온도를 고려한 고속철도 교량의 진동 실험 (Dynamic Field Test of High-Speed Railway Bridge Considering Temperature)

  • By the examination of data collected by long-term measuring system on high-speed railway bridges, it has been known that the atmospheric temperature may affect the responses of maximum deflection and acceleration of bridge deck. Collected data show a tendency by seasonal factor to that, by the decrease of temperature, the response of acceleration of bridge deck increases, and the response of deflection decreases. To trace the cause of this tendency, parametric analysis on the stiffness of bridge bearing and track ballast has been performed, and the in-site measurement has been achieved in high-speed railway line to understand seasonal influences.

  • In the preceding Part I study, for improving the unbalance response vibration of a large PRT motor-generator rotor fundamentally by design, a series of design analyses were carried out for bearing improvement by retrofitting from original plain partial journal bearings, applied for operation at a rated speed of 1,800 rpm, to final tilting pad journal bearings. To satisfy evenly key basic lubrication performances such as the minimum lift-off speed and maximum oil-film temperature, a design solution of 5-pad tilting pad journal bearings and maximizing the direct stiffness by about two times has been achieved. In this Part II study, a detailed rotordynamic analysis of the large PRT motor-generator rotor-bearing system will be performed, applying both the original plain partial journal bearings and the retrofitted tilting pad journal bearings, to confirm the effect of rotordynamic vibration improvement after retrofitting. The results show that the rotor unbalance response vibrations with the tilting pad journal bearings are greatly reduced by as much as about one ninth of those with the plain partial journal bearings. In addition, for the tilting pad journal bearings there exist no critical speed up to the rated speed and just one instance of a concerned critical speed around the rated speed, whereas for the plain partial journal bearings there exist one instance of a critical speed up to the rated speed and two instances of concerned critical speeds around the rated speed.

  • The activity of symbiotic -fixation and environmental factors of Robinia pseudo-acacia L., bearing root nodules, were quantitatively analyzed during the growing period. Among changes of total nitrogen and phosphorus contents of each organ, leaves showed prominent decreases from the highest quantity of the early growing period to the lowest of the late period. The rhizosphere showed acidic pH and low level of nitrogen, phosphorus and organic matter contents during the growing period. -fixation activity of nodules initiated from April and showed the maximum value of 190 $\mu$/g DW/hr in late June and than decreased to 50$\mu$M/g DW/hr during the rainy and dry season. Another peak of the activity attained 246$\mu$M/g DW/hr in the late growing stage of September. The maximum value of nitrogen fixation activity was observed at the conditions of pH7, $25\{\circ}C$ of temperature and 20 Kpa of oxygen partial pressure.

Structural stability of fire-resistant steel (FR490) H-section columns at elevated temperatures

  • A fundamental limitation of steel structures is the decrease in their load-bearing capacity at high temperatures in fire situations such that structural members may require some additional treatment for fire resistance. In this regard, this paper evaluates the structural stability of fire-resistant steel, introduced in the late 1999s, through tensile coupon tests and proposes some experimental equations for the yield stress, the elastic modulus, and specific heat. The surface temperature, deflection, and maximum stress of fire-resistant steel H-section columns were calculated using their own mechanical and thermal properties. According to a comparison of mechanical properties between fire-resistant steel and Eurocode 3, the former outperformed the latter, and based on a comparison of structural performance between fire-resistant steel and ordinary structural steel of equivalent mechanical properties at room temperature, the former had greater structural stability than the latter through $900^{\circ}C$.

