  • In military applications of equipment, it is of the utmost importance that the equipment operates without breakdown for a specified length of time. We can increase the reliability of a system by adding redundant components to the basic nonredundant system. This study introduces a dynamic programming algorithm of finding optimum redundant design that maximizes the system reliability with constraints.

  • This is a boundary integral formulation for elastic shallow shell structures subjected to both membrane and bending loads. Fundamental solutions for shell actions are determined from the plate solutions and, finally the corresponding kernel functions for shell BIEs can be constructed. It is illustrated by solving an example of uniform load of spherical cap.

That Adler talked, it classified life style with the socially useful type, the ruling type, the getting type and the avoiding type. This governing form of the socially useful type sees, the ruling type grew the getting type and the avoiding type compared to military merit satisfactory boat song. Like this results military merit satisfactory degree of stroke engineering school lifestyle professionalism as dental technician company route period operates with the VIP who is important for is the thing. The research of the program development for the course map and the military merit duty selection map of restricted point and stroke engineering school lifestyle of the research which it sees discussed is necessary. The results are as following. 1. the types of Life-style ; the ruling type 31.3%, the getting type & the avoiding type 27.4%, the negative social type 26.6%, the socially useful type 14.8%. 2. the Major satisfaction ; the socially useful type 3.59, the ruling type 3.55, the negative social type 3.51, the getting type and the avoiding type 3.35. 3. the Campus life satisfaction ; the socially useful type 3.39, the ruling type 3.32, the negative social type 3.24, the getting type and the avoiding type 3.12.

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose a notification service for preventing unexpected accidents which will be occurred by enlisted men's stress in Korean Army. For this purpose we first evaluate the enlisted men's stress with reliable evaluation tools through survey. A representative sample size of about 1,500 enlisted men from all seven unit types was selected and surveyed considering types of unit, ranks, and regional characteristics. In the second, we analyse the results of level of stresses and stress reactions to distinguish high potential enlisted men who will happen to accident. Through the second step, we know enlisted men's stress reactions are different depending their unit types. Therefore the basic information about their stresses will be judged respectively according to their unit types. In the final step, we propose a notification service that offer the information about high potential enlisted men who will happen to accident to their managers rapidly through military Intranet and information systems. Their managers will get the previous information about occurrence of unexpected accidents and have time to check various things before they are occurred. We hope the proposed service contributes to prevent unexpected accidents and reduce the effort of military managers. Furthermore this paper offers several recommendations to apply the proposed service to Korean Army.

  • The purpose of this paper is to recommend the Ministry of Defense(MOD) for revolutionizing the current defense education system. As an instructor and an education planning officer of the ROK Army College, for last dozen months, the author has been embarrassed whenever tried to figure out what would be the role, functions, and educational goals of the college. In a nutshell, there has not been any general guidance for educating field grade officers. This unbelievable defect mainly comes from the absence of a responsible organization in the MOD. Even though it has the education branch under the department of personnel affairs, it doesn't have capabilities to design and implement the consistent and valuable education policy. Therefore, the development of defense education should begin with reinforcing the organization and functions of the MOD education branch. We need more experts on education( i.e. Ph.Ds of Education) and experienced specialties on defense education so that we could develop the overall guidance for military professional education. In addition, we need to enact the "defense or military education act" in a tentative name. This will ensure the legitimacy and continuity of defense education guidance initiated by the MOD. In a conclusion, it is senseless to think the blueprint for the Army College out until the preconditions mentioned above are matured. We must begin with rectifying the higher educational system.

  • Database for the damage reference by armor piercing bullet test was established for both tube and plate specimens having a range of thickness. As the inclined angles of hit are increasing, it has been found that penetration damage diameter tends to increases accordingly in both specimen of the tube and plate, and such penetration damage diameter on the rear side becomes bigger than those on the front side. The tube specimen showed that the damage becomes bigger when central areas rather than the peripheral were hit. Through the plate test, it also has been found that the penetration ballistic limit for Al alloy is about 25.4mm and that of stainless steel about 12.7mm. From the fatigue analysis results using the database for damage reference, it has been identified whether the safety requirements of military aircraft could be met.
