특발성 치은증식증의 치험례 (IDIOPATHIC GINGIVAL HYPERPLASIA)

  • Idiopathic gingival hyperplasia is a rare condition of undetermined etiology. The enlargement is usually associated with the emergence of the teeth into the oral cavity and may regress after extraction. The enlarged gingiva may be primarily attributed to hyperplasia of the subepithelial layer that is relatively avascular and consists of densely arranged collagen bundles and numerous fibroblasts. The recommended time for treatment is after completion of eruption of permanent teeth. But the most important thing is the patient's psychological and esthetic needs. Lately, Schluger has proposed modified gingivectomy procedure with horizontal, internal beveled incision for thinning of the flap resulting in less pain and bleeding after treatment, minimal opportunity of infection. The purpose of this report is to document a case of 8-year-old girl who had registered in Dept. of Pediatric Dentistry of Seoul National University dental hospital for treatment of her gingival hyperplasia and delayed tooth eruption

X-Hypercubes의 연결성과 그 응용 (Conncetiveity of X-Hypercubes and Its Applications)

  • Hypercubes와 유사한 구조를 가진 X-hypercubes는 hypercubes와 같은수의 node와 edge를 갖고 있다.그러나 node들을 연결한는 방법을 약간 바꾸어 줌으로써 X-hypercubes내의 node들간의 통신시의 delay는 hypercubes 의 그것보다 훨씬 적어지는 것을 기대할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 X-hypercubes를 새롭게 정의함으로써 두 node들 간의 연결에 관한 조건들을 명확히 해준다.이 정의에 대한 응용으로서,본 논문은 hypercubes 를 X-hypercubes로 그리고 X-hypercubes 를 hypercubes로 embedding시키는 algorthm을 보여준다.이는 이들 두 network에서 운용되는 program 들이 최소한 overhead만으로써 서로 호완될 수 있음을 말해준다.또한 본 논문은 hypercubes 에서의 bitionic merge sort를 simulate함으로써,X-hypercubes에서 운용될 수 있는 bitonic merge sort도 보여주고 있다.

The supraclavicular artery island flap: a salvage option for head and neck reconstruction

  • Background: Some of head and neck cancer patients are in compromised general condition after ablation surgery and chemoradiation therapy, which makes secondary free tissue transfer quite challenging. Elderly cancer patients also have some risk for microvascular surgery with lengthened general anesthesia. In those cases, the pedicled flap vascularized by supraclavicular artery could be considered as an alternative to free flap. Despite several authors have demonstrated the clinical reliability of supraclavicular artery island flap (SCAIF), to date, SCAIF has not been widely used among reconstructive surgeon. In this article, we clarified vascular flow pattern and introduce simple surgical technique of SCAIF with a literature review. Case presentation: Three patients who had underwent previous neck surgery and adjuvant therapy received maxillofacial reconstruction using SCAIF. It required only a few landmarks, flap harvesting was carried out, and the elapsed time gradually decreased to 15 min with experiences. There were no remarkable morbidities in both donor and recipient sites. Conclusion: SCAIF exhibited minimal anatomic variations and short learning curve of surgical techniques, which might be valuable reconstruction modality for beginning surgeon. And it can be beneficial option for the patients with vessel-depleted neck, medically compromised status for lengthened general anesthesia and failed free tissue transfer.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae와 candida cariosilignicola사이의 세포융합에 관한 연구 (Protoplast fusion between saccharomyces cerevisiae and candida cariosilignicola)

  • This research was focused on investigation of the condition for protoplast formation and regeneration of protoplast fusion between Saccharomyces cerevisiae which has fermentation ability and Candida cariosilignicola which can grow at high temperature and utilize methanol. The results obtained were as follows; The highest production was collected in exponential growth phase. Ninety-nine% protoplast formation of C. cariosilignicola was obtained in glycin-NaOH buffer (pH10.0) containing Zymolyase 0.5mg/ml at $35^{\circ}C$ for 1hr incubation. The highest regeneration was produced when protoplast wuwpension containing 0.5% soft agar in buffered 50mM $CaCl_{2}$ was poured as a soft overlay onto 2% agar plates. Equal amuont of protoplast suspension of two strains was mixed and centrifuged. The subsequent pellet was added to 2ml of 35% polyethylene glycol (MW 4,000) containing 50mM $CaCl_{2}$, and incubated at $30^{\circ}C$ for 10min. Then 0.1ml of the suspension of aggregated protoplast was immediately covered with minimal medium and incubated at $40^{\circ}C$ for 5-7 days. As results, $SC_{1}$, $SC_{2}$, and $SC_{3}$ fusants were obtained. The physiological characteristics of fusants produced by protoplast fusion were; $SC_{1}$, and $SC_{2}$ utilized maltose, galactose, methanol, potassium nitrate. $SC_{3}$ utilized all the above materials except galactose.

  • A biosurfactant-producing microorganism was isolated from activated sludge by enrichment culture when grown on a minimal salt medium containing n-hexadecane as a sole carbon source. This microorganism was identified as Pseudomonas sp. and it was named Pseudomonas sp. EL-G527. It's optimal culture condition is 2% n-hexadecane, 0.2% NH$_4$NO$_3$, 0.3% KH$_2$PO$_4$, 0.3% $K_2$HPO$_4$, 0.02% MgSO$_4$ㆍ7$H_2O$, 0.0025% CaCk$_2$ㆍ6$H_2O$, 0.0015% FeSO$_4$ㆍ7$H_2O$ in 1$\ell$ distilled water and initial pH 7.0. Cultivation was initiated with a 2% inoculum obtained from starter cultures grown in 30 $m\ell$ of the same medium in 250 $m\ell$ flask. They were cultivated at 3$0^{\circ}C$ in reciprocal shaking incubator and the highest biosurfactant production was observed after 4 days.