Preparation and Characterization of Wholly Aromatic Polybenzoxazole Copolymers Bearing Ether and Bulky Units

  • A series of wholly aromatic polyhyroxyamide (PHA) copolymers were prepared by direct polycondensation reaction of isophthalic acid and diacids containing bulky units with 3,3'-dihydroxybenzidine. The inherent viscosities of the PHAs measured at 35℃ in DMAc solution were in the range of 0.31-0.56 dL/g. The solubility study revealed that the PHAs were readily soluble in aprotic solvents such as, dimethylacetamide (DMAc), dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) at room temperature and in less polar solvent such as pyridine. However, the polybenzoxazole (PBO) copoymers were quite insoluble in all organic solvents except partially soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid and partially soluble in NMP containing LiCl. The PBO copolymers showed maximum weight loss temperature in the range of 593-632℃ and high char yields in the range of 65.0-71.2% at 900℃ in a nitrogen atmosphere.

가속열 노화로 열화된 탄성받침 고무재료의 전단 특성(1): 천연고무 (Shear Characteristics of Elastomeric Bearing Rubber Deteriorated by Accelerated Heat Aging(1): Natural Rubber)

  • 유연한 고무재료를 사용하는 탄성받침은 최근 교량의 내진보강용으로 많이 적용되고 있다. 그러나 다양한 요인에 의하여 고무재료의 노화가 진행되고 이로 인해 탄성받침의 전단강성에 변화가 생기고 이는 교량의 내진성능에 영향을 미친다. 천연고무를 대상으로 노화촉진시간과 노출시간을 변수로 하여 노화촉진시험을 수행하여 전단특성의 변화를 분석하였다. 노화가 진행될수록(노화촉진온도 및 노출시간이 증가할수록) 최대전단응력과 전단변형율은 감소한다. 또한 동일한 전단변형률에서 전단강성이 크게 증가한다. 이는 고무재료가 경화됨을 의미하며 탄성받침의 내진성능이 저하되는 것을 암시한다.

융해-동결작용을 고려한 말뚝 기초에 관한 수치해석 연구 (Numerical Analysis of Pile Foundation Considering the Thawing and Freezing Effects)

  • 계절성 동토의 온도 변화에 따른 융해 및 동결작용에 의한 지반의 거동이 말뚝 기초의 변위 및 지지력에 끼치는 영향을 파악하기 위한 수치해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석은 온도 변화에 따른 지반-말뚝 상호작용을 모사하기 위해 유한요소법 기반의 TM 모델링(Thermo-Mechanical coupled Modeling)을 적용하였으며, 동결 지반은 온도 의존적 비선형 물성을 적용하였다. 지반의 구성 모델은 소성 거동을 모사하기 위한 MCR 모델(Mohr Coulomb with Rankine Tensile cut-off Model)과 HDP 모델(Nonlinear Hyperbolic Drucker-Prager Model)을 각각 적용하였으며, 말뚝의 길이 및 너비 조건을 선정해 수치해석 결과를 비교 및 분석하였다. 수치해석 결과는 HDP 구성 모델이 비교적 작은 지반 거동과 지지력을 보였으나, 전체적으로는 말뚝의 길이 및 너비 조건에 따라 지지력 및 말뚝 머리의 변위 결과의 양상과 그 크기는 유사하게 나타났다. 지반의 융해-동결작용으로 인한 말뚝 머리(pile head)의 수직 변위는 길이 조건이 짧을수록 변위의 변화 폭이 크게 나타났다. 수직 변위는 길이 조건에 따라 MCR 구성 모델에서는 최대 0.0387m의 융해 침하와 0.0277m의 동결 융기가 발생했으며, HDP 구성 모델에서는 최대 0.0367m의 융해 침하와 0.0264m의 동결 융기가 발생했다. 또한 두 탄소성 모델에 대한 말뚝의 지지력 결과는 말뚝의 길이 조건보다 너비 조건에서 더 큰 차이를 보였으며, 너비 조건 L에서 최대 약 14.7%, M에서 최대 약 5.4%, S에서 최대 약 5.3%가 발생하였다. 이에 말뚝 머리의 수직 변위와 말뚝의 지지력은 말뚝-지반의 접촉 면적에 영향을 크게 받으며, 지반 내 활성층의 활성도에 따라 차이를 보였다.

