Construction Based Model for Assessing Maturity Level of Enterprises

  • Maturity models allow organizations to assess and compare their own practices against best practices or those employed by competitors, with the intention to map out a structured path to improvement. This research explores the aspects of the Maturity Models that are relevant to distinguish them from one to another. The different Project Management maturity models for define maturity differently and measure different things to determine maturity. Because of this, organizations should give careful consideration to select appropriate maturity model. The main reason behind this research lies on the modification to the existing Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3) by adding four knowledge areas, dedicated to construction industry as best practices. These are Safety, Environment, Financial and Claim Management. This Model contains (Yes/No) questions; all of these questions must be answered before the user reviews the results that describe the overall maturity and areas of strength and weakness of an organization. The research presents the implementation of the proposed Model Construction Enterprises Maturity Model (CEM2). All the components of the developed Model have been implemented in Microsoft Access. CEM2 helps Construction Enterprises to assess their Maturity Level and know Areas of Weaknesses for future improvement. The easy to use Yes/No user interfaces help enterprises' employees to assess the maturity level of their enterprises. The Model maintains users' responses in its database; as such, many employees from different enterprise divisions can be involved during assessment phase in several sessions.

IT 성숙도 모델을 이용한 SLA 평가 지표 선정과 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on Selection and Improvement of SLA Evaluation Metrics Using IT Maturity Model)

  • There are no objective standards for selection and improvement of SLA evaluation metrics for IT service. In this study, we analyze the current IT maturity models for selection and improvement of the metrics and then we derive them according to the maturity levels and propose the redesigned maturity model. To verify whether the model is applicable, we execute a case study based on the D company. We apply the proposed evaluation metrics of the maturity models to the D company and evaluate the metrics. We select a proper level of the D company and an improvement line after measuring evaluation metrics in the maturity level 2. We propose improvement guidelines of evaluation metrics which score is less than the improvement line's and derive SLA evaluation metrics. By using the SLA evaluation metrics for a year, we prove that the way of selection and improvement is useful.

  • 정부는 공공데이터의 품질관리 수준을 평가하기 위해 국제표준을 기반으로 공공데이터 품질관리 조직 성숙도 모델을 개발하였다. 그러나 현장에 적용하기에는 평가항목이 너무 많다는 지적에 따라 평가지표 수를 축소한 새로운 모델을 보완 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 프로세스를 통합 및 조정하여 프로세스 수를 축소하였으며 프로세스능력수준이 아닌 새로운 활동능력수준 기반의 평가 방식을 제안하였다. 또한, 공공데이터 품질관리 성숙수준을 다섯 개의 레벨로 표현하는 방식과 1~5 사이의 실수로 표현하는 방식을 제안하였다. 그리고 새로 제안한 모델의 특성을 기존의 조직 성숙도 모델과 비교 분석하였다.

  • 스마트팩토리는 가장 빠르게 발전하고 변화하는 4차 산업혁명 분야 중 하나이다. 스마트팩토리에서 도입정도와 성숙도 수준 평가는 중요한 부분에 해당한다. 본 논문에서는 국내 스마트팩토리를 도입한 중소기업들을 대상으로 설문 조사를 진행한 데이터를 바탕으로 스마트팩토리 도입 현황과 새로운 성숙도 평가 모델 기반 군집분석을 진행하였다. 설문에 응한 스마트팩토리 도입 기업의 약 68% 기업들이 기초수준에 해당하였고, 21% 정도만이 중간1 수준이었다. 대다수 중소기업들이 중간1로 진입하지 못한 가장 큰 이유로 자금부족을 꼽았다. 군집분석 결과, 군집별 패턴은 유사하지만 정도의 차이에 따라 '상, 중, 하' 3개로 군집됨을 확인할 수 있었고, 6 도메인 중 프로세스가 상대적으로 성숙도가 가장 높았고, 데이터가 가장 낮은 수준을 보였다. 이를 통해 6개 도메인 기반 새로운 스마트팩토리 성숙도 평가 모델을 활용하여, 보다 구체적이고 정량적인 성숙도 수준 측정 및 분석이 가능함을 보였다.

  • Today, many organizations are reengineering themselves to develop new ways to thrive in a foreign and unforgiving business environment. However, it is reported that many companies involved in the project of business process reengineering are dissatisfied with their results. Therefore, we developed an exploratory framework based on three constructs such as critical success factors, organizational maturity level, and performance and applied these to help analyze current practice in business process reengineering. To proceed with our research, this paper was organized around two research questions in business process reengineering. We addressed: (1) To what extent does certain critical success factors correlate with performance? and (2) How does the relationships between critical success factors and performance differ by organizational maturity level? From the research results, we could find relationships between critical success factors(i.e., project management, change management, objective management) and performance, and could verify differences in performance of organizations grouped by organizational maturity level.

