  • This paper proposes a methodology to compute the servicing price of reactive power management and voltage control in competitive electrical power market. Compound method is proposed and its result is proved by a sample test. The method can be useful in providing additional insight into power system operation and can be used to determine tariffs of reactive power management service.

  • This paper is intended to estimate demand for milk using POS data. POS databases were taken from various retail store across the country that account for 5 percent. Own price elasticities are negative and most milk products are statistically significant. Advertising effects are marginal, and statistically significant except flavored milk. Seasonality is apparent from July through september except children's milk.

  • As China has achieved continuous high growth, innovative housing system and rapid growth of housing finance for thirty years since its reforming and opening, Chinese real estate industry has developed rapidly, investment in real estate has increased remarkably and price of real estate has increased continuously. In particular, as China joined WTO in 2001, overseas companies have expanded investment in Chinese real estate market with chances of potential profit. Recently, management of foreign capital real estate companies has expanded from housing to office buildings and luxury shops. Besides, management has expanded from real estate development to various tasks such as management, brokerage service, lease management and financial investment. In order to measure relationship between FDI in Chinese real estate and Chinese housing price, this document utilizes not only various data such as housing price, FDI to real estate, domestic loan of real estate, interest rate and exchange rate in 35 major cities across China but also previous researches to set an empirical analysis model and analyze effects of foreigners' direct investment in Chinese real estate on Chinese housing price.

  • The today many companies are tilting to enjoy the dominant position in the globalization of global market. The past business management is focus on the price and quality, but many companies are doing our utmost for customer satisfaction of various needs of customers. Therefore, The efficient logistics management is a core element in the competitiveness of company that respond more quickly and effectively to market. Now, The companies are building an integrated SCM(Supply Chain Management) system that is able to manage and operate procurement, production, distribution & logistics activity. Among the IT infra, The RFID technique is received special attention for this successful SCM System, continuously it is being researched and developed. Also, they recognize RFID techniques that offer various services at supply chain flow, create value of company. This study propose implications in other industry for biz model development and direction based on RFID in many industry through case study for development of the distribution logistics information system on using RFID.

  • The objective of this study is to provide development strategies in the production and distribution system of highland Chinese cabbage by evaluating and analyzing problems of the current system, focusing on several main stages between production and distribution system of highland Chinese cabbage. Through interview of groups such as farmers, distributers in the main producing areas, commission merchants of the wholesale market and large-scale distributors the relavant information was collected. Also, data such as production situations in main producing areas, distribution conditions in the wholesale market was analyzed. The functions of highland Chinese cabbage were classified and the current state of highland Chinese cabbage distribution system was investigated to provide an overall insight into the highland Chinese cabbage distribution system. Also the factors which will affect a price of wholesale market and consumer of highland Chinese cabbage were examined. Finally problems and improvements in the production and distribution system through analysis of the distribution system of highland Chinese cabbage were provided. the main contents of this study are as follows. The first is to keep stability of production in main producing areas by applying a differentiated production method, for example, rainshelter cultivation method. The second is to establish the distribution system which the relevant information is opened transparently. The third is that the consistent cold transportation system from main producing areas to consumers must be built.

  • The prompt recovery of housing market in Korea became the national task, for which tools that can analyze the influence that changing situation of housing market and new policy may have on the housing market needs to be developed. Thus, this research intends to develop Multi-Agent Housing Market Model and simulation system in Jinju City as a study area. Analyzing the local housing market of Jinju City, then multi-agent model of housing market that consolidates 3 sub-models, house choice model, hedonic model of house price and location choice model is developed. Moreover in order to develop simulation system the model is programmed in the virtual space of which the size is $150{\times}100$ cell including physical shape of city such as road, urban facilities, land use, etc. With the system, simulations are performed to confirm the impact of urban development on the pattern of residential location. As a result, it is found that the residential location can not be easily induced when only road, commercial and convenient facilities are supplied. However, it is also found that since supplying green results in very many residences, arrangement of infrastructure and environmental factor should be considered at the same time for urban development. As conclusion, it is confirmed that the model and simulation system developed in this research smoothly works to be utilized for the analysis of diverse policy experiment and housing market.

