The purpose of this study is to suggest a plan for which Medical Record Technician, who has main task as efficient creation and management of medical information, is changed successfully to health information manager in IT-based medical environment. According to this research objective, it carried out an analysis on future model(To-be) for being changed into health information manger in addition to analysis of the current situation for task as medical record technician. The subject materials of analyzing the present status included 1) state-exam subjects for medical record technician 2) qualification examination subjects for health information manger 3) analytical data of the current task for domestically medical record technicians 4) symposiums and educational topics for the recent 3 years in Korean Medical Record Association. Future-model(To-be) data included 'HIM Professional Roles in E-HIM (R)' suggested by AHIMA(American Health Information Management Association). Through a comparative analysis of these materials, a role of being needed currently medical record technicians' new entry was analyzed to be Business change manager, IT training specialist, Consumer advocate, Clinical alerts and reminders manager, and Enterprise application specialist.
The purpose of this study was to develop a curriculum for the oriental clinical nurse specialist program based on the understanding of Korean human beings so as to develop nursing as a profession and promote the client's health. The design of this study was based on literature review and nominal group study. The research was managed by East-West Nursing Research Institute of nursing science college at Kyung Hee University. The research team was composed of 17 professors of nursing departments of oriental medical colleges. We obtained opinions from Oriental Nurses Association, Oriental Nursing Research Association, and professors in oriental medical college. We reviewed articles, curriculums of other clinical nurse specialist programs, medical laws and the curriculum development plan for the oriental clinical nurse specialist program from Korean Nurses Association. We discussed a curriculum thoroughly in numerous meetings. We developed a following curriculum: 1. Educational philosophy was founded on the oriental human view which was based on Chun-In union theory. It was founded on the oriental health view which recognized health being in harmony with nature and the balance of body function with the harmony of Yin-Yang in the five elements. In addition, it was founded on oriental nursing view to promote these health states. 2. Educational goals were to train oriental clinical nurse specialists, oriental nursing educators and oriental nursing researchers who developed knowledge of oriental nursing theory, nursing practice and created a leadership. 3. Curriculum consisted of 48 credits, of which 36 credits are based on lectures and laboratory classes and 12 credits are based on clinical practice. 36 credits consisted of 5 general subject credits and 31 core subject credits. General subjects consisted of nursing theory, nursing research, law and ethics. Students who had earned master's degrees are not required to take the general subjects. Core subjects consisted of 11 subjects such as advanced physical examination and laboratory, oriental nursing theory, original text of oriental nursing, oriental medical nursing, oriental pediatric nursing, oriental gynecologic nursing, oriental gerontologic nursing, oriental pharmacology, oriental constitutional nursing, advanced nursing of channels and acupuncture points and laboratory and oriental rehabilitation nursing and laboratory. In addition, clinical practice in a hospital ward, out patient department, herb prepation room, department of physical therapy and health promotion center in oriental medical hospitals for 12 weeks. To admit this program, students should complete prerequisites of introduction to oriental nursing and nursing of channels and acupuncture points. 4. Course contents of each subjects were developed to include the course's goal and objectives and specific items. 5. Evaluation involved lecture, laboratory and in field practice. We applied various evaluation systems and methods that were based on both knowledge and skills of the students to ensure full credibility and validity.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to expand of workplace by analyzing the duty and workplace of health education specialist and by presenting professional duty for health education specialist. Methods: 22 papers related to health education experts were finally selected from 1993 to 2017(25 years). The selected literature analyzed the title, researchers, the publishing agency, the publication year, the main contents, and duty and workplace of the health education specialist. Results: The studies on health education specialists comprised 5 cases (22.7%) between 1993 and 1999, 3 cases (13.6%) between 2000 and 2009, 14 cases (63.6%) between 2010 and 2017. Health education specialists core duty were diagnosing health education needs, planning health education programs, developing health education methods and materials, performing and managing health education programs, evaluating and conducting research on health education programs, and health communication. The workplace were 11 for medical institutions (55.0%), 9 for healthcare organizations (45.0%) and 8 for schools (40.0%). Conclusions: In addition to the basic core duty, professional and differentiated duty capabilities such as managing the target, generating health information, encouraging involvement of the target, and mobile health care should be developed.
