  • Korean secondary school students (n=263) responded to surveys measuring their family contexts and school adjustment during the time period August-September 2004. Structure Equation Modeling tests were conducted to identify the nested model on school adjustment, a latent variable constructed with peer relations, teacher-adolescent relations, and academic attitude. In the nested model, parental involvement was a powerful predictor for school adjustment. Family conflict had a negative impact on school adjustment and was statistically significantly when correlated with the other predictors in the model. These finding suggested that family contexts play an important role in Korean adolescents' school adjustment. Hence, adolescents' perceived GPA level and satisfaction for school were important predictors for school adjustment.

  • The objective of this study is to analyze the effects 6th grade mathematics lessons applying story making have on the mathematics achievement and attitude toward mathematics. For this study, using two examination devices for measuring mathematical attitudes and mathematics learning achievement, a pre-test and post-test were conducted. In the pre-test, it was found that the two groups are identical groups. The post-test was used for verifying the research problems and the results of post-test were analyzed using t-test. The findings of this study are below. First, lessons applying story making influenced the mathematics achievement of children. This implies that lessons applying story making are more effective for improving a mathematics achievement than a general teaching and learning method. Also, when carrying out the t-test of pre-test and post-test results of learning achievement in experimental groups, there was a significant change as well. It is therefore supposed that lessons applying story making have positive effect on the mathematics achievement of children. • The purpose of this study is to review existing research trends to find highly reliable tools for measuring inconsistencies in parenting attitudes for adolescent children. We reveal factors that heavily affect reliability and feasibility of these tools and compose stable measurement items. We found a total of 37 items with high reliability and feasibility comprising six questions on affection, three questions on childcare, nine questions on interest, seven questions on demands, five questions on neglect, and seven questions on abuse. We surveyed first to third-year high school students in public and private schools nationwide and carried out statistical analysis for the 1,020 respondents. Upon analysis, questions were removed if they showed low factor loading (less than 0.6) for the father and mother in each of the 37 measurement items. Only questions that could be used for both the father and mother were extracted to carry out exploratory factor analysis. Eight questions were were deleted: five on interest, one on demands, one on neglect, and one on abuse. The final 29 questions were selected for the measurement tool. Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was used to analyze reliability, which showed high reliability values ranging from .857 to .931 for the father and mother. Therefore, these inspection tools for inconsistent parenting attitude were both reliable and feasible.

  • We studied aspects of secondary school science teachers in the Chonbuk province concerning their science-related attitudes using the several measuring tools. We applied the multiple comparison to twelve factors at the science teachers 'backgrounds and analyzed the discrepancy in group levels. Science teachers feel half-hearted for the attitudes related to science teachers show a high correlation between the attitudes toward science and the scientific attitudes. We examined the tendency to the science-related attitudes of science teachers having various backgrounds within 5 percent differences of P-value. The contented teachers for their occupations marked higher than the other teachers in the tendency to the science-related attitudes, and the attitude-score of the science teachers graduated from regular colleges also marked higher than the teachers from the training institutes or the different majors. We have investigated the teachers just in Chonbuk province, but we should recognize that the scores in both the perception and the teachers are not improved comparing with the before-studies of Lee(1985), Park(1993), etc. As a result, the development of measuring tools which teachers can examine themselves as their features is needed and the educational systems to specialize the science education should be improved through the various programs for teachers' training courses.

  • In this paper, we will design the speed measurement board of LEO Satellite's reaction wheel which has two speed measuring methods as M-Method type and T-Method type. therefore we can use the advantage of two methods. and we will verify the availability of design on the on-board computer at the real LEO Satellite(KOMPSAT-3). In the reaction wheels satellite that can change the satellite's attitude is one of the leading drivers by the rotational inertia of the motor will perform attitude control. Reaction methods for detecting wheel rotation speed generated during a certain period T internal reaction wheel tacho pulse counting M-Method to detect wheel speed and wheel tacho pulses are generated by measuring the time between the detection rate can be divided into T-Method. M-method is simple to implement and benefit measurement time is constant, but slow fall in the velocity measurement accuracy is a disadvantage. In contrast, the time between tacho pulses to measure the T-Method to measure the precise speed at low speed and to measure the time delay is small, has the advantage. However, this method also in the actual implementation and the complexity of the operation at different speeds depending on the speed of operation has the disadvantage.

