중년여성의 벨리댄스 참여에 따른 패션·뷰티관여도 (An Analysis of Middle-Aged Women's Involvement in Fashion and Beauty Depending on Their Participation in Belly Dance)

  • Today, people are obsessed with fashion, makeup, hair care, weight control, and plastic surgery. In order to be satisfied with their appearance and attract attention, they invest so much time and money. The core values of many people are influenced heavily by materialism and appearance. Belly dancing is effective not only in just weight loss, but it also improves the health and corrects body postures like pelvis correction, and it also gives the dancers the pleasure of dancing to exotic music. A growing number of women in their 40s or older and senior citizens have become maniacs of belly dancing. The studies suggest that the participation in belly dancing helps increase life satisfaction and self-respect of the middle aged who often suffer from depression. Belly dancing has a strong effect in the life style of the middle-aged women. The costume and accessories necessary for belly dancing class help the participants) focus on the dance. These costumes and accessories reflect the desire of the wearer to be recognized in society. It is well shown in belly dancing that "fashion and beauty related services and products are used as an indicator to tell social status and position of the wearer as external elements like clothes, accessories, and physical appearance and have a highly important effect on interactions among people in society as a means of expressing oneself". In this respect, this study aims to examine middle-aged women's involvement in fashion and beauty depending on their participation in belly dancing.

발레 바와 탄성밴드의 복합운동이 중년여성의 신체조성, 체력, 자세교정에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Ballet Bar and Elastic Band Exercise on Body Composition, Physical Fitness and Postural Correction in Middle-Aged Women)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a combined exercise program using a ballet bar and elastic bands on the body composition, physical strength, and postural correction of middle-aged women. Methods : The subjects were 28 middle-aged women with no ballet experience. They were divided into an experimental group (n=14; exercise group) and a control group (n=14; non-exercise group) through random sampling. The experimental group underwent an exercise program using a ballet bar and elastic bands for 50 minutes twice a week for 12 weeks, whereas the control group performed no exercise. The subjects in both group had their body composition, physical fitness, and postural angles measured before and after the intervention. A paired t-test was used to compare pre- and post-test values within each group, and a two-way repeated measures ANOVA was employed to compare pre- and post-test changes between the two groups. Results : Regarding body composition, statistically significant differences in BMI (p<.05), body fat percentage (p<.001), and muscle mass (p<.001) were observed between the two groups before and after the intervention. For physical fitness, the experimental group showed statistically significant increases in quick reflexes (p<.001), muscle endurance (p<.001), and muscle strength (p<.001). For postural correction, the experimental group exhibited statistically significant decreases in all variables: the head (p<.001), shoulder (p<.001), cervical tilt (p<.001), right-left pelvic tilt (p<.001), and anterior-posterior pelvic tilt (p<.001). Conclusion : A combined exercise program using a ballet bar and elastic bands had positive effects on the body composition, physical fitness, and postural correction of middle-aged women.

중년여성의 신체부위 인지유형에 따른 신체만족도와 착의 의복 스타일 (Body Cathexis and Actual Clothing Styles of Middle-aged Women According to Perception of Their Body)

  • This study is designed for improving wearing styles for middle-aged women who are in unsatisfactory body types and also providing the basic information about the suitable clothing designs for them. This study focuses on what kinds of body types they perceive, what the differences are between the perception of their body types and the real ones, and how the actual clothing styles can be affected by those perceived body types. This study is based on the survey of the perception of body types, the clothing styles, and the satisfaction level of body cathexis, while measuring body size of each person responded. The data were analyzed by Mean, ANOVA, Duncan-test of SPSS Win. (ver 10.1)program. The results are as follows: 1. The perception of their body types can be categorized into three clusters, the obesity, the arm & leg obesity, the slender. 2. By and large, Middle-aged women perceive their body types exactly what they we. However, they show a relatively subjective view on the upper arm girth, ankle girth, and arm length 3. The abdomen is at the lowest satisfactory part in body cathexis for the entire groups responded, and there are some differences among the perception of their body types in whole body silhouette and trunk. 4. Middle-aged women who perceive themselves as a bit slender show a tendency of having tight and revealing clothing styles, while the obese who perceived themselves wouldn't take them as appropriate dresses.

