  • To investigate the relationship between the calcification stages of mandibular canines and the skeletal maturity stage of the hand-wrist in subjects with normal occlusion and Class III malocclusion, hand-wrist radiographs and panoramic radiographs were taken from subjects of normal occlusions(94 males, 88 females) and Class III malocclusions(75 males, 76 females) who had no systemic diseases and no history of orthodontic or prosthodontic treatment. Fishman's method for the skeletal maturity stages of the hand-wrist and Demirijian's method for the calcification stages of mandibular canines were used and analyzed. The results were as follows : 1. In subjects with normal occlusion and Class III malocclusion, skeletal maturity of the hand-wrist and calcification of mandibular canines at various ages occured earlier in females than in males(p<0.05). 2. Comparing the skeletal maturity stages of the hand-wrist and the calcification stages of mandibular canines between subjects with normal occlusion and Class III malocclusion, there were no significant differences between the groups. 3. The correlation coefficient between the calcification stages of mandibular canines and the skeletal maturity stages of the hand-wrist. in subjects with normal occlusion and Class III malocclusion showed a high association(p<0.01). 4. In stage 4 of the skeletal maturity of the hand-wrist, the frequency distribution of calcification G stage among the various calcification stages was highest both in normal occlusion and in subjects with Class III malocclusion. However, there was no significant difference in the frequency distribution of calcification stages between the groups.

  • Regardless of previous educational attempts in youth career education, there are not specific methods for reading to improve career maturity yet. This study aims to identify the reading method based on cognitive aspect which impacts career maturity and the mediation effect of self-efficacy in this process. This study tries to understand the roles of reading by applying the various reading methods suggested in the 2015 Revised National Curriculum. Data was collected through interviews and statistical analysis from a survey completed by middle school students. Findings showed that critical reading affected the decisiveness as well as the confidence of career maturity. Also, emotional reading and creative reading influenced the preparation of career maturity. Critical reading impacted all subvariables of self-efficacy - confidence, self-regulating efficacy, and task difficulty preference. Findings also showed that emotional reading affected self-regulating efficacy. Ultimately, the confidence of self-efficacy partly mediated critical reading and decisiveness. This study contributes to guiding reading instructions for practitioners and school curriculums to develop career maturity and self-efficacy.

  • The strength development of concrete is influenced by temperature and cement type which greatly affect hydration degree of cement. There is not pertinent concrete strength management methods for estimating the in-place strength of concrete. One such method is the maturity concept. The maturity concept is based on the fact that concrete gains strength with time as a result of the cement hydration and, thus the rate of hydration, as in any chemical reaction, depends primarily on the concrete temperature during hydration. Thus, the strength of concrete is function of its time-temperature history. This goals of the present study are to investigate a relationship between strength of high-fluidity concrete and maturity that is expressed as a function of an integral of the curing period and temperature, predict strength of concrete.

  • As the area covered by the CPS grows wider, agencies such as public institutions and critical infrastructure are collectively measuring and evaluating information security capabilities. Currently, these methods of measuring information security are a concrete method of recommendation in related standards. However, the security controls used in these methods are lacking in connectivity, causing silo effect. In order to solve this problem, there has been an attempt to study the information security management system in terms of maturity. However, to the best of our knowledge, no research has considered the specific definitions of each level that measures organizational security maturity or specific methods and criteria for constructing such levels. This study developed an information security maturity model that can measure and manage the information security capability of critical infrastructure based on information provided by an expert critical infrastructure information protection group. The proposed model is simulated using the thermal power sector in critical infrastructure of the Republic of Korea to confirm the possibility of its application to the field and derive core security processes and goals that constitute infrastructure security maturity. The findings will be useful for future research or practical application of infrastructure ISMSs.
