In this study, the factors of reading readiness were investigated theoretically and the web-based measurement systems for reading readiness that were developed and operated by the experts or the commercial vendors were examined. On the basis of the results examined, the web-based comprehensive measurement system for reading readiness was proposed. It‘s expected that this study will give libraries with such systems a chance to evaluate their systems and will do much for libraries’ ability to plan their desired system.
This paper presents a new strategy to find starting points for placing optimally Phasor Measurement Units(PMUs). The performance of the starting point, initial placement set of PMUs, affect critically the computational burden and/or time, because the Optimal PMU Placement (OPP) problem is formulated the combinatorial optimization. By analyzing the properties of OPP solutions on IEEE sample systems in detail, a new strategy for initial PMU placement, in this paper, is proposed. To verify the performance of the suggested strategy, the comparison with the existing strategy and the new one, on IEEE sample systems. is performed. By using the new strategy, the numbers of search spaces to solve the OPP problem is drastically decreased.
In this paper, a measurement system of moving distance is developed. The error compensation method is also proposed using the characteristics of walking motion. As personal navigation systems and multimedia systems are emerging into the commericial market, men´s moving distance is considered as one of the important information. GPS offers the information easily but GPS can be used only when the satellites are visible. INS can calculate the moving distance anywhere but error is increased with time due to the sensor bias. In this paper, to detect the human walking distance a measurement system of moving distance only using low-cost accelerometer is developed. The sensor bias is estimated and compensated using the walking motion characteristics. The performanced of the proposed system is verified by experiment.
The aim of this study is to discover thermal characteristics of Ondol heating systems. The housing subjected was categorized into detached single family houses and apartments, reinforced concrete and brick structures, intermittent and continous heating system, and the space subjected was bedroom. In order to understand the thermal characteristics of each floor heating systems, the vertical distribution of indoor temperature and the distribution of surface temperature on the floor were measured. The vertical distribution of indoor temperature except the measurement point 1 largely showed average temperature distribution, and the temperature of the measurement point 1 in the housing surveyed showed the highest temperature in the house "sample A" because of the radiation heating from the floor of the Ondol room. As the result of the measurement, the thermal characteristics of each heating system were more stable distribution in apartments of R.C structure.structure.

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a method for extension of measurement range in a Brillouin optical correlation domain analysis sensor system without resolution deterioration. In the experiment, a 300 m measurement range with about 8 cm spatial resolution was successfully obtained by cascading three different kinds of fibers as a sensing element.

This paper presents an H$\infty$ controller design method for linear systems with time-varying delayed states, inputs, and measurement outputs. Using a Lyapounov unctional , the stability for delay systems is discussed independently of time delays . And a sufficient condition for the existence of H$\infty$ controllers of n-th order is given in terms of three matrix inequalities. Based on the positive-definite solutions of their matrix inequalities, we briefly explain how to construct H$\infty$ construct H$\infty$ controller, which stabilizes time-delay systems independently of delays and guarantees an H$\infty$ norm bound.
In this study, we propose a method to improve the precision of contact resistance measurement circuits using constant current method and voltage drop method, and implement a dashboard that monitors the measured data of contact resistance measurement systems through MQTT broker server. The contact resistance measurement system measures the resistance value and transmits the measured value to the MQTT broker server using wireless communications. This developed dashboard uses Node-RED and Node-RED-Dashboard to receive the resistance values of up to four contact resistance measurement systems and show them to user's monitor screen. Users can manage multiple measurement data using a single dashboard and easily interface with other devices through the MQTT broker server. Through the experimental results from real data measurements, the relative standard deviation about precision is improved to average 40.37% and maximum 64.73% respectively.

Space systems are operating in a changing and uncertain space environment and are desired to have autonomous capability for long periods of time without frequent telecommunications from the ground station At the same time. requirements for new set of projects/systems calling for ""autonomous"" operations for long unattended periods of time are emerging. Since, by the nature of space systems, it is desired that they perform their mission flawlessly and also it is of extreme importance to have fault-tolerant sensor/actuator sub-systems for the purpose of validating science measurement data for the mission success. Technology innovations attendant on autonomous data validation and health monitoring are articulated for a growing class of autonomous operations of space systems. The greatest need is on focus research effort to the development of a new class of fault-tolerant space systems such as attitude actuators and sensors as well as validation of measurement data from scientific instruments. The characterization for the next step in evolving the existing control processes to an autonomous posture is to embed intelligence into actively control. modify parameters and select sensor/actuator subsystems based on statistical parameters of the measurement errors in real-time. This research focuses on the identification/demonstration of critical technology innovations that will be applied to Autonomous Spacecraft Health Monitoring/Data Validation Control Systems (ASHMDVCS). Systems (ASHMDVCS).
In this paper, we suggest an algorithm for the automatic measurement of concentricity and roundness using image processing technique. From the experimental results, we could find that the required measurement accuracy specification is sufficiently satisfied using our proposed method.
There are communication methods that guarantees real-time and method of performing the simultaneous acquisition through the synchronized multi-channels to improve the reliability of the telemetry system. Such synchronized systems need to be verified to confirm the simultaneous measurement performance of channels. In this paper, we propose a method to measure the time difference between synchronized channels in a telemetry system through simultaneous acquisition performance test. The simulation signal is applied for measurement and the difference between the sampling period and the simulation signal period is defined as the concept of time resolution. The principle of checking the measurement time difference between channels through time resolution was explained. In addition, the proposed principle was verified through simulation in the situation when measurement time difference may occur. And a procedure for identifying a measurement time difference in an actual telemetry system is described.
