환자의 실시간 모니터링을 위한 간편한 RQ 측정기기의 개발 (The Development of Convenient RQ Measuring Device for Patients Real Time Monitoring)

  • RQ(Respiratory Quotient) value is obtained from the ratio of the consumed oxygen and the produced carbon dioxide during the patient's respiration. To investigate the efficacy of insulin and diagnosis the metabolic disorder in short time, the RQ value can be used as important parameter. The measurement of oxygen and carbon dioxide amounts is needed large chamber and complex sensors. But If the atmospheric oxygen and carbon dioxide concentrations do not change, the expiratory oxygen and carbon dioxide can be used to obtain RQ value. A convenient RQ measuring device has been developed by using two sensors for O2 and CO2. The estimation of RQ devices confirms that the RQ device can obtain accurate data by eliminating uncertain factor such as delay time and remaining gases.

친환경 레이저 디캡슐레이션에 관한 연구 (Study of clean laser decapsulation process)

  • Decapsulation of EMC(Epoxy Molding Compound) in package device is a method used to inspect inside of device by removing plastic molding. So far, chemical etching and mechanical grinding methods have been used widely. Recently, several works using laser have been carried out. This method has advantages with fast process time and precision than conventional methods because of noncontact process. Also, laser process is a clean process because of removing EMC directly without using toxic chemicals. The wavelength of laser used in this study is 355nm. Key parameters of removing EMC are laser power, scan speed, and number of scans of laser. It if confirmed that laser decapsulation is a useful process to inspect inside a device with a small thermal damage to chip surface.

새로운 스트레인 인가장치를 이용한 광섬유 링 레이저의 파장가변 특성 (Wavelength tunability of a fiber ring laser using a novel strain device)

  • 광섬유 링 레이저의 출력파장 가변을 위해서 신뢰성있는 새로운 스트레인 인가장치를 제작하고 이 장치를 이용하여 파장가변 광섬유 링 레이저를 구현하였다. 제작된 광섬유 링 레이저의 출력파워는 -12 dBm이었으며, 선폭은 0.05 nm이었다. 새로운 스트레인 인가장치를 이용하여 광섬유에 8000 $\mu$ strain을 인가하였을 때 광섬유 링 레이저의 출력파장은 약 10 nm 가변되는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다.

Optical Proximity Corrections for Digital Micromirror Device-based Maskless Lithography

  • We propose optical proximity corrections (OPCs) for digital micromirror device (DMD)-based maskless lithography. A pattern writing scheme is analyzed and a theoretical model for obtaining the dose distribution profile and resulting structure is derived. By using simulation based on this model we were able to reduce the edge placement error (EPE) between the design width and the critical dimension (CD) of a fabricated photoresist, which enables improvement of the CD. Moreover, by experiments carried out with the parameter derived from the writing scheme, we minimized the corner-rounding effect by controlling light transmission to the corners of a feature by modulating a DMD.

  • Air-gap type film bulk acoustic wave resonator device using ZnO for piezoelectric layer and sacrifice layer, deposited by RF magnetron sputter with various conditions, fabricated in this study. Also, membrane$(SiO_2)$ and top and bottom electrode(both Al) of piezoelectric layer deposited by RF magnetron sputter. Using micro electro mechanical systems(MEMS) technique, sacrifice layer removed and then air-gap formed. The results of each process checked by XRD, AFM, SEM to obtain good quality device.

이차원 반도체 소재를 이용한 투명 태양전지 특성에 관한 연구 (Transparent Photovoltaic Device using Two-dimensional Transition-metal Dichalcogenides)

  • In this study, we fabricated the transparent photovoltaic device using 2-dimensional transition-metal dichalcogenides and investigated the transparency and photovoltaic characteristics. P-n heterojunction was formed by mechanical exfoliation and aligned transfer method on the transparent sheet using n-type $MoS_2$ and p-type $WSe_2$. Our transparent photovoltaic device exhibited the open-circuit voltage of ~ 0.15 V and the short-circuit current of 0.48 nA under illumination of white light.

  • In this paper, we designed the main mechanism of high throughput device for rod-cuts of spent fuel. For this, we analyzed the mechanical methods(slitting, ball mill, roller straightening) and chemical methods(muffle furnace, rotary kiln). As the results, methods of ball drop and rotary drum for concepts design were selected in the analysis step. For enhancement of oxidation rate, we devised the blades on the reactor with mesh type. Also, for enhancement of decladding rate, we designed ball size and rotation reactor with mesh type and devised the vacuum system for fission products. Mechanisms of oxidation and recovery can simultaneously handle the rod-cuts of spent fuel and independently recover. The results of mechanism design can be used for scale-up of high throughput device.

Evaluation of the cavitation effect on liquid fuel atomization by numerical simulation

  • Heavy duty diesel vehicles deteriorate urban air quality by discharging a large volume of air pollutants such as soot and nitrogen oxides. In this study, a newly introduced auxiliary device a fuel activation device (FAD) to improve the combustion efficiency of internal engines by utilizing the cavitation effect was closely investigated by the fluid flow mechanism via a numerical analysis method. As a result, the FAD contributed to fuel atomization from the injection nozzle at lower inlet pressure by reducing the pressure energy. The improved cavitation effect facilitated fuel atomization, and ultimately reduced pollutant emission due to the decrease in fuel consumption. The axial velocity along the flow channel was increased 8.7 times with the aid of FAD, which improved the primary break-up of bubbles. The FAD cavitation effect produced 1.09-times larger turbulent bubbles under the same pressure and fuel injection amount than without FAD.

  • This paper presents an optimized design technique that can satisfy the design input values. Numerical analysis was performed on the slope correction device based on the first design. The stress distribution was confirmed when the load specified as the design input value was applied, and design changes were introduced for parts for which the design safety factor did not meet the standard to ensure rigidity. And the results were verified through FEA.

  • A technology that allows users to feel the elasticity of fabric through force feedback in the fashion and textile fields is very helpful to related manufacturing and sales areas. Currently bundle of fabrics, so called Swatch, is the only available way for the designer, manufacturer and the end-user to feel the fabrics. Images and video clips provide only visual characteristics, hence touch and stiffness are also very important characteristics to check beforehand. A study is conducted on a haptic device, which estimates the amount of change in the length of the virtual fabric and generates resistive force so that the user could feel the fabric stiffness. Since cables that can only transmit the tensile force are used, a force realization method is proposed, and it is verified numerically and experimentally.
