본 논문에서는 2007 교육과정에 따른 <5-1>, <6-1> 교과서에서 특정한 입체도형을 다루기에 앞서 일반적인 입체도형을 도입하고 있다는 것, <5-1>, <6-1>, <6-2> 교과서에서 구체적인 물건으로부터 입체도형을 추상해 내는 과정이 생략되어 있다는 것, 입체도형 관련 지도 내용의 몇몇 정의가 일관적이지 않고 모호하다는 세 가지에 초점을 맞추어 교과서에서의 입체도형 관련 지도 내용을 비판적으로 분석하고 있다. 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 다음의 네 가지를 제안할 수 있다. 첫째, 교과서의 지도 내용과 교육과정에서 규정하는 지도 내용을 일치시켜야 한다. 둘째, 초등교사에게 지도 내용의 범위를 지도서와 교육과정 해설서를 통해 상세히 알려줄 필요가 있다. 셋째, 교과서의 학년별 지도 내용을 재검토해야 한다. 넷째, 교과서의 상시 수정이 제도적으로 가능해야 한다.

Mathematics education for social science majors at the college level could be a totally different subject from mathematics education for mathematics majors. We discuss goals, curriculum and effective teaching of mathematics for social science majors with a focus on business, management and economics at the college level.

The purpose of this paper is to diagnose the problems of the revision process of the curriculum, and identify the issues in relation to the 7th mathematics curriculum. From the review on the curriculum revision process in Korea, three issues were identified; timing and scale of curriculum revision, research and curriculum revision, and the relationship between the revision of the overall curriculum and that of a subject curriculum. Regarding the mathematics curriculum, the three issues were raised for further discussion; lack of philosophy behind the mathematics curriculum, optimization of mathematics educational content, and differentiated curricula for students of different abilities.

The main purpose of this work is to propose programs of discrete mathematics for the department of mathematics education of teacher training universities. There is a description of the characteristics, goal, syllabus and contents of discrete mathematics course for pre-service teacher, followed by principles for teaching the subject.
