In this paper, we present a review of research perspectives and investigations in collegiate mathematics education from the four decades of development in the journal published by Korea Society of Mathematical Education. Research of mathematics education at the tertiary level, which had been a minor area in mathematics education, has made a significant development in the last decade in Europe md U.S.A. In this context, international journals for research in mathematics education were selected to comparatively examine and identify research trends and tasks in collegiate mathematics education. Based on the analysis of domestic at international journals, we present recommendations for further the development of Korean collegiate mathematics education research. First it is necessary to diversify the topics of educational research. Korean research of mathematics education at the tertiary level has been limited to the issues of curriculum developments, teacher education and computer technology. It is necessary to pursue more various topics such as conceptual development mathematical attitude and belief gender, socio-cultural aspect of teaching and teaming mathematics. Second, it is necessary to apply research methods for systematic investigations. It is important to note that international research of mathematics education introduces variety of research methods such as observation, interview, and survey in order to develop grounded theory of mathematics education. We end with pedagogical implications of the analyses presented and general conclusions concerning the perspectives for the future in collegiate mathematics education.

This study is a literature research on critical mathematics education. In this study, we analyzed the literature about critical theory and critical education, especially focused on Freire's educational works. And also, we reviewed studies and lesson examples about critical mathematics education. The purpose of this research is to improve understanding about critical mathematics education. We found the connection between the goals, teaching methods and contents of critical mathematics education and Freire's theory of critical pedagogy. Critical mathematics lessons stimulated student's sense of social agency and induced student's inquiry. Critical mathematics education has a merit on aspect of mathematical connection and communication by adopting social issues and student's discussion in mathematics lessons. Although there are many obstacles to overcome, critical mathematics education is one of the educational direction to seek.

In this paper we used text mining method to analyze journals of mathematics education posterior to the year of 2016. To figure out trends of mathematics education research. we analyzed the key words largely mentioned in the recent mathematics education journals by Term Frequency and Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency method. We also looked at how these keywords match up with the key words that appear of education to prepare for future society. This result can infer the characteristics of mathematics education research in the aspect upcoming research topics.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the trends of domestic research on mathematics teacher education in terms of the period, topics, methods, subjects, and mathematics content strands. For this purpose, a total of 220 research articles dealing with mathematics teacher education were analyzed, which have been published since 2000 by the Korean Society of Mathematics Education in the three journals: (a) The Mathematical Education; (b) Education of Primary School Mathematics; and (c) Communications of Mathematical Education. Regarding the period when the research was conducted, the number of articles on mathematics teacher education has been rapidly increased since the late 2000s. Regarding the topics, research on teacher orientation has been the most frequent topic and the studies dealing with professional development for teachers, teaching practices, or teacher knowledge tend to be popular. Regarding methods, survey and case study have been most frequently employed in studying mathematics teacher education. Regarding subjects, the main participants were in-service teachers, pre-service teachers, elementary school teachers, and secondary school teachers, respectively, who were in charge of a regular class. Finally, regarding mathematics content strands, previous studies on mathematics teacher education were not specific to mathematics content strands. Given these results, this paper closes with important implications for future research directions on mathematics teacher education in Korea.

This paper presents a survey study aiming to systematically review research on mathematics education in China and identify important variables that should be considered in future research. The literature surveyed is selected from doctoral theses. The study reveals that important progress has been made over the last two decades. Following the review and discussion, the study proposes five needed directions for advancing research on mathematics education in China.

본 연구의 목적은 사회정의를 위한 수학교육의 국내외 연구 동향을 알아보고 우리나라 수학교육에 주는 시사점을 제시하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 사회정의를 위한 수학교육에 대한 국내외 연구 동향을 알아보기 위하여 선행 연구들을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 사회정의에 대한 국외의 연구는 1960년대 말부터 Freire의 비판적 수학교육부터 시작하여 다양한 관점에서 연구가 활발하게 진행되어 오고 있고, 국내에서는 2000년대에 들어서면서 비판교육을 시작으로 최근에는 현장 교사들을 중심으로 자신들의 수학수업에 사회정의를 위한 수학을 적용하는 연구가 주류를 이루고 있음을 밝히고 있다. 현재의 우리나라 입시 등 교육 체제에서 적용이 쉽지 않음을 지적하면서 사회정의를 위한 수학교육이 우리의 수학교육에 주는 시사점을 다음과 같이 제시하고 있다. 사회정의를 위한 수학교육은 전통적인 수학 수업에 대한 반성의 기회를 제공하고, 인문학적 관점에서 통합과 융합적 접근을 가능하게 한다고 주장한다. 또한, 학생들에게 수학에 대한 긍정적인 태도를 가지도록 하며, 교사나 학생들에게 수학과 세상을 보는 관점을 보다 넓고 깊게 할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 수 있다고 설명한다.

