This study was designed to identify the performance of occupational health services of 37 industries located in Kyung in area. The data was collected by a structured questionnaire developed by the Academic society of Community Nursing. This analysis had two factors, one was related to six of the industries, and the other was the actual assignment procedures of the health team members. This study was undertaken from December 4, 1992 to January 21, 1993. The results of the study were as follows: 1. The study group was primarily manufacturing industries which employed 300-1,000 employees. 2. The actual assignment state of occupation health team members with the exception of nurses was not kept to the regulations of the industrial safety health law. 3. The following was the analysis of the performance of occupational health services with two factors: 1). The larger the size of the six industries, the more the performance of health education, health assessment, and health screening. 2) The actual. practice of occupational health team members working environmental measurement, was more frequently performed by a nurse other than health team members together. 4. 1) The subscription rate of the laborers for primary health screening was 94%, and of these 10% had the need of secondary health screening. As a results of the secondary health screening the degrees were 'A' 45%, 'C' 92%, 'R' 21%. Of these degrees 'C', 'R' 4% were follow up cases. 2) 43% of laborers needed special health screening and .of these the subscription rate was 99%. The main item of the special health screening was physical factors. After the special health screening 46% required .follow up, 30% required medical treatment, only reporting 18%, change work 8%, suspension from work place 2%.

Background: The purpose of this survey is to determine the job and task satisfaction of physiotherapists. These are important factors because they are directly connected to both morale and work efficiency. Methods: Data was collected from March 9th, 2013 to April 15th, 2013 using self-administered questionnaires. First, Cronbach Alpha coefficient was used to evaluate date reliability. Further data analysis used mean and standard deviation to determine frequency and satisfaction for each characteristic. To determine the significance of job and task satisfaction, T-test and an analysis of variance were performed. Also, regression analysis was used to find out a relation between job satisfaction of physiotherapist and task satisfaction of orthopaedic physical therapy. Result: This survey includes results from 197 physiotherapists who engage in orthopaedic physical therapy from major, medium and small cities. The general characteristics of survey respondents include: 112 males (56.9%), 85 females (43.1%); 123 in their twenties (62.4%), 56 in their thirties (28.4%), and 18 over forty (9.1%); 156 had less than five years work experience in orthopaedics, 25 had six to ten years, and 16 had more than eleven years work experience. In the physiotherapist's job satisfaction survey (out of 5), males averaged 3.71 and females averaged 3.43. Individuals with less than five years in the career averaged 3.5, 3.69 for between 6 to 10 years in career, 3.87 for over 11 years in career; this showed a significant difference. Results of the sub-factors of job satisfaction were 3.81 for self-esteem and 3.21 for prospect of occupation. Results of task satisfaction in orthopaedic therapy showed a significant difference between 4.03 for males and 3.66 for females. For sub-factors of task satisfaction scores were 3.81 for vision, 4.29 for task adoption, and 3.57 for task recognition. Conclusion: Physiotherapists will be satisfied when their motivation to work and morale are increased by concerns such as improving the education environment, expert physiotherapist adoption issue, and medical law revision.
Objective : Pain has long been regarded as a subjective symptom. Recently, however, some regard a type of intractable chronic pain as a disease. Furthermore, chronic persistent pain becomes a cause of permanent impairment (PI) In 6th edition, the American Medical Association (AMA) Guides has rated the pain as a PI. In Korea, pain has been already been rated as a PI. Here, we examined the present status and the prospect of disability evaluation for the pain in Korea. Methods : Pain can be rated as a PI by the Workmen's Compensation Insurance Act (WCIA) and Patriots and Veterans Welfare Corporation Act (PVWCA) in Korea. We examined the definition, diagnostic criteria and grades of the pain related disability (PRD) in these two acts. We also examined legal judgments, which were made in 2005 for patients with severe pain. We also compared the acts and the judgments to the criteria of the 6th AMA Guides. Results : The PRD can berated as one of the 4 grades according to the WCIA. The provisions of the law do not limit the pain only for the complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). The PRD can berated as one of the 3 grades by the PVWCA. If there were objective signs such as osteoporosis, joint contracture and muscle atrophy corresponding to the CRPS, the grade is rated as 6. When the pain always interferes with one's job except easy work, the grade is rated as high as 5. In Korea, judicial precedents dealt the pain a sa permanent disability in 2005. Conclusion : Although there were no objective criteria for evaluation of the PRD, pain has been already rated as a PI by the laws or judicial precedents, in Korea. Thus, we should regulate the Korean criteria of PRD like the AMA 6th edition. We also should develop the objective tools for evaluation of the PRD near in future.

