  • Various characteristics of ion transport properties of a charged mosaic membrane with a parallel array of positive and negative functional charges were investigated, From the analysis of the volume flux, it was found that the salt flux based on nonequilibrium thermodynamics, preferential salt transport across the charged mosaic membrane. Transport properties of the magnesium sulfate(MgSO$_4$) and sucrose across the charged mosaic membrane were estimated. As a result, metal salts transport depended largely on the charged states and molecular weight otherwise nonelectrolyte solution was rejected under all experimental conditions. On the other hand, the reflection coefficient s indicated the negative value that suggested preferential material transport and was independent of charged mosaic thickness.

  • The CSCM Upwind method and Material Transport Analysis (MTA) have been used to predict the thermal response and ablation rate for non-charring material to be used as thermal protection material (TPM) in KSR-III test rocket nozzle. The thermal boundary conditions such as cold wall heat-transfer rate and recovery enthalpy for MTA code are obtained from the upwind Navier-Stokes solution procedure. The heat transfer rate and temperature variations at rocket nozzle wall were studied with shape change of the nozzle surface as time goes by. The surface recession was severely occurred at nozzle throat and this affected nozzle performance such as thrust coefficient substantially.

  • Electroluminescence(EL) devices based on organic thin layers have attracted lot of interests because of their possible application as large-area display-emitting display. One of the problems of such devices is lifetime of the cell, where the degradation of the cell is partially due to the crystalliyzation of organic layers. In large part, this problem can be solved by using a multilayer device structure prepared by vapor deposition technique. In this study, blue light-emitting multilayer organic electroluminescence devices were fabricated vsing Poly (9-vinylcarbaEole) (PVK) and 2- (4-tert-butylphenyl)-5-(4$^{#}$-bis-phenyl) 1,3,4-oxadiazole (PBO) as hole trasport and electron transport material, respectively, where trim(8-hyd roxyquinolinate) aluminum (Al $q_3$) was used as a luminescenct material. A cell structure of glass sub- strate/indume-tin-oxide(ITO)/PCK/Al $q_3$/PBD/Mg:In was employed. Blue emission peak at 510nm was observed with this cell structure.e.

  • The transport phenomena of arsenic (As) doped amorphous selenium(a-Se:As) thin film for digital X-ray conversion material has been reported. The effect of As addition on the carrier mobility and recombination lifetime in a-Se:As sample has been measured using the moving photo-carrier grating (MPG) technique. An Increase in hole mobility and recombination was observed when 0.3% arsenic, was added into a-Se sample, whereas electron mobility decrease with arsenic addition due to the defect density. The fabricated a-Se:03% As device exhibited the highest X-ray sensitivity.

  • The effects of As addition In amorphous selenium (a-Se) films for digital X-ray conversion material have been studied using the moving photocarrier grating (MPG) technique We have found an increase in hole drift mobility and recombination lifetime, especially when 0.3% As is added into a-Se film, whereas electron mobility decreases with As addition due to the defect density. The transport properties for As doped a-Se films obtained by using MPG technique have been compared with X-ray sensitivity for a-Se:As X-ray device. • The lead-based perovskite (CH3NH3PbI3) material has a high molar coefficient, high crystallinity at low temperature, and long range of balanced electron-hole transport length. In addition, PCE of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has been dramatically improved by over 22% by amending the electronic quality of perovskite and by using state-of-the-art hole transporting materials (HTMs) such as tetrakis(N,N-di-p-methoxyphenylamine)-9,9'-spirobifluorene (spiro-OMeTAD) due to enhanced charge transport toward the electrode via properly aligned energy levels with respect to the perovskite. Replacing the spiro-OMeTAD with new HTMs with the desired properties of appropriate energy levels, high hole mobility in its pristine form, low cost, and easy processable materials is necessary for attaining highly efficient and stable PSCs, which are anticipated to be truly compatible for practical application. Furthermore, Recently Pb-free perovskite materials much attention as an alternative light-harvesting active layer material instead of lead based perovskite in photovoltaic cells. In this work, we demonstrate a Pb-free perovskite material for the light harvesting and emitter as optoelectronic devices.

  • Two new chitosan derivatives, polyamine grafted chitosan copolymers have been synthesized for corrosion protection of carbon steel in acidic medium. First, methyl acrylate graft chitosan copolymer (CS-MAA) was prepared by the reaction of chitosan (CS) and methyl acrylate (MAA) via the Michael addition reaction. Then, CS-MAA was reacted with ethylene diamine (EN) and triethylene tetramine (TN) respectively to synthesize ethylene diamine grafted chitosan copolymer (CS-MAA-EN) and triethylene tetramine grafted chitosan copolymer (CS-MAA-TN), and the structures were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). At last, the corrosion inhibition activities on Q235 carbon steel were investigated by using gravimetric measurements, metallographic microscope, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements. The compounds CS-MAA-EN and CS-MAA-TN show an appreciable corrosion inhibition property against corrosion of Q235 carbon steel in 5% HCl solution at $25^{\circ}C$. It has been observed that CS-MAA-EN shows greater corrosion inhibition efficiency than CS-MAA-TN. The inhibition efficiency of CS-MAA-EN was close to 90% when the mass fraction concentration was 0.2%~0.3%; the inhibition efficiency of CS-MAA-TN was close to 85% when the mass fraction concentration was 0.02%. The present work provided very promising results in the preparation of green corrosion inhibitors.
