  • Applying the matrix method for the two dimensional Markovian queues, this paper offers a procedure to calculate the exact values of measures of performance of M/M/s queues where customers demand multiple number of servers. A method of obtaining steady state probabilities is illustrated as well. An example problem is also presented.

  • Often in a production process, the quality of items is serially dependent. We assume that the quality of items is an attribute which can be classified as good or bad with a Markovian dependence structure. In order to determine sampling inspection plan characteristics such as total inspection cost and average outgoing quality, we design an economic model and illustrate an efficient procedure for design of best inspection plan using graphs based on numerical calculations.

  • Pores can form and grow in biomembranes because of factors such as thermal fluctuation, transmembrane electrical potential, and cellular environment. We propose a new statistical physics model of the pore growth treated as a non-Markovian stochastic process, with a free energy barrier and memory friction from the membrane matrix treated as a quasi-two-dimensional viscoelastic and dielectric fluid continuum.(omitted)

  • In this paper, We suggest a unified approach for the analysis of discrete-time MAP/G/1 queueing system. Many researches on the D-MAP/G/1 queue have been used different approach to analyze system queue length and waiting time for the same system. Therefore, a unified framework for analyzing a system is necessary from a viewpoint of system design and management. We first derived steady-state workload distribution, and then waiting time and sojourn time are derived by the result of workload analysis. Finally, system queue length distribution is derived with generating function from the sojourn time distribution.

  • In this paper, we propose a Markovian queueing model(M/M/1)-based call admission control to reduce forced terminating rate of non-real secondary user's call for Multi-services Cognitive Radio Networks. A existing control has a problem that the forced terminating rate increases because of adopting a policy of spectrum priority allocation to real calls. In our scheme the rate can be reduced as the call that has no useful spectrum waits in a queue until getting an available spectrum. Our scheme use a neural-net based prediction of primary user's reappearance. Through the simulation, we analysis the call forced terminating rate, access delay and spectrum utilization efficiency, and then show that our scheme can more reduce the forced terminating rate of the call, compared to that of the existing algorithm.

  • One of the most important matters in designing network and realizing service, is to grip on the traffic characteristics. Conventional traffic prediction and analysis used the models which based on the Poisson or Markovian. Recently, experimental research on the LAN, WAN and VBR traffic properties have been pointed rut that they weren't able to display actual real traffic specificities because the models based on the Poisson assumption had been underestimated the long range dependency of network traffic and self-similar peculiarities, it has been lately presented that the new approach method using self-similarity characteristics as similar as the real traffic models. Therefore, in this paper, we generated self-similar data traffic like real traffic as background load. On the existing ABR congestion control algorithm, we analyzed by classify into ACR, buffer utilization. cell drop rate, transmission throughput with the representative EFCI, ERICA, EPRCA and NIST twitch algorithm to show the efficient reaction about the burst traffic.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient policing mechanism for Markov model-based traffic descriptors of VBR MPEG video traffic. A VBR video sequence is described by a set of traffic descriptors using a scene-basedMarkov model to the network for the effective resource allocation and accurate QoS prediction. The networkmonitors the input traffic from the source using a proposed new policing method. for policing the steady statetransition probability of scene states, we define two representative monitoring parameters (mean holding andrecurrence time) for each state. For frame level cell rate policing of each scene state, accumulated average cellrates for the frame types are compared with the model parameters. We propose an exponential bounding functionto accommodate dynanic behaviors during the transient period. Our simulation results show that the proposedpolicing mechanism for Markovian traffic descriptors monitors the sophisticated traffic such as MPEG videoeffectively and well protects network resources from the nalicious or misbehaved traffic.

  • Numerous genuine issues, for example, financial exchange expectation, climate determining and so forth has inalienable arbitrariness related with them. Receiving a probabilistic system for forecast can oblige this dubious connection among past and future. Commonly the interest is in the contingent likelihood thickness of the arbitrary variable included. One methodology for expectation is with time arrangement and auto relapse models. In this work, liner expectation technique and approach for computation of forecast coefficient are given and likelihood of blunder for various assessors is determined. The current methods all need in some regard assessing a boundary of some accepted arrangement. In this way, an elective methodology is proposed. The elective methodology is to gauge the restrictive thickness of the irregular variable included. The methodology proposed in this theory includes assessing the (discretized) restrictive thickness utilizing a Markovian definition when two arbitrary factors are genuinely needy, knowing the estimation of one of them allows us to improve gauge of the estimation of the other one.   • In this study, we analyzed queue length and sojourn time of discrete-time BMAP/G/1 queues under the workload control. Group customers (packets) with correlations arrive at the system following a discrete-time Markovian arrival process. The server starts busy period when the total service time of the arrived customers exceeds a predetermined workload threshold D and serves customers until the system is empty. From the analysis of workload and waiting time, distributions of queue length at the departure epoch and arbitrary time epoch and system sojourn time are derived. We also derived the mean value as a performance measure. Through numerical examples, we confirmed that we can obtain results represented by complex forms of equations, and we verified the validity of the theoretical values by comparing them with simulation results. From the results, we can obtain key performance measures of complex systems that operate similarly in various industrial fields and to analyze various optimization problems.

  • For the traditional ALOHA system without capture, the Markov chain obtained using the number of backlogged users at each slot if shown to be non-ergodic. So the infinite population ALOHA with fixed retransmission probabilities is unstable for any choice of the arrival rates and retransmission probabilities. The capture ALOHA system of also shown to be unstable for any arrival rate unless it has perfect. In this paper, we study a stabilization policy for capture ALOHA system that controls the retransmission probabilities and prove the stability of its multidimensional Markovian model by empolying a continuous Lyapunov function, and thus identify the stability region. We also study a delay performance through computer simulation th show the stability for any input rate below the maximum achievable channel throughput.