수학교육 형평성은 문화, 인종 등과 같은 요인으로 야기되는 사회적 불평등과 수학교육의 관계에 주목한다. 수학교육 형평성은 최근 수학교육의 중요한 화두 중 하나로 인지되고 있으며, 미래 사회를 위한 수학교육의 방향을 설정하는 중요한 근거가 될 수 있다. 이에 본 문헌 연구에서는 국내외 선행연구를 검토하여 국내 수학교육 연구에 유의미한 시사점을 제공하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 국내외 195편의 문헌을 검토하여 수학교육 형평성의 개념과 의의를 분석하였다. 문헌 검토를 위해 본 연구에서는 연구 문제를 중심으로 선정된 선행연구를 범주화하여 수학교육 형평성과 관련한 기존 논의를 정리하였다. 이때 수학교육 형평성에 관한 연구 문제는 수학 교사, 수학교육과정, 수학 교실, 수학 평가, 수학 교실을 둘러싼 사회·문화적 배경으로 구분하였다. 본 연구의 분석 결과는 수학교육 형평성에 관해 국내외에 논의된 내용을 확인할 기회를 넘어 국내 수학교육 연구자에게 새로운 연구 방향과 방법을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

This article represents a survey on the Romanian mathematics education. we emphasize not only some of recent, specific and significant Romanian methods concerning the teaching and learning of mathematics, starting from the pre-school and primary level to the university mathematics education, but also the role of the national and international mathematical competitions, the education of mathematics teacher, the formation of the researchers in mathematics, their contributions and perspectives, the mathematics education in society and culture, the technology in mathematics education, links between research and practice, topical developments and for the future and other related topics.

본 연구는 수학교육학의 기초학문이 되는 수학과 다학문적인 성격을 띤 수학교육학을 학문학적으로 비교할 때 수학과 비교되는 수학교육학의 학문적 특징을 형식과학 대비 경험과학에 대한 논의를 중심으로 전개했다. 또한 연구방법을 중심으로 수학교육학의 기반이 되는 교육학, 심리학과 같은 사회과학과 수학교육학의 비교를 통해 수학교육학의 연구 방법적 특징에 대해 문헌연구를 통해 고찰해보았다. 본 연구에 따르면, 수학교육학은 연구 방법적 측면에서 자연과학 이라기보다는 사회과학의 성격을 많이 가지고 있으며, 형식과학으로서의 수학과 그 외 수학교육학의 인접학문들과는 구별되는 독특한 특징을 가지고 있다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 각 학문영역 연구의 주장하는 바의 정당성은 전혀 다른 시각으로 이해되어야 한다.

본 연구는 수학교육에서 영향력 있는 논문을 판별하는 기계학습 프로그램 개발 연구이다. 이를 위하여 과학계량학의 관점에서 논문의 영향력을 조명하고, 수학교육 연구 네트워크를 구성하고, 네트워크 중심성 지수인 PageRank로 수학교육 연구의 영향력으로 정의하였다. 영향력 있는 수학교육 연구를 판별하기 위하여 기계학습 모델을 설계하였으며, 이를 이용하여 영향력 있는 논문이 게재된 비율이 높은 학술지를 조사한 결과 Journal for Research in Mathematics Education(25.66%), Educational Studies in Mathematics(22.12%), Zentralblatt für Didaktik der Mathematik(8.46%), Journal of Mathematics Teacher Education(5.8%), Journal of Mathematical Behavior(5.51%) 순으로 나타났다. 수학교육 전문가들이 직접 논문을 읽고 질적으로 평가한 선행연구 결과와 유사한 결과를 기계학습 프로그램으로 도출할 수 있었다. 많은 인원과 시간이 필요했던 수학교육 연구의 영향력 평가를 인공지능을 이용하여 효율적으로 실시할 수 있었다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
