Objectives: Bacterial resistant infections have become a global health challenge and threaten the society's health. Thus, an urgent need exists to find ways to combat resistant pathogens. One promising approach to overcoming bacterial resistance is the use of herbal products. Green tea catechins, the major green tea polyphenols, show antimicrobial activity against resistant pathogens. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of catechins, green tea extract, and methylxanthines in combination with gentamicin against standard and clinical isolates of Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and the standard strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa). Methods: The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) values of different agents against bacterial strains were determined. The interactions of green tea extract, epigallate catechin, epigallocatechin gallate, two types of methylxanthine, caffeine, and theophylline with gentamicin were studied in vitro by using a checkerboard method and calculating the fraction inhibitory concentration index (FICI). Results: The MICs of gentamicin against bacterial strains were in the range of $0.312-320{\mu}g/mL$. The MIC values of both types of catechins were $62.5-250{\mu}g/mL$. Green tea extract showed insufficient antibacterial activity when used alone. Methylxanthines had no intrinsic inhibitory activity against any of the bacterial strains tested. When green tea extract and catechins were combined with gentamicin, the MIC values of gentamicin against the standard strains and a clinical isolate were reduced, and synergistic activities were observed (FICI < 1). A combination of caffeine with gentamicin did not alter the MIC values of gentamicin. Conclusion: The results of the present study revealed that green tea extract and catechins potentiated the antimicrobial action of gentamicin against some clinical isolates of S. aureus and standard P. aeruginosa strains. Therefore, combinations of gentamicin with these natural compounds might be a promising approach to combat microbial resistance.

A 2-year-old female Pomeranian dog was referred with multiple pelvic fractures. The surgical correction was performed for the fractures. However, after the surgery, purulent exudation was occurred in the surgical site. Antibiotic susceptibility test revealed that the isolated bacteria are resistant to penicillins, cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, quinolones, and trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole. Bacterial identification and extended-spectrum $\beta$-lactamase (ESBL) confirming test indicated that the isolated bacteriae is ESBL-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae. Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and maximum bactericidal concentration (MBC) tests revealed that meropenem, one of carbapenems, is the only effective antibiotic. The patient was treated with meropenem for 5 days. After 10 days, the exudation was disappeared and the infection was cured. The molecular typing of the ESBL revealed that TEM-1 ESBL is present in the bacteria isolated from the patient. The bacteria isolated from the owner's palm also revealed that TEM-1 and SHV-1 ESBLs are present.

In Korea, salt stress is one of the major problems limiting crop production and eco-environmental quality in greenhouse soil. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of organic residues (Chinese milk vetch, maize stalk, rice straw, and rye straw) for reducing salt activity in greenhouse soil. Organic residues was incorporated with salt-accumulated soil (EC, 3.0 dS $m^{-1}$) at the rate of 5% (wt $wt^{-1}$) and the changes of electrical conductivity (EC) was determined weekly for 8 weeks under incubation condition at $30^{\circ}C$. The EC, microbial biomass carbon (MBC), and water soluble ions in soil was strongly affected by C/N ratio of organic residues. After 8 weeks incubation, the concentration of water soluble $NO_3{^-},\;Ca^{2+}$, and $Mg^{2+}$ was significantly decreased in organic residues having high C/N ratio (maize stalk, rice straw, and rye straw) incorporated soil compared to organic residues having lower C/N ratio (Chinese milk vetch) incorporated soil. The EC value in Chinese milk vetch incorporated soil was higher than control treatment. In contrast, maize stalk, rice straw, and rye straw amended soil was highly decreased the EC value compared to control and Chinese milk vetch applied soil after 4 weeks incubation. Our results indicated that incorporation of organic residues having high C/N ratio (>30) could reduce salt activity resulting from reducing concentration of water soluble ions.

This Study is to analyze characteristics of costume change of according to the status of character succeeding the investigation of the ceremonial costume change in historical TV dramas that The Empress Myungsung entered. For this study, the costume images among historical TV dramas, that Myungsung entered, '500 years of Chosun Dynastyv, Taewongun(1990, MBC)', 'The Glorious Dawn(1993, KBS1)', 'The Empress Myungsung(2001, KBS2)'were used: The characteristics of the costume change of main character are as follows. First, main character's costume has been increase gradually in number and item. Second, Especially in the last work,'The Empress Myungsung', the royal costume based on historical evidence in aspects of silhouette, but it didn't according to the historical costume in aspects of color and textile. Nevertheless the costume reveals the status of each person significantly. Third, the costumes of the recent historical drama appears as a optical symbol that represents historical view point and different interpretation of each drama. Therefore the costume according to the status of the character wrong from the historical point of view. Consequently, TV costume in historical drama Myungsung entered has been focused on the beauty of the screen and dramatic effect than historical viewpoint. So the costume have been to be an essential visual part by means of the symbol revealed the purpose.

