산소 플라즈마로 표면처리된 탄소섬유/에폭시 적층복합재의 전단거동 (Shear Behavior of Plasma-treated Graphite/Epoxy Laminated Composites Using Oxygen Gas)

  • In-plane shear tests were performed to investigate the shear property change of FRP by plasma modification. Graphite/epoxy prepreg was used as a test material and plasma source was a microwave (2.4GHz) type. Plasma was induced by oxygen gas and its flow rate was kept $4{\sim}5$sccm with low vacuum state of $10^{-3}$ Torr. Prepreg was stacked unidirectionally ($[0^0]_8$) after plasma modification. Wettability was determined by measuring a contact angle. The results showed that the contact angle was decreased from $86^0$ to $45^0$ after plasma modification. Shear strength was also improved by ${\sim}10%$. SEM examination was made on the fracture surface and functional group produced by the plasma modification was investigated by XPS.

  • Thick diamond film having ~700${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ thickness was deposited on polycrystalline molybdenum (Mo) substrate using high power (4kW) microwave plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (MPECVD) system. We could achieve free-standing diamond film via detaching as-deposited diamond film from the substrate by rapid cooling them under vacuum. We investigated the variation of photoconductivity after exposing the film surface to either oxygen or hydrogen plasma. At as-grown state, the growth side (the as-grown surface of the film) showed noticeable photoconductivity. The oxygen plasma treatment of this side led to the insulator. After exposing the film surface to hydrogen plasma, on the other hand, we could observe the reappearing of photoconductivity at the growth side. Based on these results, we suggest that the hydrogen plasma treatment may enhance the photoconductivity of free-standing diamond film.

  • Fabrication of carbon fiber reinforced composites was carried out by hand lay-up method. Carbon nanofibers and SiC nanofibers were used as filler in the composites fabrication. Carbon nanofibers, one of the new carbon materials, have 5∼500 nm in diameter and 5-10 nm in length. SiC nanofibers were modified by silicon monoxide vapor with carbon nanofibers. The composites were carbonized at 1000$^{\circ}C$ in a nitrogen atmosphere, and then densified by molten pitches impregnated in vacuum. Multiple cycles of liquid pitch impregnation and carbonization were carried out to obtain a desired density. The composites were characterized by density, microstructure. The inter-laminar shear strength (ILSS) test was performed for mechanical properties. For the new application, the microwave reflective proeprty of composites was investigated. Dielectric constant and permeability spectrum were measured in 12∼18 GHz frequency ranges. On the basis of the wave propagation theory in a lossy media, the reflection loss from the composite inter-layer was predict as a function of frequency.

Effect of hydrogen plasma treatment on the photoconductivity of free-standing diamond film

한국가계의 소비수준 및 표준:지속가능한 생활양식의 실현 모색 (Korean Household’s Level and Standard of Consumption: For Developing Sustainable Lifestyle)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify household’s level and standard of consumption and their related variables in order to derive some useful implications for developing sustainable lifestyle. Data were collected from 567 household wives living in Seoul and the five Metropolitan cities in Korea. The results showed that most households owned such goods as central heating system, shower and bath, refrigerator, microwave oven, vacuum cleaner, washer. TV video player, personal computer, mobile phone, and car. They thought that most of the goods were necessary for the desired level of living and has a strong aspiration to buy those goods. This implied a tendency of uniformity in need perceptions and consumption patterns among Korean households. However, level and standard of consumption measured in selected living area differed according to age. education family size, household income, occupation, and the size housing, which showed that different approach was needed for developing sustainable lifestyle according to these variables.

병원급식에서 Ready-Prepared Foodservice System 이용에 관한 연구 (A study for the utilization of ready-prepared foodservice system concept to the Korean hospital foodservice operations)