  • Our society has been dominated by the Dilemma Theory that rational individuals cannot get out of the 'Tragedy of the Commons' without helps from state or market. However, many empirical researches have discovered cases that common pool resources could be managed by cooperative methods of community. Based on the possibility of managing common pool resources by residents' cooperation/solidarity revealed by the recent case researches, this study aims to seek for the theoretical basis to prove it. Generally, public policies are carried forward based on the theoretical basis of the relevant social issues. The objective of this study is to suggest the new direction of policies related to domestic common resources through the researches on community's role in managing local common pool resources represented as "scenic spot". For this, it aims to reveal the influence of community activity on behavioral intention of local common pool resources, by drawing/quantitatively measuring measurement items of local residents' community activity on top of attitude, norms, and behavioral control suggested by the existing Theory of Planned Behavior. The results of this study are as follows; 4 factors such as attitude toward behavior, subjective norm, perceived behavior control, and community activity were all factors that influenced intention to manage.

  • Concern for patient safety underlies the need for interprofessional education (IPE). One way to measure the effectiveness of IPE is by measuring attitude change toward other healthcare professionals; however, there are currently no valid Korean tools to measure such a change in attitudes. Therefore, this study aims to develop and test a Korean version of the Interprofessional Attitudes Scale (IPAS). The original IPAS was translated into Korean according to the World Health Organization's guidelines after obtaining permission from the article's corresponding author. A total of 414 questionnaires were collected from third- and fourth-year medical and nursing students at four Korean institutions in December 2018. To analyze the validity of the Korean IPAS, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted. Cronbach's α was used to evaluate reliability. Results from the exploratory factor analysis identified four functions: teamwork, community-centeredness, patient-centeredness, and respect for diversity. Significant cross-correlations were found among the four functions (r=0.438-0.631, p<0.001) along with overall reliability (Cronbach's α=0.929) and reliability of each subfactor (Cronbach's α=0.804-0.897). This study verified the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the IPAS, so this scale can be used in the future to measure the effectiveness of IPE in Korea.

  • The purpose of this paper is to suggest a scientific evaluation criteria for integration of person with disabilities by developing and measuring the index and indicator of disability integration. Disability integration index will be expressed in a simple number to represent the current situation which will summarize the level of integration of persons with disabilities from the perspective of outcome. Disability integration index is composed of four indicators-social attitude toward person disability, physical environment, participation in society expressed by employment and education, and social institution. Observation research was conducted to measure first two indicators of social attitude and physical environment while existing statistics and data were analyzed for other two of participation in society and social institution. The result of this study showed that disability integration index of Korea was 0.4832. Therefore this paper comes to conclude that the level of integration in Korea approaches to 48 percent which is half of ideal integration. However, this study has its limitations in selection of indicators and index formula which in turn must be followed by next studies.

  • This study aims to examine the effects of native advertising on consumer-brand relationship quality (BRQ) formation of the potential consumers in the context of an automotive brand. Specifically, the study verifies (1) whether the respondents cognize the content of native advertisement as an advertisement and (2) how the value dimensions of native advertising impact BRQ through brand attitude (BAT). To fulfill the purposes, the researchers categorized three types of advertisements (product, brand and non-commercial) and then showed three manipulated stimuli to potential consumers in the automotive market before measuring. The findings drawn from the 345 valid cases are as following. First, the rate of respondents' advertising recognition is low in the non-commercial advertisement, while it is high in ones of product and brand. Second, most of the respondents perceive less irritation toward the native ads, especially toward the non-commercial advertisement. Third, the entertainment and informativeness of native advertising positively influence BRQ, while the effect of irritation on BRQ is negative. Also, the effects of advertising value dimensions on BRQ are all mediated by BAT.