While the practice of investigative journalism among public service broadcasters has declined in the 2010s, Newstapa, a nonprofit online news organization, emerged as a trustworthy provider of investigative reportage. This study explores the reasons why the realistic conditions for investigative journalism -- such as competent journalists, adequate support systems, and productive cultures -- were first realized and later changed among public broadcasters and in Newstapa. Governmental pressure and the public broadcasting managements' anti-journalism policy had a chilling effect on the production staff of public broadcasters. Their enthusiasm was affected and led to a decline in the production culture of discussion and teamwork. The staff's strong will to practice journalism and the persistence of a production culture that respected autonomy and guaranteed independence enabled Newstapa to become an influential investigative journalism institution in a relatively short period of time. This proves that meaningful investigative journalism is possible when the combined elements of competent and determined journalism practitioners, as well as a system supportive of extensive news gathering and independence of production, are in place. An investigative program is the outcome of ideal broadcasters' journalistic conditions and a vibrant and thriving production culture.

The purpose of this study is to search the correlation between real-time viewing and OTT VOD usage. The study is based on the ratings and VOD download data, collected from TNmS and pooq. And this study focused on the ratings, 2049 ratings, OTT VOD download over the past 7 days, OTT VOD download over the past 30 days. The results showed that there were positive correlation in all genres(drama, entertainment, current affairs). First, there was a correlation between ratings and OTT VOD download over the past 7 days, between 2049 ratings and OTT VOD download over the past 7 days. Next, there was a correlation between ratings and OTT VOD download over the past 30 days, between 2049 ratings and OTT VOD download over the past 30 days. Finally, there was somewhat different among rankings of the ratings and VOD download.

Background: GLOBOCAN12 recently reported high cancer mortality in Malaysia suggesting its cancer health services are under-performing. Cancer survival is a key index of the overall effectiveness of health services in the management of patients. This report focuses on Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) care performance as measured by patient survival outcome for up to 5 years. Materials and Methods: All women with breast cancer treated at SJMC between 2008 and 2012 were enrolled for this observational cohort study. Mortality outcome was ascertained through record linkage with national death register, linkage with hospital registration system and finally through direct contact by phone or home visits. Results: A total of 675 patients treated between 2008 and 2012 were included in the present survival analysis, 65% with early breast cancer, 20% with locally advanced breast cancer (LABC) and 4% with metastatic breast cancer (MBC). The overall relative survival (RS) at 5 years was 88%. RS for stage I was 100% and for stage II, III and IV disease was 95%, 69% and 36% respectively. Conclusions: SJMC is among the first hospitals in Malaysia to embark on routine measurement of the performance of its cancer care services and its results are comparable to any leading centers in developed countries.

In this study, we analyzed the television news frames related to private school irregularities. Television broadcasting stations have not dealt with underlying problems of private school irregularities, but their reporting have been focused more on stating the situations. While Public announcing frame, Interference and solutions frame, Moral hazard frame and Protests and strikes frame have been applied in reporting, Autonomy highlighted frame and Publicity highlighted frame which are fundamental to the existence of private schools hardly appeared. In particular, the adhesion between private schools and political power has been continuously pointed out to be a cause of raising problems, whereas articles with such perspectives were hard to find. As a result, television broadcasting stations are required to change the way in reporting of private school irregularities in order for a lively discussion about them as the social agenda.

0.374(1/day) of specific growth rate and 0.435(mg/108 viable cells) of Anti-Microbial factor (AMF) productivity were obseaved for the batch cultivation of human promyelocytic cells in 10% serum containing medium. The crude protein was purified 10 folds by a serial purification steps of ion exchange chromatography, Bio-Rex 70 and gel filtration chromatography, Sephadex G-70 and 100. The ranges of MIC(Minimal Inhibitory Concentration) of commercially available antibiotics, penicillin G, streptomycin and ampicillin was estimated as 40 to ($70\mu\textrm{g}$/ml) on Gram (-) E. coli and Gram (＋) Streptococcus aureus. The values of the MBC (Minimal Bactericidal Concentration) of Purified AMF was ($0.5\mu\textrm{g}$/ml) and 0.4($\mu\textrm{g}$/ml), respectively. The molecular weight of the AMF was estimated as 15,000 dalton by SDS-PAGE.

In this paper, we propose the surveillance and combat robot framework for remote monitoring and robot control on the smart phone, which is implemented with the fusion technology called RITS(Robot technology & Information Technology System). In our implemented system, the camera phone mounted on the robot generates signals to control the robot and sends images to the smart phone of the operator. Therefore, we can monitor the surrounding area of the robot with the smart phone. Besides the control of the movement of the robot, we can fire the weapons armed on the robot by sending the fire command. From experimental results, we can conclude that it's possible to control the robot and monitor the surrounding area of the robot and fire the weapons in real time in the region where the 3G(Generation) mobile communication is possible. In addition, we controlled the robot using the 2G mobile communication or wired phone when the robot is in the visual range.
