and the angle of inclination. The minimum Nusselt numbers occur at Re=0.05 regardless of the angle of inclination.

  • Mixed calculations involving fractions and decimals covered in the unit 6-Na in elementary school math class cause students difficulties, leading them make lots of errors. If students fail to understand temporarily or partly what the teacher taught or lose confidence and continue to have difficulty due to a lack of understanding and skills of algorithm, though they properly understand the concept and principle of the learning content, it should be resolved through intensive teaching. For students suffering from this problem, a correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment are required. Therefore, this study developed a feedback program after diagnosing students' errors through evaluating them in order to continuously assist them to fully understand contents regarding mixed calculations involving fractions and decimals.

  • The PIV(Particle Image Velocimetry) with liquid crystal tracers is used for visualizing and analysis of the mixed convection in the parallel plates with the upper part cooled and the lower part heated. It is found that the flow pattern of mixed convection in the parallel plates can be classified into three patterns which was affected by Reynolds number. Also, the periodic nature is confirmed, and visualized in experiment.

  • Outliers may occur with respect to any of the random components in mixed linear models. We develop a use of simple, inexpensive updating formulas to consider the effect of case-deletion for mixed linear models. The method described here requires inversions of an n x n matrix, where n is the number of nonempty cells. A numerical example illustrates the use of computational formulas.

  • The paper reviews gauge R&R studies by two-factor mixed models including random and fixed factors. The two-factor mixed models include restricted models and unrestricted models considering the interaction of two factors. This study also classifies the models according to the number of factors, and the combination of various factors such as random factor, fixed factor, block factor and repetition type.
