  • As the library and information environment advanced, librarians should participate in continuing education programs for the improvement of services to satisfy users' need. To develop a curriculum model of continuing education for academic librarians, we reviewed related previous studies and continuing education programs performed both in Korea and overseas. Then. a survey was done to the academic librarians sampled systematically to identify the subject need for education. Based on the analysis, 2 sets of comprehensive curriculum were devised for the middle managers and working librarians respectively. The curriculum for the middle managers is consisted of 27 courses in 9 subject fields. and the curriculum far the working librarians is consisted of 25 courses in 7 subject fields. We selected one highly demanding subject from each curriculum, and developed specific educational program models. 'Library marketing' for middle managers and 'building and management of digital information resources' for working librarians. Program models include educational goal, content, teaching/learning strategies. duration time, teaching methods/tools, and instructor qualifications in detail. Finally, recommendations are suggested for the promotion and settlement of the continuing education.

  • The shift from elite education to mass education in Vietnam has met the demand for education for everybody as well as for quality human resource talent for an emerging nation. Under the resource constraint, understanding the quality dimensions of education and its priority level is important for effective and efficient policies. This study was carried out using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies to develop quality criteria and a ranking model. Two rounds of in-depth interviews were conducted with fifteen experts in the field, who were rectors, employers, and recruitment specialists to develop the quality framework applied in Vietnamese universities under total quality management (TQM), starting from the input of the senior secondary school leavers, through a teaching process to the output. The first round of interviews were unstructured questionnaires designed to explore the main factors in quality assessment model. The second round affirmed the experts' agreement on the assessment model. Then, fuzzy logic was applied to rank eight criteria in the quality assessment model into priority order: cost, teaching and administrative staff, leadership, curriculum, student-related factors, internationalization, admissions, and campus. The results are critical for identifying the necessary actions to enhance the education quality and to further research on the optimal quality model.

  • One of the biggest challenges in export activities of SME is the increasingly cultural diversity that requires especially export managers to adapt their doing business in many different kinds of cross-cultural situations effectively. A relative newly developed concept 'Cultural Intelligence' has been evaluated as a key element for the success in international business activities. This study aims to investigate empirically the role of Cultural Intelligence(CQ), one component of cultural competence, on export marketing adaptation. The statistical method used to test the hypotheses was Structural Equation Modeling using PLS. The results of this study are follows. The moderating role of Cultural Intelligence between information seeking and information using abilities is more stronger in marketing rather than relationship adaptation. Cultural Intelligence moderates between them. Critical factors affecting Cultural Intelligence are also discussed; foreign language fluency, business travels in abroad, characteristics of the business travels, multi-lingual ability, pre-education related cultural subjects, and visit experience in foreign countries. Especially, export managers' foreign language ability leads to much stronger influence on cultural intelligence. The result of the empirical study provides important implications for export SME and export supporting organizations. Export firms and supporting organizations must expand programs widely in multi cultural training and education to help managers gain a better understanding in a various export environment.

  • Purpose: This study was performed to identify the level of Korean elderly's knowledge regarding concepts of end-of-life (EOL), Life-sustaining-treatment (LST), and advance directives (AD) which are critical aspects for establishing AD in Korean society. Methods: A questionnaire survey was done between October 2011 and February 2012. Knowledge of AD was evaluated with 3 aspects including EOL, LST, and AD utilizing a questionnaire that was developed by authors for the study. Data were collected from 268 community dwelling elderly from three cities and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way analysis of variance, and a Scheffe post hoc test with SAS Ver. 9.1 program. Results: Overall, Korean elderly were poorly acquainted with AD related concepts. Significant differences in awareness of AD including understanding of EOL, the level of comprehension of LST, and knowledge about AD were revealed by gender, education level, economic state, and acquaintance with terms of AD or LST. Conclusion: To acknowledge autonomy and support quality of life for elderly and to meet the purpose of AD, attention should be given to target populations including elderly in terms of knowledge level related to AD, social marketing, and infra structure relevant to practice AD in our society.

The learning criteria was developed on a basis of 6 kinds of Technology Home Economics textbooks by 2009 Amended Curriculum, and the factors of STEAM were extracted according to related contents. From the results of this study, the unit 'Dress and Self-expression' assimilated T.E.A.M with learning related to clothing psychology, consumer behavior, fashion design, and Korean fashion. The unit 'eco-friendly clothing and fixing clothes' was found to assimilate S.T.E.A.M. with learning related to clothes science and dress structure. Accordingly we can understand this unit also consists of the S. T. E. A. M assimilation such as clothes science, fashion marketing, dress structure, dress aesthetics, design and so on. Both units 'dress and self-expression' and 'eco-friendly clothing and fixing clothes' were found to consist of suggesting situations, creative planning and emotional experience following the learning criteria of STEAM. • In this study, we developed the Field-Experiential Learning Framework Using the Location Based Mobil-learning System (LBMS) and it is mobile Augmented Reality (AR) for smart learning system which is advanced e-learning. AR is technology that seamlessly overlays computer graphics on the real world. LBMS-AR has become widely available because of mobile AR. Mobile AR is possible to get information from real world anytime, anywhere. Nowadays, there are various areas using AR such as entertainment, marketing, location-based AR. We analysed the result of survey and implemented the functions. Also, for survey about application's effectiveness, we have focus group interview (FGI). Then we demonstrated and explained the application to them. The result of survey about application's effectiveness shows that application have higher utilization in education area. One of the most promising areas is education. AR in education shows lifelike images to users for realism. It's a good way for improving concentration and attention. We utilize only a beacone for image-based AR without other sensor.
