Kinematic Modeling and Analysis of a Toggle Mechanism for Injection Molding Machines (사출성형기를 위한 토글 메카니즘의 기구학적 모델링 및 해석)

  • This paper deals with the issue of kinematic modeling and analysis of a toggle mechanism. Based on the mathematic model of a conventional five-point type toggle mechanism. New five-point type toggle mechanism has been analyzed by computer simulation method. A sensitivity ratio has been defined and analyzed to compare its performance with four-point type toggle mechanism. A cycloidal motion has been applied to the cross head as an input and the motion of the moving platen is considered as an output. The effect of link design parameter as well as the type of toggle has been investigated by computer simulation to be available for industrial applications of injection molding machines.

Design and Analysis of a New Shift Automation Mechanism for Automated Manual Transmission (AMT용 새로운 변속자동 메커니즘 설계 및 해석)

  • This article proposes a novel shift automation mechanism for an automated manual transmission (AMT). The development of an automated manual transmission is currently being paid considerable attention by vehicle manufacturers, with the prospects of combining the comfort of an automatic transmission and the high efficiency of a manual transmission. In order to automate the shift mechanism of a manual transmission, the proposed shift automation mechanism consists of two electric motors, cross shaped pinion gears, rack type shift rails, and a ball splined hollow shaft. First we describe the shift mechanism and operating principles of a manual transmission to investigate important design criteria for the shift automation device. And a new shift automation mechanism is described with its structure, elements, and operating principles in detail. Using a conventional manual transmission, we develop a full three-dimensional CAD model of an AMT which includes main components of the manual transmission and the designed shift automation mechanism. Finally we investigate the operating performances and feasibility of the designed AMT by a dynamic analysis.

Numerical analysis of NOx formation characteristics in CH$_{4}$-air jet diffusion flame (CH$_{4}$-공기 분류 확산화염의 NOx 생성특성에 관한 수치해석)

  • Numerical analysis was performed with multicomponent transport properties and detailed reaction mechanisms for axisymmetric 2-D CH$_{4}$ jet diffusion flame. Calculations were carried out twice with the $C_{2}$-Thermal Mechanism including $C_{2}$ and thermal NO reactions and the $C_{2}$-Full Mechanism including prompt NO reactions in addition to the above $C_{2}$-Thermal NO mechanism. The results show that the flame structures such as flame temperature, major and minor species concentration are indifferent to respective mechanisms. The production path of Thermal NO is dominant comparing with that of Prompt NO in total NO production of pure CH$_{4}$ jet diffusion flame. This is because thermal NO mechanism mainly contributes to positive formation of NO in the whole flame region, but Prompt NO mechanism contributes to negative formation in the fuel rich region. In addition, 0$_{2}$ penetration near the nozzle outlet affects the flame structures, especially N0$_{2}$ formation characteristics.

  • In this paper, we perform a mechanism anlysis and optyimal designof the feeding system in a industrial sewing machine. Sewing machines are classified by the transfer mechanism as (1) transferred by feed dog only (2) transferred by feed dog and needle (3) transferred by feed dog, needle and pressure bar. We took the dewing machine classified as (2) which is more efficient in transferring the clothes than the machine classified as (1). In analyzing the mechanism, we divide the feeding mechanism as feed dog mechanism and needle bar mechanism. The two mechanisms are connected with each other kinematically because the clothes are transferred by needle and feed dog simultaneously and stitched by needle which pass through the feed dog in every stitchcycle. We define good stitch as coincidence of stitch between the forward and reverse motion of feeding. And we optimize feeding mechanism for that purpose. It is illustrated that stitching performance of the optimized mechanism is compared to original feeding mechanism.

