The construction of preservation metadata is a prerequisite for the preservation of digital information. In the current approaches to digital archiving, however, there is no metadata structure optimized to describe preserved digital objects. This research proposed metadata packages that can support the description of digital objects from the perspective of the core processes of digital archiving. The proposed metadata packages consist of 4 wrapper elements and 25 sub-elements. They can provide detailed descriptions required to preserve digital objects in accordance with the core processes of digital archiving. Therefore, the proposed metadata package can be applied to digital archiving as a better approach to the description of digital objects compared to the approaches to information package.

This study develops the System(MetaGene) to create meta-data for learning object based on SCORM including meta-data of Assets. SCO, Contents Aggregation and metadata of Contents Package. API function cocle is embeded in Learning Object for interfacing API adopter in LMS to support SCORM and for tracking on learning process based on data models. Also, the learning objects are packaged the PIF(Packaged Interchange File) to transmit with LMS. MetaGene is verified by $SCORM^{(TM)}$ Conformance TestSuite for meta-data of learning objects, manifest file of Contents Packaging.

The description of preserved resources is one of the requirements in digital preservation. The description is generally created in the format of metadata records, and those records are combined to generate information packages to support the process of digital preservation. However, current strategies or models of digital preservation may not generate information packages in efficient ways. To overcome these problems, this research proposed an internal structure of information packages in digital preservation. In order to construct the internal structure, this research analyzed existing metadata standards and cataloging rules such as Dublin Core, MARC, and FRBR to extract the core elements of resource description. The extracted elements were categorized according to their semantics and functions, which resulted in three categories of core elements. These categories and core elements were manifested by using RDF syntax in order to be substantially applied to combine metadata records in digital preservation. Although the internal structure is not intended to create metadata records, it is expected to provide an alternative approach to enable combining existing metadata records in the context of digital preservation in a more flexible way.

Recently, consumers' taste has been diversified, consumption pattern has changed, and product package design has been gradually developed. The product packaging design should be made to be able to know the contents accurately, and it should have the charm that attracts consumers' attention and makes them want to buy the goods. In addition, product design should motivate consumers to buy according to brand naming, package layout, content expression method, taste color, as well as graphic elements that induce visual effects. The graphic elements that express the image of the contents in a package design of the product at a glance are the most essential elements to enhance the value added of the product and to induce the purchase motivation and rationalization of the consumer. This study is a study on visual image symbol image using visual information metadata in livestock products. It examines cases of various livestock packages and presents graphical elements that can visualize livestock images at a glance as metadata elements. We will pursue the premiumization of livestock products, raise brand value, and offer differentiating design strategies for economic benefits as well as potential for revitalizing the livestock market.

This study aims to design folk song metadata based on the OAIS reference model for the folk songs' preservation and permanent use. Thus, the folk songs' general characteristics were investigated by researching literature and related technical standards. The type of records, the methods and standards for long-term storage of records, OAIS reference models, and each package's metadata elements were identified through opinions from the popular songs' creators and researchers. The results awere that first, folk songs were created for social transformation, serving as a cultural heritage different from popular songs given their noncommercial quality. Second, the types of folk song records were identified, and the long-term preservation system suitable for the types of records was based on the OAIS reference model. Third, the metadata were edited, and the OIS reference model was applied such that respect was given to the folk songs' characteristics, context, and original order. Fourth and last, information package metadata elements matching the folk songs' records were derived and applied to the representative Korean folk song, "The March for Being."

This paper reports the GEM (Gateway to Educational Materials) project whose goal is to develop an operational framework to provide the K-12 teachers in the world with 'one-stop/any-stop' access to thousands of lesson plans, curriculum units and other Internet-based educational resources. To the IS-element Dublin Core base package, the GEM project added an 8-element, domain-specific GEM package. The GEM project employed the conceptual data modeling approach to designing the GEM database, used the Sybase relational database management system (RDBMS) to construct the backend database for storing the metadata of educational resources, and also employed the active server page (ASP) technology to provide Web interfaces to that database. The consortium members catalog lesson plans and other Internet-based educational resources using a cataloging module program that produces HTML meta tags. A harvest program collects these meta tags across the Internet and outputs an ASCII file that conforms to the standard agreed by the consortium members. A parser program processes this file to enter meta tags automatically into appropriate relational tables in the Sybase database. The conceptual/logical schemas of Dublin Core and GEM profile are presented. The advantages of conceptual modeling approach to manage metadata are discussed. A prototype system that provides access to the GEM metadata is available at http://lis.skku.ac.kr/gem/.

또한 학습자 정보 트래킹을 위한 SCO(Sharable Content Object)함수를 부착하여 학습 객체가 SCORM RTE(Run-Time Environment)와 통신 할 수 있도록 PIF(Package Interchange File)로 자동 패키징 시킨다.

The importance of long-term preservation of various types of electronic records through dark archives is gradually increasing. However, the current dark archive does not have an optimized information package structure for long-term preservation of electronic records. In order to address these problems, this research proposed four element categories by re-organizing the OAIS reference model information package based on the core process of the dark archiving. The detailed descriptive items of each category consist of a total of 4 upper-level elements and 27 sub elements based on the OAIS reference model, ISO 23081, Records Management Metadata Standard, ISAD(G), ISAAR(CPF), ISDF, and ISDIAH. This structure can be used as a basis for constructing an information package optimized for dark archiving, and is expected to support the long-term preservation of electronic records more efficiently.
According to the development of web sites' technologies, public institutions use web sites to carry out their business and also to utilize as pathway between government and the people also. Public web records means the result of business process over web sites in public institutions. Although there is much valuable information, it is vanished away easily because there is not yet proper methods and tools for preservation. The purpose of this paper is to design the metadata elements required when archiving deep web records, which is a kind of web records. For that, we first analyze oversea's related researches to define what public deep web records is. Then we define metadata elements about that and also explain the relationship on archival information package in Korea and dublin core metadata to support interoperability for them. The defined metadata can be used for the basis technologies in archiving domestic public web records.
Data dictionary is a collection of metadata about data defined, produced and consumed while performing business processes. Data dictionary is an essential element for business process standardization and automation. Data dictionary also has a fundamental role in ERP application management and customization. Finally, data dictionary helps B2B by gracefully integrating intra-enterprise business processes and inter-enterprise business processes. This paper gives some clues about the importance of data dictionary in ERP and B2B, and introduces data dictionary support of SEA+, a component-based scalable ERP package system.
