텐세그러티 단위 구조의 형상 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Shape-Determination for Tensegrity Unit-Structures)

  • The basic systems of spatial structures such as shells, membranes, cable-nets and tensegrity structures have been developed to create the large spaces without column. But there are some difficulties concerning structural stability, surface formation and construction method. Tensegrity systems are flexible structures which are reticulated spatial structures composed of compressive members and cables. The rigidification of tensegrity systems is related to selfstress states which can be achieved only when geometrical and mechanical requirements are simultaneously satisfied. In this paper, the force density method allowing form-finding for tensegrity systems is presented. And various modules of unit-structures are investigated and discussed using the force density method. Also, a model of double-layered single curvature arch with quadruplex using supplementary cable is presented.

  • A general vibration phenomenon of a rigid-body supported by springs can be viewed as a small repetitive screw displacement. From this view, a multi-directional vibration absorber can be designed by use of screw theory and transfer matrix method. In this paper, the basic equations of motion for a multi-body system have been expressed in terms of screws using transfer matrix method and a simple approach to the design of a multi-degrees-of-freedom absorber has been presented. In order to illustrate the methodology, an example for the design of a 2-DOF active absorber which is capable of absorbing vibration of a rigid body excited by 3-DOF external force has been presented.

  • Recently, need of the parallel manipulator requiring superior precision is increasing for medical application and precision manufacturing. In this study, we convert a given complex translation trajectory of the moving platform into a set of segments and hence a complex motion of the moving platform can be tractable and easily controled in a very limited workspace. In addition force exerted. to each link is minimized so that the minimized force can be transmitted to the end effector of the moving platform. An user friendly program is developed to design Gough-type 6DOF parallel manupulator based on the proposed method.

종동력을 받는 원통셸의 동적 안정성에 관한 연구 (Dynamic Stability of Cylindrical Shells Subjected to Follower Forces)

  • The dynamic instability of cylindrical shell with clamped-free boundary condition subjected to constant follower force or $P_0 + P_1cos {\Omega}_t$ type pulsating follower force is analyzed. The motion of shell is modeled using the shell theory considering rotary inertia and shear deformation, and analyzed with finite element method. In case of constant follower force, the changes of eigenvalues dependent on the magnitude of applied load are investigated and the critical loads are obtained. In case pulsating follower force, instability regions of exicitation frequency are obtained by modal transform with right and left modal matrix and by multiple scales method. The effects of thickness ratio and aspect ratio on the instability of shell are studied.

외국인 고용허가제 도입에 따른 효율적 노동인력 수급에 관한 연구 (A Study on Efficient Work Force Supply-Demand According to the Employment Permit System for Foreigners)

  • The employment permit system for foreigners, which stresses introduction of foreign work force in a legal manner rather than in the position of being trainees, is anticipated to efficiently improve introduction and the overall management system of foreign work force and related difficulties such as illegal alien problems, absurdity on sending laborers overseas. In this paper, a prospective model of supply and demand of work force has been developed basing on various categories of industries and patterns about nationally practical foreign employees to look over efficient supply and demand of work force suiting employment of foreigner among foreign work force policies. To propose the prospective model, we have derived industry- and pattern-related matrixes of foreign laborers basing on Inter-Industry Analysis Method put forth by Professor Leontiyef in 1930, and through the derived matrix assessed repercussions concerning overall domestic industries and foreigner types and decided yearly weight; the capacity of supply and demand of foreign laborers can be compared through proposed statistical estimation and government estimation by combining the determined weight with yearly incomes of foreign laborers. This paper has thoroughly considered the particularity of our employment permit system for foreigners and applied the Weibull distribution and incorporated the dependence of foreign laborers during the limited period of 3 years to the industry relation analysis, ultimately proposing an efficient supply and demand method about domestic foreign work force.

벨로즈의 종방향 강성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Axial stiffness of Bellows)

  • Usually bellows are designed for the purpose of absorbing axial movement. To find out axial stiffness of bellows the axisymmetric shell theory using the finite element method is adopted in this paper. Bellows can be idealised by series of conical frustum-shaped elements because it is axisymmetric shell structure. The force required to deflect bellows axilly is a function of the dimensions of the bellows and the materials from which they are made. The displancements of nodal points due to small increment of force are calculated by the finite element method and the calculated nodal displacements are added to r-z cylinderical coordinates of nodal points. The new stiffness matrix of the system using the new coordinates of nodal points is adopted to calculate the another increments of nodal dis-placements that is the step by method is used in this paper. spring constant is analyzed according to the changing geometric factors of u-shaped bellows. The FEM results were agreed with experiment. Using developed FORTRAN PROGRAM spring constant can be predicted by input of a few factors.

내압을 받는 벨로즈의 변형 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Deformation Behaviour of Bellows Subjected to Internal Pressure)

  • U-shaped bellows are usually used to piping system pressure sensor and controller for refriger-ator. Bellows subjected to internal pressure are designed for the purpose of absorbing deformation. Internal pressure on the convolution sidewall and end collar will be applied to an axial load tend-ing to push the collar away from the convolutions. To find out deformation behavior of bellow sub-jected to internal pressure the axisymmetric shell theory using the finite element method is adopted in this paper. Effects of the Interaction between Intercalant and Matrix Polymer in Preparation of Clay-dispersed Nanocomposite

  • Clay-dispersed nanocomposites have been prepared by simple melt-mixing of two components, styrenic polymers with different content of functional groups and two different organophilic clays (Cloisite(R) 25A and Cloisite(R)30A) with a twin screw extruder. Dispersibility of 10-$\AA$-thick silicate layers of clay in the hybrid was investigated by using an X-ray diffraction method and a transmission electron microscope. It was found that if the interaction force between intercalant and matrix polymer is attractive, the matrix polymer intercalates more rapidly into the gallery of silicate layers. The faster intercalation of matrix polymer leads to the better dispersibility of silicate layers in the matrix polymer.

  • This paper discusses a force distribution scheme which minimizes the weighted norm of the forces/torques applied on weak points of cooperating multiple robot arms. The scheme is proposed to avoid the damage or unwanted motion of any weak point of robots or object stemming from excessive forces/torques. Since the proposed scheme can be used for either the joint torque minimization or the exerted force minimization on the object, it can be regarded as a unified force minimization method for multiple robot arms. The computational complexity in this scheme is analyzed using the properties of Jarcobian. Simulation of two identical PUMA robots held an object is carried out to illustrate the proposed scheme. By the proper choice of the weighting matrix in the performance index, we show that force minimization for a weak point can be achieved, and that the exerted force minimization on the object can be changed to the joint torque minimization.

Basis Translation Matrix between Two Isomorphic Extension Fields via Optimal Normal Basis

  • This paper proposes a method for generating a basis translation matrix between isomorphic extension fields. To generate a basis translation matrix, we need the equality correspondence of a basis between the isomorphic extension fields. Consider an extension field $F_{p^m}$ where p is characteristic. As a brute force method, when $p^m$ is small, we can check the equality correspondence by using the minimal polynomial of a basis element; however, when $p^m$ is large, it becomes too difficult. The proposed methods are based on the fact that Type I and Type II optimal normal bases (ONBs) can be easily identified in each isomorphic extension field. The proposed methods efficiently use Type I and Type II ONBs and can generate a pair of basis translation matrices within 15 ms on Pentium 4 (3.6 GHz) when $mlog_2p$ = 160.