  • The rapid development of IT and the large-scale investment of IT motivate the public agencies to find the ways of effective IT management. Even though the public agencies adopt Enterprise Architecture (EA) as the new alternative for effective IT management, EA practices are still insufficient in the area of utilization and management after the adoption. Therefore, this research aims to identify the influencing factors for improving EA maturity level in terms of the long-term business activities such as establishment, management and utilization. Also, this research empirically identifies the influencing factors on the adoption and operation of EA in the public agencies, and clarifies how such factors impact on EA maturity level.

  • Software Process Improvement(SPI) has been a challenging issue to software organizations. The factors affecting SPI were analysed for improving software development processes. Numerous studies suggested influencing factors, and assessment models were utilized for software improvement. This research suggested that SPI factors affecting on an organizational performance may vary according to the CMM(Capability Maturity Model) level. The moderating effects of organizational maturity level between the SPI factors and the organizational performance were empirically tested. This research found that all six SPI factors except for the resistance to change affected the organizational performance. The moderating effects of management support, goal alliances, participation, and effect analyses were empirically supported. These results can provide several implications or a practical guidance to academic and industry professionals.

기업의 핵심역량이 IT 아웃소싱 성과에 직접적인 관련이 있을 것인가? (Does the Understanding of Core Competencies Matter to IT Outsourcing Performance?)

  • IT outsourcing providers has been expanded from a single functional system to the entire IT service to gain sustainable competitiveness. This new trend of IT outsourcing need outsourcing management capability based on a firm's core capacity. Hiring external IT service providers to manage part or all of its information-related services helps a firm focus on its core business and provides better services to its clients, thus obtaining sustainable competitive advantage. This research investigates the major factors that determine the level of a particular firm's success at IT outsourcing. Based on process innovation and core-competency theories, we identify three significant components of a firm's IT outsourcing management method (ITOMM): level of core-competency-based management, maturity of outsourced tasks, and maturity of outsourcing management. Comprehensive data collection was conducted through an outsourcing association. The survey data were analyzed using a structural analysis method. Maturity of outsourced tasks and maturity of outsourcing management were found to affect project performance directly, while level of core-competency-based management only indirectly impacted project performance through its positive impact on the other two ITOMM components.

국내 기업의 기술경영 역량수준의 성숙도 평가 모형 개발 (The Development of a Maturity Evaluation Model on the Technology Management Competence (MEMTMC))

  • This research aims to develope a maturity evaluation model on the technology management competence (MEMTMC) and to investigate the relationship between technology management competencies and maturity evaluation level in Korean firms. After research framework building through literature review and field study focusing on interview process, a maturity evaluation model was suggested, including technology management competency factors such as vision and strategy, leadership, resources, projects, performance management, and systematic procedures. Through the empirical study on the 111 Korean firms, the MEMTMC model was tested and some hypotheses were examined. As a result of the research, we found that the MEMTMC is significant statistically to evaluate the technology management competencies of firms from a practical point of view. Additionally, these findings suggest that firms can build up their technology management competencies, including the vision and strategy, leadership, resources, projects, performance management, and systematic procedures in order to raise their maturity level of technology management competencies. But this research has some limitations such as this MEMTMC has not considered separately the variety of industry, not enough survey respondents and 5 level group firms etc.

SSE-CMM 기반 기술적 보안 성숙도 수준 측정 모델 연구 (A Study on Models for Technical Security Maturity Level Based on SSE-CMM)

  • 정보보호수준 검증방법은 프로세스를 중심으로 정보보호 제품, 시스템, 서비스를 개발하려는 조직의 개발능력을 평가하는 SSE-CMM(System Security Engineering-Capability Maturity Model)모델이 있다. CMM은 소프트웨어 개발업자의 개발능력을 평가하고 개선시키며 조직 전체의 성숙도 수준을 측정하는 모델이다. 그러나 이 방법은 보안엔지니어링 프로세스의 개선과 능력을 평가하는데 조직차원이 아닌 개별 프로세스의 능력수준 평가에 그치고 있다. 본 연구과제에서는 이들 기존연구를 근간으로 기술적 관점에서 정보보호수준 성숙단계를 정의하고자 한다. 연구방법은 정보보호취약점 진단, 기술보안체계 검증, 기술보안 이행실태 진단으로 구성한다. 제안하는 방법론은 업무현장에서의 범위와 수준에서 정보시스템의 현재 상태, 취약점 실태, 정보보호 기능 이행과 기능만족도 수준을 평가한다. 제안된 방법에 의한 평가결과는 정보보호 개선대책 권고모델 수립 근거로 활용하여 정보보호 개선의 활용을 목표로 하고 있다.