The plan of stabilizing Gyeongnam Chung-yang Green Pepper Farm Income (경남 청양 풋고추농가 소득 안정화 방안)

  • This study examined the instability factor of real income and net profits of Chung-yang Green Pepper Farm through an analysis of the operating costs. Furthermore, this paper suggests a plan for stabilizing the price by shipment adjustments resulting from an analysis of the price elasticity by A Linear Approximated Inverse Almost Ideal Demand System (LA/IAIDS). The income instability factor of the farm based on an analysis of the operating costs was attributed to the unexpected loading of utility expenses and collapse of the price due to oversupply at a specific point in time. On the other hand, this is insufficient to completely explain the income instability factor of Chung-yang Green Pepper Farm because a price collapse does not include the monthly price changes. An analysis of the price and scale flexibility of Chung-yang Green Pepper Farm by monthly data showed that annual farm net yield increases by 1.21% due to a 2.21% increase in price if the shipment quantity is reduced to 1% a year. In summary, a plan that supports the farm price received through declining shipments in winter is effective in stabilizing the income of farms. Because Chung-yang Green Pepper in Gyeongnam region has an especially high market share of 82.5%, the prices and income of Gyeongnam Chung-yang Green Pepper farms can be stabilized effectively if they form an association of producers around the Gyeongnam region and adjust the shipment.

  • Since 2004, the government decided to gradually introduce Actual Cost Data into cost estimate for improving problems of below-cost tendering and to reflect fair market price through competition and carry contract efficiently. However, there are many concerns that Actual Cost Data has not reflected real market price, even that has contributed to reduce the government's budget. General construction firm's burden for labor cost is imputed to specialty contractors and eventually it becomes construction worker's burden. Therefore, realization of Actual Cost Data is very important factor to settle this system. To understand realization level and make short term forecast, this paper drew construction group of which labor cost constitutes more than 95% of direct cost, and compares their Actual Cost Data with relevant skilled workers's unit wage and predicts using time series analysis. The bid price which is not be reflected market price accelerates work environment changes and leads to directly affect such as late disbursement of wages, bankruptcy to workers. Therefore this paper is expected to be used to the preliminary data for solving the problem and establishing improvement of Actual Cost Data.

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest the appropriate marketing strategies for Korean fashion companies wishing to enter the US market. In-depth-interview with documentary research were performed to investigate the seven Korean fashion companies launching in the US market as wholesalers or retailers. The interviews were executed from May to July 2007. The results of the study were summarized in accordance with Marketing Mix(4P's). In most cases, the brand targets are female customers of 20's to early 30's. The products carried by the companies are trendy with a tint of vintage and oriental feelings. The price ranges from middle to high level. Most brands are engaged in wholesaling through trade shows to sell the merchandise for department stores or specialty stores, but recently are trying to convert to retailing. Trade shows and show rooms are used as one of the promotion tools, but celebrity marketing has also been active for the promotions. Most companies suggested their superior qualities of the products as their strength, and the lack of experience and information as their weakness. Most companies forecast that the influence of FTA between Korea and the US may be limited because of Korea companies' overseas outsourcing system.

A Quantitative Trade Model with Unemployment

  • I employ search-and-matching to a multi-country and multi-sector Ricardian model with input-output linkages, trade in intermediate goods, and sectoral heterogeneity, in order to quantify the welfare effects from tariff changes. The paper shows that labor market frictions can be a source of comparative advantage in the sense that better labor market conditions contribute to lower cost in production. Labor market frictions play a critical role in determining the probability of exporting goods to trading partners, and interact with bilateral trade share, price, expenditures, etc. Unemployment and changes in unemployment rates due to tariff reductions contribute welfare changes across countries, implying that welfare effects based on quantitative trade models with full-employment are likely to be biased. I confirm the biased welfare effects by revisiting Caliendo and Parro (2015), who conduct an analysis of the welfare effects from the NAFTA from 1993 to 2005. I show that the welfare gap between theirs and mine has a positive correlation with changes in observed unemployment rates across countries. With the constructed model, I further conduct counterfactual exercises by asking what would happen if China's tariffs remain unchanged from 2006 to 2015. It turns out that there are mild welfare effects to trading partners in the world trading system.
