  • It is well-known that an analytic generic CR submainfold M of codimension m in Cn+m is locally transformed by a biholomorphic mapping to a plane Cn$\times$Rm ⊂ Cn$\times$Cm whenever the Levi form L on M vanishes identically. We obtain such a normalizing biholomorphic mapping of M in terms of the defining function of M. Then it is verified without Frobenius theorem that M is locally foliated into complex manifolds of dimension n.

  • Currently many devices reproduce electronic images in a variety of ways. However, the colors that are reproduced are different from the original color due to the differences in the gamut between devices. In this paper, a gamut mapping method utilizing a simultaneous mapping function and a lightness rescaling is proposed. This method enhance the local-color characteristics and lightness contrast. The experimental result shows that the overall contrast and the colorfulness were increased.

  • In this paper we consider the meromorphic function G(z) with a pole of order 1 at -a and analytic function F(z) with a zero -a of order 2 in $\mathbb{D}=\{z :{\mid}z{\mid}<1\}$, where -1 < a < 1. From these functions we obtain the regular simply-connected minimal surface $S=\{(u(z),\;{\nu}(z),\;H(z)):z{\in}\mathbb{D}\}$ in $E^3$ and the harmonic function $f=u+i{\nu}$ defined on $\mathbb{D}$, and then we investigate properties of the minimal surface S and the harmonic function f.

  • Lane keeping assist and departure prevention system are the key functions of ADAS. In this paper, we propose lane detection method which uses Gaussian function based RANSAC. The proposed method consists mainly of IPM (inverse perspective mapping), Canny edge detector, and Gaussian function based RANSAC (Random Sample Consensus). The RANSAC uses Gaussian function to extract the parameters of straight or curved lane. The proposed RANSAC is different from the conventional one, in the following two aspects. One is the selection of sample with different probability depending on the distance between sample and camera. Another is the inlier sample score that assigns higher weights to samples near to camera. Through simulations, we show that the proposed method can achieve good performance in various of environments.

  • This study examines the limitations of existing crime mapping that relies mainly on reported crime data, suggests a crime mapping method based on experts' and users' assessments of a neighborhood environment as an alternative approach, and conducts a case study on a real-world site by applying the suggested approach. According to the results of the case analysis, while the areas adjoining arterial roads with heavy pedestrian traffic were shown as high crime risk areas in the crime map based on actual reported crime data, the areas adjoining local roads with low pedestrian traffic were high-risk areas in the crime risk area map based on experts' and residents' evaluations. This study makes a contribution to the field in that it demonstrates the detailed application process of crime risk area mapping according experts' and residents' evaluations, compares the results with those of an existing crime map, and finally shows that the former can function as a complement to the latter.

  • This paper presents a new global intensity compensation method for extracting moving object in a visual surveillance system by compensating time variant intensity changes of background region. The method that compensates a little changes of intensity due to time variant illumination change and automatic gain control of camera is called global intensity compensation. The proposed method expresses global intensity change with a mapping table to describe complex form of intensity change while the previous method models this global intensity change with a simple function as a straight line. The proposed method builds the mapping table by calculating the cross histogram between two images and then by selecting an initial point for generating the mapping table by using Hough transform applied to the cross histogram image. Then starting from the initial point, the mapping table is generated according to the proposed algorithm based on the assumption that reflects the characteristic of global intensity change. Experimental results show that the proposed method makes the compensation error much smaller than the previous GIC method

  • For last several decades, the color correction methods have been proposed for HDR(high dynamic range) images. However, color distortion problems take place after correcting the colors such as halos, dominant color as well known. Accordingly, this article presents a novel approach in which the method consists of tone-mapping method and cone response function. In the proposed method, the tone mapping method is used to improve the contrast in the given HDR image based on chromatic and achromatic based on the CIEXYZ tristimulus value, expressed in c/m2. The cone response function is used to deal with mismatch between corrected image and displayed image as well as to estimate various human visual effects based on the CMCAT2000 color appearance model. The experimental results show that the proposed method yields better performance of color correction over the conventional method in subjective and quantitative quality, and color reproduction.