  • Here is a research on hospital foodservice system, when korea traditional food of pyeon yuk and bin dae deok were used by ready-prepared foodservice system, it was estimated the preservations of microbiological quality and sensory quality. All data collection was replicated three times. The results were as following; 1. In time and temperature data, two menu items were needed internal temperature below $7^{\circ}C$ in a cooling stage, and in the case of cook/chill storage, the days were shortened within weeks, and the holding time must be possiblely minimized. Finally foods were served sanitary. 2. In view of microbiological safety, in the case of cook/chill storage as $0{\sim}4^{\circ}C$ the days must be shortened within 2 weeks and its was possible to store until 6 weeks in $-20{\sim}-23.3^{\circ}C$. So to preserve pre-cooked food longly, it was effective to freeze them quickly by using vacuum package and to reheat them by a microwave oven before serving and to serve lastly in microbiological quality. 3. Hospital ready-prepared foodservice system with food storage in plastic bags, biochemical test of C. Perfingens C. botulinum and Salmonella were not detected. 4. By using of a microwave oven, it had effects of thawing, reheating and sterilizing of chilled and frozen foods in a short time. 5. Sensory evaluations were made by a 10-member panel using five scoring tests. Because sensory of quality was lowered in the case of chilled storage, it was possible to serve foods within 2 weeks. Texture and aroma were preserved by cook/frozen system and usually there was no significance from 4 weeks until 6 weeks, but considering of the objects, it was good to store until 4 weeks in sensory quality.

벌꿀의 전처리 공정 중 Nominal 및 Absolute Filter 적용을 통한 제균 효과에 관한 연구 (Sterilization Effectiveness by Nominal and Absolute Filter in Pre-treatments of Honey)

  • 본 연구는 벌꿀의 내포되어 있을 수 있는 미생물의 포자의 제균에 관한 연구로 선행연구로 일반세균, 대장균군, 살모넬라균, 포도상구균을 분석하였으며, 벌꿀 음료 제조 후 유통 중에 문제시 되어지고 있는 내열호산성균의 제균에 관한 연구결과이다. 분석을 위한 내열호산성균 실험법은 진공감압기를 이용하여 $0.45\;{\mu}m$ micro filter를 이용한 막분리 배양법을 이용하였다. 미생물 실험 결과 일반세균, 대장균군, 살모넬라균, 포도상구균은 모두 음성으로 나타났으며, 내열호산성균 제균을 위하여 식품의 일반 살균법을 적용한 결과 농도별 전해수 살균, 오존수 살균, 자외선살균, 일반 마이크로 필터 처리, 고온 가열 살균, microwave 살균 등 모든 제균 방법에서 균이 제어 되지 않는 것으로나타났다. 또한 마이크로 필터를 이용한 제균 처리에서도 일반 (nominal type) 필터를 사용하였을 경우 $44.8{\sim}64.5%$ 제균 효과를 나타낸 반면 absolute type의 필터를 사용하였을 경우 0.45, $0.8\;{\mu}m$ 마이크로 필터의 사용 시 모든 처리구에서 음성으로 나타나 제균 효과가 다른 살균법에 비해우수한 것으로 나타났다.

Splitting of Surface Plasmon Resonance Peaks Under TE- and TM-polarized Illumination

  • We investigate experimentally and theoretically the splitting of surface plasmon (SP) resonance peaks under TE- and TM-polarized illumination. The SP structure at infrared wavelength is fabricated with a 2-dimensional square periodic array of circular holes penetrating through Au (gold) film. In brief, the processing steps to fabricate the SP structure are as follows. (i) A standard optical lithography was performed to produce to a periodic array of photoresist (PR) circular cylinders. (ii) After the PR pattern, e-beam evaporation was used to deposit a 50-nm thick layer of Au. (iii) A lift-off processing with acetone to remove the PR layer, leading to final structure (pitch, $p=2.2{\mu}m$; aperture size, $d=1.1{\mu}m$) as shown in Fig. 1(a). The transmission is measured using a Nicolet Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) at the incident angle from $0^{\circ}$ to $36^{\circ}$ with a step of $4^{\circ}$ both in TE and TM polarization. Measured first and second order SP resonances at interface between Au and GaAs exhibit the splitting into two branches under TM-polarized light as shown in Fig. 1(b). However, as the incidence angle under TE polarization is increased, the $1^{st}$ order SP resonance peak blue-shifts slightly while the splitting of $2^{nd}$ order SP resonance peak tends to be larger (not shown here). For the purpose of understanding our experimental results qualitatively, SP resonance peak wavelengths can be calculated from momentum matching condition (black circle depicted in Fig. 2(b)), $k_{sp}=k_{\parallel}{\pm}iG_x{\pm}jG_y$, where $k_{sp}$ is the SP wavevector, $k_{\parallel}$ is the in-plane component of incident light wavevector, i and j are SP coupling order, and G is the grating momentum wavevector. Moreover, for better understanding we performed 3D full field electromagnetic simulations of SP structure using a finite integration technique (CST Microwave Studio). Fig. 1(b) shows an excellent agreement between the experimental, calculated and CST-simulated splitting of SP resonance peaks with various incidence angles under TM-polarized illumination (TE results are not shown here). The simulated z-component electric field (Ez) distribution at incident angle, $4^{\circ}$ and $16^{\circ}$ under TM polarization and at the corresponding SP resonance wavelength is shown in Fig. 1(c). The analysis and comparison of theoretical results with experiment indicates a good agreement of the splitting behavior of the surface plasmon resonance modes at oblique incidence both in TE and TM polarization.