영양관리와 운동이 중년 비만여성의 혈중 호모시스테인 수준과 항산화 영양소 섭취에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Nutritional Management and Exercise on Serum Homocystein Level and Antioxidant Intake in Middle Aged Obese Women)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the association of homocysteine and antioxidant nutrients with obesity in Korean middle aged women. The study subjects included were middle-aged obese women (n=36) whose body mass index (BMI) was greater than $25kg/m^2$. A total of 36 participants were randomly divided into two groups. They were assigned to either the Nutritional Management and Exercise (NME) program or the Exercise Management (EM) program, which were both conducted for 3 months. We measured serum homocysteine, total cholesterol and HDL cholesterol levels of the participant. We also measured the dietary intakes of antioxidant nutrient, cholesterol, body weight, body mass index, blood pressure, and $VO_2$. At the end of both programs, please confirm this change. It was unclear when these measurements were shown to have decreased. The body weight and BMI of NME group were decreased compared to those of EM group. The serum total cholesterol levels of the participants in NME group were significantly decreased, in contrast to EM group. Also, serum homocysteine levels of NME group participants were decreased compared to EM group, but the difference was not statistically significant. In the NME group, there were significant differences in the change of dietary cholesterol and vitamin C intake. These results showed that participating NME program will continuously promote the healthy status of the middle aged obese women, compared to participating only in the EM program.

우울증 중년여성을 위한 영화치료 프로그램의 효과 (Effect of the Cinema Therapy Program for Middle-Aged Women with Depression)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 REBT(인지적 정서적 행동적 치료)를 기반으로 한 영화치료 프로그램이 우울증 중년여성의 우울과 자아존중감, 정서표현성, 대인관계능력에 미치는 효과를 확인하기 위하여 시도되었으며, 연구설계는 비동등성 대조군 전후설계를 한 유사 실험연구이다. 연구대상은 G도시의 정신보건 센터에 등록되어있는 우울증 중년여성 44명 (실험군 23명과 대조군 21명) 이었으며 자료 분석은 SPSS/Win 17.0 Program을 사용하여 ${\chi}^2$-test, Fisher's exact test, t-test로 분석하였다. 실험결과 우울증 중년여성에게 활용한 REBT기반 영화치료 프로그램은 우울을 감소시키고, 자아존중감, 정서표현성, 대인관계능력을 향상시키는데 효과적인 프로그램임이 확인되었다. 따라서 REBT기반 영화치료 프로그램은 지역사회의 정신사회적 재활 중재 프로그램으로 활용되기를 기대한다.

DASH 식이 교육 프로그램이 중년 여성의 골밀도에 미치는 효과: 예비 조사 결과 (The Effect of the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) Diet Education Program on Bone Mineral Density in the Middle-aged Women: A Pilot Study)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop the dietary approaches to stop hypertension (DASH) diet education program tailored to Korean adults and to examine the effect of the DASH diet education program on bone mineral density in middle aged women. Methods: The subjects of this study were 26 middle aged women, pre and post menopause, who attend a church located in Kyung-In district. The DASH group I (n=13) was provided with the DASH diet education program only, while the DASH group II (n=13) was provided with DASH diet education program along with calcium supplements (1 g/day). The DASH diet education program included one lecture on DASH diet, one face to face counseling, and five telephone counseling sessions during the 8 weeks period. Results: The knowledge and subjective compliance level of DASH diet increased significantly in both groups, at 4 and 8 weeks after the intervention. The level of objective compliance of DASH diet in both groups increased over the study period, but it was not significant as compared to those of the baseline. Bone mineral density of both groups decreased at 8weeks as compared to the baseline after the intervention. Conclusion: Although 8weeks of DASH diet education program increased the knowledge and compliance of DASH diet, it was not effective to bring the changes in bone mineral density among the middle aged women.

기능적 의료정보 이해능력이 건강증진행위에 미치는 영향 (The influence of functional health literacy on health promotion behavior)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 중년 여성의 기능적 의료정보 이해능력과 건강증진행위의 관련성을 파악하고자 시행되었다. 연구대상은 K도와 D광역시 1개에 거주하는 40~64세의 중년 여성으로 편의추출 방식으로 수집하였다. 연구결과 중년 여성의 기능적 의료정보 이해능력은 13점 만점에 $4.75{\pm}2.98$점, 건강증진행위는 5점 만점에 $2.30{\pm}0.55$점으로 낮게 나타났다. 기능적 의료정보 이해능력과 건강증진행위는 양의 상관관계가 있다고 나타났으며, 기능적 의료정보 이해능력은 연령, 교육수준 등의 인구사회학적 요인을 통제한 상태에서 중년 여성의 건강증진행위에 유의한 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 의료정보 이해능력이 향상될수록 건강증진행위를 증가시킬 수 있다는 결과이다. 따라서 중년 여성을 위한 맞춤식 교육프로그램 및 의료정보 이해능력을 효과적으로 향상시킬 수 있는 전략을 개발하고 그 효과를 검증하는 연구가 지속되어야 할 것을 제안하는 바이다.