Balanced Strategy, Coordinating and Learning Mechanism, and Performance of Hospitals (의료기관의 균형적 경영전략, 조정 및 학습 기전의 경영성과에 대한 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the differences and relationships among balanced strategy, coordinating and learning mechanism, and perceived performance of hospitals in Korea, and provide some directions to establish effective strategic management of hospital. Measure items on balanced strategy, coordinating and learning mechanism, and perceived performance were developed from previous studies. Questionnaire was sent and received through Internet site and e-mail during May, 2008. Data were collected from key informant in each institutions, and analyzed using frequency analysis, T-test, ANOVA, correlation and regression analysis. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1. The level of strategic selection and external learning mechanism of private hospital was lower than that of medical corporation, and others corporation hospital. 2. There was little difference between hospitals in metropolitan and those in small cities. 3. Hospitals that have under 100 beds were statistically lower level in strategic selection and external learning mechanism than hospitals has over 100 beds. 4. Formal coordinating and external learning mechanism, and foundation form(medical corporation) were significantly influenced on profitability from specialized field. 5. Strategic selection and adaptation mechanism were significantly affected on total profitability. 6. Strategic selection and external learning mechanism were significantly influenced on competitive power around its local market. Hospitals that are to be competitive by specialization should have to establish mechanism for management such as balanced strategy, coordinating and learning mechanism.

  • The mechanism design is synthesis of suitable mechanism which can be output motions about input motions. That has generally two steps which are the type synthesis and the dimensional synthesis. And required mechanism analysis step for confirming middle or final result. The type synthesis is definition of mechanism type which required aim and the dimensional synthesis is calculation of dimension about defined type mechanism. The type synthesis of mechanism is included qualitative design field which isn't defined systematic design method. especially, the most difficult step for mechanism design automation. In this paper proposed the component modular design method which is figured mechanism types automate with component modules using component modular approach. And develop CAD(Computer Aided Program) program for application.

  • In this work, the quasi-static crawling of the four-bar mechanism is investigated. Since the crawling of the mechanism is based on sliding of contact points of the mechanism with the ground, interaction forces and friction forces at contact points of the mechanism with the ground should be computed. For this purpose, we introduce the concept of imaginary joints to find these forces and treat the closed mechanism as a serial one. Lastly, the required torques for the mechanism to crawl with respect to various configurations of the mechanism on a flat ground with uniform friction coefficient, based on sliding conditions of the mechanism in quasi-static equilibrium, are investigated.

  • Since the performance of the circuit breaker mainly depends on the spring operating mechanism, the analysis of the spring operating mechanism is required. The spring, especially closing spring, stores the deformation energy due to the compression and then accelerates the big loads rapidly in the circuit breaker. To accurately carry out the kinematic and dynamic analysis of the circuit breaker, the precise modeling of the spring behavior is necessary. In this paper, the static stiffness of the spring is captured by using the tester. When the spring is used in the circuit breaker, it is installed horizontally. Therefore, Sine excitation tests are carried out horizontal and vertical direction. Three types of spring models such as a linear spring model, modal spring model, and nodal spring model are suggested and compared with the experimental results.

  • In this paper, The infrastructure case for reproduction or analysis of the mechanism on the fire or the electrics shock of the electrical appliances is proposed. The various electrical appliances(Washing machine, Ballast, Electric heaters, Electronic switches, Mobile phone chargers) used in the home can be tested on the high voltage and over current test through the implementation of the infrastructure. The electrical tests of fire and electric shock consists of the high voltage of maximum 5000 V and over current test of 3 steps(90 A, 60 A, 40 A) and noise test. The mechanism of the fire and the electric shock tests reproduced are analyzed through the monitoring system and the oscilloscope. The electronics manufacturers can prevent accidents through the tests of the electronics factor reproduced and the analysis of the infrastructure designed.

  • In this paper, Recently, we describe the distinction mechanism analysis and injurious distinction mechanism performance analysis in order to determine harmfulness of the injurious multimedia which is being rapidly spread in the smart phone and Intelligent Robots. Based on the injurious mechanism distinction technologies, We defined individual injurious characteristics elements of multimedia(images and videos). Also, We analyze harmfulness of the injurious multimedia content by the visual characteristics modeling.