건조방법을 달리한 보리 잎의 이화학적 특성 (Chemical Properties of Barley Leaf Using Different Drying Methods)

  • 다양한 방법으로 건조한 보리 잎의 일반성분을 분석한 결과 수분함량은 분석 방법에 따라 매우 큰 차이를 나타냈으며, 열처리 후 건조(HD), 음건(SD)한 보리 잎에서 동결건조(FD), 전자레인지 건조(MW)와 비교해볼 때 클로로필 함량이 높게 나타났다. 갈변작용은 열의 작용을 가장 받지 않은 동결건조(FD)한 보리 잎에서 가장 적었다. 무기질 함량은 Ca, Mg, Na, P, K가 높게 함유되어 있었고, 특히 K는 다른 원소들에 비해 매우 높은 함량을 나타냈으며($2580.88{\sim}3616.20$ mg%) 음건(SD)한 보리 잎 시료에서 가장 높아 무기질 성분이 매우 우수한 알칼리성 식품이라 사료된다. 또한 보리 잎의 유기산은 oxalic acid, acetic acid, citric acid, fumaric acid가 검출되었으며, 건조방법에 따라 각각 달랐다. 비타민 C 함량은 생엽(RL) 142.56 mg%, 열처리 후 건조(HD) 629.23 mg%, 음건(SD) 598.48 mg%, 동결건조(FD) 657.62 mg%, 전자레인지 건조(MW) 724.34 mg%으로 나타났고, 보리 잎은 무기질 외에도 비타민 C의 좋은 급원 식품임을 알 수 있었다. 본 실험의 결과 건조방법별 보리 잎의 성분에는 변화가 있었으며, 외관상 품질은 동결건조(FD)를 하였을 때 가장 좋았으나, 음건(SD)으로 시료를 처리하였을 때 각 성분의 파괴가 가장 덜 할 것으로 사료된다.

SPDT 단일고주파집적회로 스위치용 pHEMT 채널구조 설계 (Design of pHEMT channel structure for single-pole-double-throw MMIC switches)

  • 본 연구에서는 스위치, 위상변위기, 감쇄기등 전파제어회로를 설계 및 제작할 수 있는 pHEMT스위치 소자에 적합한 에피구조를 설계하였다. 고성능의 스위치 소자를 위한 pHEMT 채널층 구조는 이중 면도핑층을 가지며 사용 중 게이트 전극의 전계강도가 약한 깊은 쪽 채널층의 Si 면농도가 상층부보다 약 1/4정도 낮을 경우 격리도등 우수한 특성을 보였다. 설계된 에피구조와 ETRI의 $0.5\mu$m pHEMT MMIC 공정을 이용하여 2.4GHz 및 5GHz 대역 표준 무선랜 단말기에 활용 가능한 SPDT Tx/Rx MMIC 스위치를 설계 및 제작하였다. 제작된 SPDT형 스위치는 주파수 6.0 GHz, 동작전압 0/-3V에서 삽입손실 0.849 dB, 격리도 32.638 dB, 그리고 반사손실 11.006 dB의 특성을 보였으며, 전력전송능력인 $P\_{1dB}$는 약 25dBm, 그리고 선형성의 척도인 IIP3는 42 dBm 이상으로 평가되었다. 이와 같은 칩의 성능은 본 연구에서 개발된 SPDT 단일고주파집적회로 스위치가 2.4GHz뿐만 아니라 SGHB 대역 무선랜 단말기에 활용이 충분히 가능함을 말해준다.
