수평연속주조에 의한 과공정 Al-Si합금 제조에 관한 연구 (A Study on Manufacturing Process of Hypereutectic Al-Si Alloy via Horizontal Continuous Casting)

  • The equipment for the horizontal continuous casting was built to produce hyper-eutectic Al-Si bars with a small cross-section of 25mm in diameter. The manufacturing processes including withdrawal cycle and secondary cooling methods were modified to refine the primary and the eutectic Si. The longitudinal casting speeds varied over the ranges of 670-1100mm/min for pure Al, and 200-350mm/min for Al-17wt%Si alloy. Due to the difference of cooling rate in the mould, microstructural asymmetry between the lower and the upper part of bar was observed. Thus, manufacturing processes such as cooling and withdrawal method were optimally combinated to get the homogeneous cast structure. With the increase of casting speed, the primary Si size was refined down to $30{\mu}m$ near the surface, and $80{\mu}m$ in the center of the bar.

  • For an industry, production capacity is defined as the maximum level of output that plants can maintain within the framework of a realistic work schedule, taking account of normal downtime, and assuming sufficient availability of inputs to operate machinery and equipment in place. Such capacity is one of the important and basic due to measure, manage and evaluate the production performance and ability of any industrial bodies. However, the estimating methods now in use in Korea are seemed far from the definition above. And there are not any standard estimating method suggested even in the same sort of manufacturing and also no applicable theory for objective and exact measurement. Thus, in this paper, a new measuring model is suggested as standard and supporting theories are developed for general measurement purpose to any manufacturing industries.

  • This research presents a modeling and a manufacturing method of screw flow meter. This paper introduces the efficient design and manufacturing method of screw type flow meter using reverse engineering and test technology. The methods introduced this paper utilize the reverse engineering that is increasing accuracy of modeling and manufacturing of reverse model. And then it can be used in performance test with hydraulic test equipment. Hence this can be used in the basic document for development of the quite accurate flowmeter.

광섬유 케이블 접속함체의 사출성형 특성 분석 (Characteristics of Injection Molding in Optical Fiber Splice Closure)

  • Optical fiber splice closure serves to protect connection parts from external environment. Moreover, it functions as a connection, junction, and distribution in diverse surroundings such as aerial, underground, duct, and pole. In this research, first, the optical fiber splice closure, its configuration, and the design problem were briefly investigated. Second, the design and application for in-line cable closure were studied to satisfy its construction and technical features. The injection molding conditions and optimal design were conducted to save time and cost during the manufacturing process. Third, methods to minimize loss via of optical fiber cable while strongly fixing optical fiber cable with optical cable holder to prevent fracture were researched, and tests such as perfect air tightness and mechanical and environmental performance were conducted.

  • There are many statistical evaluation methods, A more technical Perspective is needed in estimating the effect of the Manufacturing Process for improving the Productivity, Process network analysis is a technique which has the potentiality for a wire use to improve the manufacturing process which other techniques can't be used to analyze effectively. The concept of six sigma plan was developed and pursued by Motorola to improve the process control. The goals of six sigma plan are established on the foundation of customer satisfaction such as Quality, Cost Delivery and Service This paper presents how to improve the manufacturing process by statistical process control for the evaluation of six sigma level.

  • The key competition factor of manufacturing industries has progressively changed from cost to quality and time. Recently, the manufacturing environments more rapidly change than before. So, many companies want to introduce a advanced manufacturing system like CIMS to meet various user's needs and short delivery. But there is a considerable gap between the decision to invest and the achievement of promised benefits. Managers, generally, cannot afford CIM invesment unless they can determine beforehand that CIM will work in thier company and that will provide a coherent strategy and satisfactory return on investment In many cases, it is impossible to justify CIM investment by only economical analysis. Decision making problems like CIM investment are of a multiple objective nature. So, decision making process and multiattribute utility function are very useful methods to evaluate CIM justification In this paper, we described the key functions of CIM justification evaluation using IDEF methodology and developed the applicattion procedure of DMP and MUF method for CIM justification.

  • Increased complexity of products and their manufacturing processing demans higher quality control and monitoring than ever before. Therefore, flexible automatization or flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) offer numerous advantages over alternative manufacturing methods. In this state, a in-process monitoring is one of the important flexible automatino system. And as use of NC and CNC machine tool has been increasing, cutting work has automating and it is necessary to develop the automatic production system combined a couple of machine tool. Thus, in this paper to search examination it can measure the tool wear and the tool life and can be more practical research subject.

  • Recently, many enterprises are installing AMSs(Automated Manufacturing Systems) for their competitive advantages. As the level of automation increases, proper design and validation of control logic is a imperative task for the successful operation of AMSs. However, current discrete event simulation methods mainly focus on the performance evaluation. As a result, they lack the modeling capabilities for the detail logic of automated manufacturing system controller. Proposed in this paper is a method of validation of the controller logic for automated material handling system using an object-oriented design and simulation. Using this method, FA engineers can validate the controller logic easily in earlier stage of system design, so they can reduce the time for correcting the logic errors and enhance the productivity of control program development Generated simulation model can also be used as a communication tool among FA engineers who have different experiences and disciplines.

  • The strength of concrete depends on factors of materials, composition and manufacturing method. Among these factors, preparatory experiments are to consider and analyze the factors on compressive strength of ultra-high strength concrete according to types of aggregate, binder content, water-binder ratio, and curing methods. And the final experiment to develop the ultra-high strength over 3,000kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ is based on these preparatory experiments. As the result of this final expriment. We could manufacture the ultra-high strength concrete with a marvelous compressive strength concrete with a marvelous compressive strength of 3,116kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$. This study is to compare and analyze the manufacturing system of ultra-high strength concrete of 3,116kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ compressive strength in the side of material development of construction industry.

  • The easily use of WWW and Web browser of INTERNET makes the world our stage. But when we search for the information and resource that we want, the information supplied by search engine (e.g., Yahoo, Lycos, WebCrawler, Alta Vista) is inadequate to acquire the necessary and related information of research issues. This paper surveys AMT(Advanced Manufacturing Technology) which is the research topics recently on the WWW(WorLd Wide Web) and provides searching methods and information for academic research, technical report, proceedings, software, etc. It also briefly surveys WWW-VL(Virtual Library) and reviews the major three technology, CALS (Commerce At Light Speed), AMS(Agile Manufacturing System), CE(Concurrent Engineering), that is recently the focus of the research issue of Industrial Engineer.