하이브리드 타입 초소형 가스터빈엔진 개발 및 초도 시운전 (Preliminary Study of Hybrid Micro Gas Turbine Engine)

  • In this study, a 2W micro-gas turbine engine was designed using micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technology, and experimental investigations of its potential under actual combustion conditions were performed. A micro-gas turbine (MGT) contains a turbo-charger, combustor, and generator. Compressor and turbine blades, and generator coil were manufactured using MEMS technology. The shaft was supported by a precision computer numerical control (CNC) machined static air bearing, and a permanent magnet was attached to the end of the shaft for generation. A heat transfer analysis found that the cooling effect of the air bearing and compressor was sufficient to cover the combustor's high temperature, which was verified in an actual experiment. The generator performance test showed that it can generate 2W at design rotational speed. Prototype micro-gas turbine generated maximum 1 mW electric power and lasted up to 15 minutes.

마이크로웨이브 가열에 의한 황비철석의 선택적 상변환과 티오시안산염 용액에 의한 Au 회수율 향상 (Selective Phase Transformation of Arsenopyrite by Microwave Heating and their Enhancement Au Recovery by Thiocyanate Solution)

  • 마이크로웨이브 가열에 의하여 선택적으로 상변환을 일으키는 Au를 함유하는 황화광물을 조사하기 위하여 현미경과 SEM-EDS 분석을 수행하였으며 그리고 이에 따른 최대 Au 용출인자를 결정하기 위하여 티오시안산염 용출실험을 수행하였다. 비-가시성 Au를 함유하는 황화광물을 마이크로웨이브에 노출시킨 결과, 노출시간이 증가할수록 온도와 무게감소가 증가하였다. 이 황화광물 중 마이크로웨이브 가열에 가장 빠르게 선택적으로 상변환 된 광물은 황비철석이었다. 황비철석이 적철석으로 상변환되었으며, 상변환은 동심원적과 가장자리구조로 형성되었다. 또한 상변환 된 부분에서 O와 C가 검출되었으며, 일정하게 Fe 함량은 높게 그리고 As 함량은 낮게 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 마이크로웨이브 가열에 의한 arcing과 산화작용이 일어났기 때문이다. 마이크로웨이브에 35분 노출시킨 시료를 티오시안산염 용출실험에 적용하여 Au가 최대로 용출되는 조건은 0.5 g의 티오시안산나트륨 농도, 2.0 M의 염산 농도, 0.3 M의 황산구리 농도 그리고 용출온도$60^{\circ}C$에서였다. 최대 Au 용출 조건을 마이크로웨이브 처리 시료에 적용했을 때 Au 용출률이 59%에서 96.96%로 나타났지만 마이크로웨이브에 처리하지 않은 시료에서는 겨우 24.53%에서 92%로 나타났다.

Mechanical analysis for prestressed concrete containment vessels under loss of coolant accident

  • LOCA (Loss Of Coolant Accident) is one of the most important utmost accidents for Prestressed Concrete Containment Vessel (PCCV) due to its coupled effect of high temperature and inner pressure. In this paper, heat conduction analysis is used to obtain the LOCA temperature distribution of PCCV. Then the elastic internal force of PCCV under LOCA temperature is analyzed by using both simplified theoretical method and FEM (finite element methods) method. Considering the coupled effect of LOCA temperature, a nonlinear elasto-plasitic analysis is conducted for PCCV under utmost internal pressure considering three failure criteria. Results show that the LOCA temperature distribution is strongly nonlinear along the shell thickness at the early time; the moment result of simplified analysis is well coincident with the one of numerical analysis at weak constraint area; while in the strong constrained area, the value of moments and membrane forces fluctuate dramatically; the simplified and numerical analysis both show that the maximum moment occurs at 6hrs after LOCA.; the strain of PCCV under LOCA temperature is larger than the one of no temperature under elasto-plastic analysis; the LOCA temperature of 6hrs has the greatest influence on the ultimate bearing capacity with 8.43% decrease for failure criteria 1 and 2.65% decrease for failure criteria 3.