The identity crisis of preventive medicine appears to have been deepening. As a solution, it is insisted that preventive medicine should focus on clinical preventive medicine. However, in the field of heath policy and management, the better solution should be found in a serious search for visions and perspectives of its study on population and society. In this regard, the specialist who studies the field can be defined as a medical doctor majoring in public health. In this paper, I first forecasted major socioeconomic changes to occur in medical and public health arena and explored the role of those studying health policy and management. Secondly, I summarized their career paths and main activities in order to establish visions. Finally, I proposed curriculums on health policy and management for medical school undergraduates and for specialists majoring in preventive medicine, respectively.
The role of the neonatal nurse specialist has been well established over the past decade and now reform in 21st century. Neonatal nurse specialists responsibilities in caring for critically and long-term chronically ill infants and their families are very important. Neonatal nurse specialists have a two fold responsibility in caring for these infants. First, through acquiring advanced practice education in complex neonatal care and diagnostic skills, neonatal nurse specialists meet the physiologic needs of the infant. Second, neonatal nurse specialists provide a more holistic approach to their care through evaluating the family in treatment plans and involving the family in discharge planning for the infant. In some institutions, neonatal nurse specialists are directly involved in institutional and/or home follow-up care and case management also. It is the neonatal nurse specialists responsibility to function collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team in managing critically or chronically ill infants from admission to discharge. The role of the neonatal nurse specialist case manager can be described as one that focuses on individualized care of the infant, while providing continuity of care to both the infant and family. The neonatal nurse specialist's role will vary depending on the neonatal intensive care unit(NICU). Therefore, the multidisciplinary collaborative approach to long-term management of infants in the NICU is extremely important to provide successful transition to home or to long-term rehabilitative care facilities because care for the chronically ill infant is complex and multifaceted. I suggest the role of neonatal nurse specialist in 21st century are as follows. 1. Diagnostic/patient assessment 2. Management of patient health/illness 3. Administering/monitoring therapeutic interventions and regimens 4. Monitoring/ensuring quality of health care practices 5. Organization and work role 6. Helping role 7. Teaching/coaching role 8. Management of rapidly changing situations 9. Consulting role The advanced practice nursing model of care delivered by neonatal nurse specialist's in the NICU incorporates medical and nursing role functions and emphasizes holism, caring, and a health perspective for critically and chronically ill neonates and their families.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to present the desirable level of home health care services by identifying the roles and activities by task of home health nursing specialists as well as to raise the level of professionalism in home health care services. Method : This is a methodological study. The roles and activities by task were identified through a review of literature and a state-of-the-practice survey, and were structured into a questionnaire after being reviewed and modified through a consensus of experts. The field survey was conducted on 136 home health nursing specialists at medical institutions, public health centers. public medical institutions, non-governmental organizations, and religious institutions in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province. Incheon, Busan, Daegu, and Gwanggju from June 4 to August 4. 2004. Seven roles. 34 tasks and 130 activities were identified in association with home health nursing specialists. Result : The roles of home health nursing specialists were identified as professional nursing service provider, advisor, educator, administrator, case manager, researcher and leader. Under these roles. 34 tasks and 134 task-specific activities were identified. Conclusion : The the roles and activities of home health nursing specialist identified in this study can be used in various home health care settings. These the roles and activities should provide the evaluation criteria of home health care services for institutions with existing home health care programs. An evaluation tool should be developed in order to ensure the hish quality of home health care services.
This study was conducted to assess the referral patterns to specialist from general practitioners in health center and perceived needs of referred patients for specialist care in health center. The study subjects were 249 patients who visited to health centers and were referred to other medical facilities. The data were obtained from questionnaire survey which was conducted in Kyongju-City Health Center, Seongju-Gun Health Center and Koryong-Gun Health Center in Kyongsangbuk-Do, from June 10 to October 17, 1995. The total referral rate was 2.7%. The proportion of patients who wished to be referred to medical specialists was 85.9%, and the proportion of patients referred by general practitioners in health centers was 14.1%. Among the patients who wished to be referred to medical specialists, 45.9% visited directly to health centers, 34.6% visited health centers via local clinics and 19.5% visited health centers to get referral permission only. The reasons for getting referral permission in health centers were easy geographical accessibility(34.6%), easy to get referral permission in health centers(27.1%), and very difficult to get referral permission in local clinics(16.4%). Among the diseases of referred patients, diseases of the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue were most prevalent on a whole, but diseases of nervous system and sensory organs were comparatively high among the patients who wished to be referred to medical specialists and infectious and parasitic diseases were comparatively high among the patients referred by general practitioners in health centers. The most favorable medical facility was general hospital including university hospital in both groups of patients who wished to be referred to medical specialist and the patient referred by general practitioners in health centers. Regarding the needs for specialist care in health center, 75.2% of patients who wished to be referred to medical specialists and 74.3% of patients referred by general practitioners in health center wanted the specialist care. The most frequently requested specialty is internal medicine(47.1%), and then orthopedics and general surgery. Based on above results, this study revealed that the majority of patients referred from health center wished to be referred to medical specialists at their own will, so, referral system at health center level should be changed. And if specialist care in health center be provided, the medical care by internist could be provided first, and then that of orthopedics and general surgery could be provided. These kinds of medical cares could be covered by local clinicians as a part-time job on a voluntary basis.