어깨 충돌 증후군을 가진 중년 여성에게 모션테이핑이 근경직도 및 근긴장도와 통증에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Motion Taping on Muscle Tone, Muscle Stiffness, and Pain in Middle-Aged Women with Shoulder Impingement Syndrome)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the effects of motion taping on muscle stiffness, muscle tone, and pain in middle-aged women with shoulder impingement syndrome. Methods: The participants comprised 30 middle-aged women with shoulder impingement syndrome. This study measured muscle stiffness, muscle tone, and pain. In the experimental group, the tape was attached after physical therapy; the control group only received physical therapy. In the intervention period, the treatment program was conducted three times a week for a total of four weeks, and the values before and after the intervention were compared and analyzed. For statistical processing, a correspondence test was performed before and after the intervention at a significance level of 0.05, and the comparison between the groups, before and after the intervention, was made using an independent test. Results: In the experimental group, there was a difference in muscle stiffness, muscle tone, and intensity of pain. In addition, there was a significant difference between the control group's emotional domain regarding muscular stiffness and pain and the experimental group. However, there was no significant difference in muscle tone and grade of pain, and intensity of pain for the control group. Conclusion: This study showed that, when physical therapy and motion taping were administered to middle-aged women with shoulder impingement syndrome, it had a more positive affect on the sensory and emotional parts of the muscle tone and pain compared to physical therapy alone.

복부부위에 대한 기계적 마사지 처치가 중년여성의 체성분, 허리둘레 및 복부지방면적 감소에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Mechanical Massage on Body Composition, Waist Circumference and Abdominal Fat Area in Middle-aged Obese Women)

  • 본 연구는 중년여성들의 복부지방 과다 축적에 의해 발생하는 건강상의 문제들을 해결하는데 도움을 주고자 복부부위에 대한 기계적인 마사지 처치가 체성분, 허리둘레 및 복부지방면적의 감소에 미치는 효과를 규명하고자 하였다. WHR 0.85 이상의 복부비만 중년여성 10명을 대상으로 1회 20~30분씩 1일 2회, 주 5일, 4주간 총 40회의 기계적 마사지 처치를 시행하였으며, 처치 전·후 각 변인의 변화를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 체중, 체지방율, 허리둘레, 내장지방 면적, 복부 피하지방 면적, 복부 총지방 면적 등 모든 측정항목에서 유의한 감소가 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 고려할 때 복부부위에 대한 기계적 마사지 처치는 복부비만 중년여성들의 복부지방 감소에 도움을 주는 효율적인 방법이며, 나아가 복부지방으로 인해 야기되는 다양한 심혈관계 질환 및 대사성 질환의 예방과 치료에 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

1인 가구 중년여성의 시간 사용 인지에 따른 생활시간 실태 연구 (The Study on the Pattern of Using Daily Behaviors by Time-Use Perception of Middle-Aged Women in One-Person Households)

  • 본 연구는 2019년 통계청의 생활시간조사 데이터를 활용하여 도시에서 거주하고 있는 1인 가구 40, 50대 중년여성 594명을 대상으로 시간 부족과 여유로 구분하여 시간인지 정도에 따라 일상생활-주 활동의 수행에 소비하는 시간량 패턴에 대하여 알아보았다. 일상생활 행동별 시간량의 차이에서는 두 그룹 모두 개인 관리에 상대적으로 많은 시간을 소비하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 시간 부족 그룹은 일, 문화 및 여가활동, 가정관리순, 시간 여유 그룹은 문화 및 여가활동, 일, 가정관리 등의 순으로 일상 시간을 사용하였다. 1인 중년여성의 시간인지는 일상생활의 주요 행동 패턴의 차이를 보이며, 문화 및 여가활동과 일은 이들의 중요한 일상 행동으로 보인다. 이 연구는 중년층 내 1인 가구 중년여성의 시간 사용을 살펴봄으로써, 향후 노년기 삶의 질 제고를 위한 생활시간 활용 방향과 정책 지원의 기초자료를 제시하고자 한다.