고성능 유도전동기 구동을 위한 자동 튜닝 Anti-windup 기법 (Tuning-free Anti-windup Strategy for High Performance Induction Machine Drives)

  • 본 논문에서는 PI형태의 속도제어기를 장착한 고성능 유도전동기의 조건부 적분형 자동 튜닝 anti-windup 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법에서는 전동기 운전 조건에 대한 사전 정보 없이도 전동기 토오크 지령의 주파수 해석에 의해서 적분기 온/오프 시점이 결정된다. 따라서, 사용자는 anti-windup 동작을 위한 별도의 제어 상수를 설정하지 않아도 된다. 또한, 동작 조건이 변동하여도 과도 상태의 속도는 항상 최소한의 오버슈우트와 점착시간을 가지도록 동작한다. 본 기법은 속도 및 토오크 응답의 오버슈우트를 허용하지 않는 유도전동기 고성능 응용 분야에 유용하게 적용 될 수 있으며, 기본 개념은 화학 공정이나 산업용 로봇과 같은 일반 산업 응용 분야에도 확대 적용 가능하다.

  • 본 논문은 대용량의 데이터베이스 내에서 유용한 정보를 검색하기 위해 웹 기반하에 적응형 정보추출 에이전트 모듈 설계이다. 인터넷을 통한 정보 검색이 일반화됨에 따라 검색시간의 최소화를 기하면서 사용자의 요구조건에 맞는 유용한 정보 제공이 필요하다. 구축되는 지식베이스 시스템의 스키마 구성요소의 도메인이 이진 검색이 가능한 필드 도메인이 있는 가하면 그렇지 않은 불확실한 도메인도 존재한다. 최초의 대용량 지식베이스에서 사용자의 자연어 질의어에 대해 러프셋의 리턱트롤 통해 최소지식베이스를 생성한 후, 축소된 스키마의 도메인의 불확실성찬 값에 대한 연산을 처리는 퍼지합성 연산처리 모듈에 의해 소프팅 컴퓨팅이 수행토록 설계하였다.

  • The design sensitivity analysis based on the finite element method is presented for the eddy current problem with a voltage source. Since, in this problem, the complex variable is used as the state variable, new approach to the sensitivity calculation for the complex variable system is required. Its result is applied to the design of the rotor slot shape of squirrel cage induction motor. As a analysis model, only one slot pitch of rotor is analyzed by using a Periodic boundary condition. The use of this minimal modelling method leads to much saving of calculation time. The design objective is to obtain the desired slip-torque characteristic. Because the shape of rotor slot has much influence on the slip torque characteristic, the design variables are taken on the interface shape between rotor core and rotor bar. The initial shape of rotor slot is the trapezoidal type with rounding corners. The obtained final shape is quite similar to the double squirrel cage type.

역삼투법 해수담수화 전처리 여과공정의 최적조건 (Determination of the optimum filtration conditions in pretreatment of seawater desalination by reverse osmosis)

  • This study examines the optimum filtration conditions in pretreatment of seawater desalination by reverse osmosis. For this purpose, Masan bay seawater is treated through a gravity filter column while $FeCl_3$ is added as coagulant. The conditions of coagulantd osage, media depth, filtration rate, and backwash time are evaluated. The study results show that the filtrate quality improved with increasing coagulant dosage, but head loss rapidly increased. After 4mg/L, the unit filter run volume reduced to less than $200m^3/m^2$. Considering the head loss development, 4mg/L is determined as the optimum dosage. The better filtrate qualities are obtained with depth of 100cm than that of 80cm. The two stage filtration, which outperformed the single stage filtration, is suggested for treatment of Masan bay. The filtration rate of 5m/h is decided as the optimum condition considering the head loss development. At 10m/h, the filtrate quality deteriorated even though the extent was minimal, and head loss increased rapidly. The backwash time of 10 min is decided appropriate.

Natural Dyeing Using Tea Extract I - The Effect Of Mordants On Dyeing Characteristics Of Coffee Extract Dyed Silk Fabric -

  • Natural dyes have attracted the worldwide attention because of its environmental advantage over synthetic dyes. However, most of natural dyes are expensive for mass production, strongly season and source dependent, and hard to store. In this study, coffee waste were used as natural dye to create beautiful colors. Coffee waste is inexpensive and easy to store, and provides a comparatively regular quality regardless of seasonand source. The effects of mordant agent concentration and mordanting temperature on dyeing efficiency of silk fabrics were investigated. Coffee extract dyed silk showed brilliant colors, and the colors were different with the kind of mordants. Cu, Sn, and Al mordanted silks showed golden yellow with subtle change of hue and value, while Fe mordanted silk showed a brownish green color. The increase in mordant concentration did not always increase the dyeability, and 0.5% o.w.f. mordant concentration was enough to get a satifactory result. Mordanting temperature also had little effect on the dyeability in case of Al, Cu, and Sn mordanted fabrics. Only Fe mordanted fabrics showed a better dyeability in the increase in mordating temperature. Coffee extract dyeing is an effective way using waste as resource and can create brilliant colors with minimal amount of mordant and under mild mordanting condition.