Recent years have witnessed a dramatic increase in topology research of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) where both energy consumption and survivability need careful consideration. To balance energy consumption and ensure survivability against both random failures and deliberate attacks, we resort to complex network theory and propose an energy-aware preferential attachment (EPA) model to generate a robust topology for WSNs. In the proposed model, by taking the transmission range and energy consumption of the sensor nodes into account, we combine the characters of Erdős -Rényi (ER) model and Barabasi-Albert (BA) model in this new model and introduce tunable coefficients for balancing connectivity, energy consumption, and survivability. The correctness of our theoretic analysis is verified by simulation results. We find that the topology of WSNs built by EPA model is asymptotically power-law and can have different characters in connectivity, energy consumption, and survivability by using different coefficients. This model can significantly improve energy efficiency as well as enhance network survivability by changing coefficients according to the requirement of the real environment where WSNs deployed and therefore lead to a crucial improvement of network performance.
The head thrust maneuver is a simple bedside test of the higher frequency vestibulo-ocular reflex, which is based on Ewald's second law. It is performed by grasping the patient's head and applying a brief, small-amplitude, high-acceleration head turn, first to one side and then to the other. The patient fixates on the examiner's nose and the examiner watches for corrective rapid eye movements (saccades), which are a sign of decreased vestibular response. The "catch-up" saccades after a head thrust in one direction indicate a peripheral vestibular lesion on that side (in the labyrinth or the $8^{th}$ nerve including the root's entry zone in the brain stem). An individual pair of vertical semicircular canals can also be stimulated by turning the head to the right or left by $45^{\circ}$ and then by rotating the head in the pitch plane relative to the body. Recent studies have suggested that assessment of individual semicircular canal function by head thrust test may provide useful information for anatomical and functional details of a variety of peripheral vestibulopathies and for predicting the prognosis of vestibular neuritis. In central vestibulopathy, the head thrust test may also be valuable sign to determine dysfunction of the central pathways from individual semicircular canals and its role for the development of diverse central nystagmus.
This research analyzed. knowledge structure and its effect factor by analysis of co-author and keyword network in Korea's health policy and administration sector. The data was extracted from 339 articles listed in the Korean Journal of Health Policy and Administration, and was transformed into a co-author and keyword matrix. In this matrix the existence of a link was defined by impact factors which were calculated by the weight value of what the role was and the rate of how many authors contributed. We demonstrated that the research achievement was dependent on the author's status and network index. Analysis methods were neighborhood degree, correspondence analysis, multiple regression and the difference of weight distribution by research fields. Co-author networks were developed as closeness centrality as well as degree centrality by a few high productivity researchers. In particular, power law distribution was discovered in impact factor and research productivity. The effect of the author's role was significant in both the impact factor calculated by the participatory rate and the number of listed articles. Especially, this journal shared its major researchers who had a licensed physician with the Journal of Preventive Medicine and Public Health. Therefore, social scientists were likely to be small co-author network differently from natural scientists. It was so called 'two cultures' phenomenon. This study showed how can we verified academic research structure existed in the unit of journal like as citation networks. The co-author networks in the field of health policy and administration had more differentiated and clustered than preventive medicine and epidemiology fields.

Purpose: The Act on Hospice and Palliative Care and Decisions on Life-Sustaining Treatment for Patients at the End of Life came into force in February 2018 in Korea. This study reviews the practices of end-of-life care for patients who withdrew or withheld life-sustaining treatment at a tertiary care hospital, addresses the limitations of the law, and discusses necessary steps to promote patient-centered self-determination. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of patients who died after agreeing to withhold life-sustaining treatment in 2018 at our university hospital. The cause of death, the intensity of end-of-life care, and other characteristics were reviewed and statistically analyzed. Results: Of a total of 334 patients, 231 (69%) died from cancer. The decision to stop life-sustaining treatment was made by family members for 178 patients overall (53.3%) and for 101 (43.7%) cancer patients, regardless of the patient's wishes. When the patient decided to stop life-sustaining treatment, the time from the authorization to withhold life-sustaining treatment to death was longer than when the decision was made by family members (28.7±41.3 vs 10.5±23.2 days, P<0.001). Conclusion: In many cases, the decision to discontinue life-sustaining treatment was made by the family, not by the patient. In order to protect human dignity based on the patients' self-determination, it is necessary for patients to understand their disease based on careful explanations from physicians. Ongoing survey-based research will be necessary in the future.