Objectives : The study was accomplished to find out how korean medical doctor take oriental medical service for hypertension patients in clinical practice Methods : Survey questions were developed based on consensus of 2 clinician, 2 oriental internal medicine specialist and 1 acupuncture specialist. The list of the Korean oriental medical doctors is provided by the Association of the Korean Oriental Medicine. The questionnaire were distributed via E-mail to 9,465 members of Korean oriental medical doctors from 19th August 2008 to 11th September 2008. One thousand sixty three(11.24% of 9,465) members completed answer and the computerized data were analyzed by SAS statistical program Results : Fifty-one percent of Korean oriental medical doctors has experienced hypertension treatment. The most common medical diagnosis method was pattern diagnosis(64.2%). Saam and five element acupuncture were as frequent as 32.3% of acupuncture prescription principle. The most common acupuncture points were region of shoulder and back acupoints inclued $GB_{21}$, $GV_{14}$(25%). The most common herbs prescription principle were 'constitution prescription'(35.4%), 'pattern prescription'(12.6%). The most common opinion for the revitalization of oriental medical service were 'medical insurance system of herbal medicine'(28.8%) and 'research of oriental medical treatments in hypertensive patients'(26.8%). Conclusions : This survey provides unique insight into the perception, treatment method of the Korea medical doctor at oriental medical service for hypertension patient. This study provides a wealth of information and a fresh raft of questions which will inform future research and policy-making.
The Sasang constitution typology was analyzed through SCAT2 and a specialist to examine the correlation between the Sasang constitution and dietary pattern, and the difference in BMI and food preference according to Sasang constitution was determined. The Sasang constitution typology of the subjects was classified by SCAT2 and a specialist. Seventy-four subjects were screened by SCAT2 (SC), and 18 of them were judged by the specialist (SP). The results of SCAT2 and the specialist were consistent in 13 subjects (SS). BMI and food preference among these groups were compared. The concordance rate of SCAT2 and the specialist classification was 72.2%. The BMI in SC was significantly lower in the order of Taeeumin, Soyangin, and Soeumin, but no significant difference was observed between Taeeumin and Soyangin in SP and SS. To analyze the preference of food and the constitutional suitability, the 'Yin-Yang food preference index' was developed and compared with the data classified by constitutional food according to existing ideological medical theory. As a result, there were 33 food items that matched in the SP-SS, which was more than that in the SC-SP (4 items), SC-SS (6 items), and SC-SP-SS (4 items). Twenty-four of the 33 matched food items were consistent with the existing constitutional food data. In conclusion, SCAT2 is a very useful tool for Sasang constitutional research, but for more objective research, it is recommended that subjects who show consistent results by different methods be targeted.

The purpose of this study is to develop curriculum contents for assistive product specialists and to prepare professional standards for said curriculum. First, after identifying and targeting employees in the assistive product center, hospital and medical facilities staff, users of the assistive product, and instructors for the assistive product, the task importance and education required for each duty of the assistive product specialist were examined. Based on a demand analysis, the subjects(plan) for assistive product specialist was drawn and then the curriculum(plan) was developed. Regarding the developed subjects(plan) and curriculum(plan), a Delphi method was conducted with five professional panels to verify the validity. Finally, a curriculum(plan) for assistive product specialist was developed to include a total of 21 courses(17 compulsory courses, 4 elective courses) totaling 44 hours (36 hours for compulsory courses, 8 hours for elective courses). The construction of systematic content for of assistive product specialist curriculum for qualitative training of assistive product specialists is important. Through this study, it will now be possible to secure professionalism and qualitative improvements in curriculum for assistive product specialists.