Localized hypoxia, due to the diminished $O_2$supply, is reported to cause necrosis of the arterial cell and to significantly decrease resistances to physiologic distending pressures. In the present study, in order to understand the mechanism of localized hypoxia which might result in the rupture of the aneurysm. $O_2$ transport phenomena across intraluminal thrombus in axisymmetric aneurysms under steady laminar flow condition were numerically analyzed using the Fick's law and the analogy with the fluid-solid heat transfer. For computational models, varying the thickness of intraluminal thrombus, numerical results showed that for the axisymmetric aneurysm with intraluminal thrombus. $O_2$ concentration became minimal at the aneurysm wall. With increased thickness of the intraluminal thrombus in the aneurysm. regions of low $O_2$ concentration were widely distributed near the aneurysm wall, which resulted in the possibility of localized hypoxia. The present study verifis that intraluminal thrombus influences $O_2$ transport to the aneurysm wall. depending on its size and structure.
This study's aim was to investigate their opinions to improve the educational system for dental hygienists on the basis of their duties as dental hygienists. The qualitative study was conducted among 19 dental hygienists at Daejeon, Korea from July to August 2016. Two researchers followed each subject for working hours in a day and recorded all the tasks and time to take for each task. After one day, the researchers met each subject and conducted face-to-face interviews to investigate the opinions about the dental hygiene curriculum and national board examination. The main duties recognized by more than half of the subjects were oral disease prevention including scaling and dental treatment assistance. The subjects' minority opinion about the main duties included radiography, impression taking, dental implant surgery assistance, orthodontic treatment, patient counseling, dental management and staff management, and oral health education. The most important tasks perceived by the subjects were prosthetic and implant impressions, scaling and implant surgery assistance. The subjects' minority opinion about the most important duties included patient counseling and making temporary crowns. The most difficult tasks answered by the subjects were prosthetic and implant impressions and dental implant surgery assistance. The subjects' minority opinion about it included patient counseling, scaling, and making temporary crowns. They mentioned that their curriculum in college was different from the actual work and the national board examination was not reflective of their real duties. We found out Korean dental hygienists had a lot of roles as dental assistants, dental business managers, and so on. We suggest that the law, curriculum and national board examination for dental hygienists should be revised to be able to reflect the reality of the clinical field.

In the 21st century, the development of cosmetics is led to pursue the high functionality of cosmetics with excellent effectiveness and safety. As Cosmetic Act took effect in 2000, functional cosmetics is provided in the law. As a result, the research and development of functional cosmetics has continually increased, and the number of patent applications in functional cosmetics has also rapidly increased as a plan for preoccupying in the functional cosmetics age. Now, the cosmetic industry has a great interest in developing anti-wrinkle cosmetics among functional cosmetics, because women's desire for having young resilient skin has increased since Korea entered an aging society thanks to the advanced medical technology. The patent application trends of anti-wrinkle cosmetics at home since 2000 particularly show the rapid increase in the applications in natural plant extracts. It may be because Korean consumers preference of vegetable cosmetics has resulted in the development of raw materials based on the traditional medicine. As for the existing preparation such as Retinoid or Ascorbic acid, the patent application itself will be an essential technical element in the future because patent applications are filed in the field of a preparation of cosmetics for stabilizing ingredients, reducing skin irritability or promoting absorbance, and in the field of cosmetic formulation technology. As there are many studies on the causes of skin wrinkles, it is expected that new raw materials of cosmetics can be developed due to new mechanisms, and that the number of patent applications in new technologies will increase due to a change in the thought of cosmetics accompanied by the integration of cosmetics with biotechnology using Genetic Engineering, including the practical application of the medicine previously used far treating skin diseases to an anti-wrinkle agent and the mass production of active ingredients of cosmetics.
