In supply chains, coordination between a manufacturer and suppliers is regarded as the most important issue when partnership of organizations is considered. Since the suppliers are external to the manufacturer and poor coordination between them results in excessive delays and ultimately leads to poor customer service, manufacturers need a new methodology to select suppliers and to manage and enhance the partnership between manufacturer and suppliers. We suggest a methodology that extends knowledge obtained from the supplier selection process to the supplier management process. We reserved a word, the supplier selection and management system (SSMS) for this methodology. In this paper, we explain how the SSMS is applied to a real supply chain. The methodology identifies the managerial criteria using information derived from supplier selection process and makes use of them in the supplier management process. These managerial criteria include key criteria that are major criteria required by the manufacturer for the best quality of parts from suppliers according to the character of each part, and weak criteria that show the shortcomings of selected suppliers as compared with alternative suppliers with regard to each criterion. The effectiveness of supplier management with managerial criteria was verified by a t-test and a correlation analysis with data collected and hypothesized from a Korean air-conditioner manufacturer.

Objective : This study aims to investigate the priority of education needs of managerial competencies for Korean Medicine doctors. Method : Self-administered questionnaires were sent via on-line survey system to 4,107 Korean Medicine (KM) doctors who were registered in the Association of Korean Medicine and whose business places were in Seoul. The cognition of necessities, present levels, and future importance of managerial competencies were measured. To measure the degree of educational needs on health management, t-test and Borich method were used. Results : The response rate was 1.9%(79 persons) and 68 responses were included in the analysis. The cost-effectiveness studying ability and the public relations ability were the most important competencies. Analyzing the competency groups by t-test and Borich method, the marketing group was the most important competency group. Many KM doctors (53 persons; 68.9%) who answered this questionnaire expressed needs of the business administration course. Conclusion : KM doctors conceded the necessity of business competency to manage their hospitals or clinics. Academic institutions needs to consider the implementation of business administration courses for KM students in accordance with needs of the managerial competencies.

This paper develops a new approach to dealing with qualitative reasoning processes involved in managerial decisions, drawing upon choice strategies that have been developed within the general framework of multi-criteria decision making. Issues such as choices under uncertainty and preference formulation are addressed. An MCDM DSS intended to assist in high-level management decisions must focus on helping the decision maker to properly define the problem by providing a structure to it and to dynamically evaluate the alternative courses of action. A conceptual architecture is developed and presented to propose a general model for designing decision support systems specifically designed to assist in MCDM in a managerial context. A commercial loan approval judgment case is described to illustrate the real-world situation where decisions are made under fuzziness and usually require a high degree of intuition and subjective judgment. Development of a prototype system intended to partially represent application of the architecture is described.

The lack of close working relationship between agricultural research, extension organizations and farmers, is one of the most difficult problems confronting agricultural technology system. Systems approach is an effective method to use in indentifying lingkage problems in agricultural technology system, and it is a problem-solving methodology. There are two basic types of linkage mechanisms; organizational and managerial. Organizational mechanisms involve the structural modification of the research and extension organizations involved in an agricultural technology system. The other major type of lingkage mechanisms involves a range of managerial interventions such as joint planning and review activities, collaborative program activities, and resource allocation procedures, etc.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of home informatization on the family system. This study is based on the systems approach. A family system is composed of two major subsystems-personal and managerial. Managerial subsystem is concerned to instrumental function, such as time management and financial management. Personal subsystem is concerned to expressive function, such as family relations and interactions. So this study attempts to analyze the effects of Internet on the family system through time management, financial management, and family relations. The results from reviewing several related researches are that home informatization through Internet use has changed time management, financial management, and family relations. Finally this study suggests three plans of home informatization for contributing to improve the quality of family living.

The purpose of this study is to extract managerial factor into each cell which is classified by the characteristic area of new products. For this purpose, the characteristic area of new products is classified by which is Needs & Seeds Basis. The focus of this study is on examination of failure factors, which have an important effect upon new product failure. The variables for this study were selected from literature survey and pre-interview was implemented specially. The subject of study was project leaders of electronics industry where have taken the leading part in product development activities in Korean manufacturing industries. Enquete survey was conducted in each firm and project managers were asked to respond to 37 questions. Conclusion of this study based on many significant results gained by the various multi-variated analysis are summarized as follows. First, it can be noted that failure factors are different by each classified model and characteristic area of a new product. Second, it has been identified that the important factors for the new product development were technical & managerial support and it's ability, namely, the crucial factors of failure product were lacking in ability of technical development and R&D management system construction.

Service Providers need to monitor the level of consumer's satisfaction on service they provide continuously and they use appropriate method to measure their operating status. They have to make a plan on their resource and infrastructure to provide their service in the right place at the right time whenever they need. Most previous studies on IT service quality are mainly focused on criteria or levels of quality measurement even though those criteria and levels should be set by considering consumer's needs. And considering for consumer's needs with managerial factors was not found on those studies. So, we suggest deducing quality factors for continuous improvement of IT service management system in this paper as identify the relative priority using QFD method which consider consumers' voices and managerial factors when decide quality factors of IT service management system introduced SLA. We also confirm that our suggestion is practicable and applicable for current operation by case study.

모든 조직체에서 추진되는 경영개혁의 정언적 명제는 조직의 핵심역량을 강화하는 것이다. 그렇다면 최근에 다운사이징, 전략적 계획, 리엔지니어링의 차원에서 단행한 국내의 대학도서관의 경영개혁은 장서개발과 정보봉사라는 본질적 역량을 강화하는 방향으로 진행되고 있는가. 이 논문에서는 특히 대학 도서관과 전자계산소의 조직적 통합과 그에 따른 명칭변경, 내부 조직의 팀제로의 개편 등에 주목하여 경영개혁의 동향과 한계를 반추하고 바람직한 지향성을 모색하였다.

Selection of appropriate knowledge acquisition and representation techniques is regarded as a major task in the development of expert systems. This depends on the characteristics of problem domains. Expert system builders have often adopted a technique without a formal analysis of application domains. The purpose of this paper is to provide the best knowledge aquisition and representation technique for use in human resource management problem domains. In an attempt to meet this purpose, the conceptual contingency model that suggests the best technique according to managerial decision categories is used as a guidance. In order to determine the priority of managerial decision categories, the Analytic Hierarchy Process and an extended method are proposed.

In this study, potential Communication Satellite Application Services (CSASs) that are suitable for our communication environment have been identified through a detailed analysis of the CSASs offered in advanced countries. The existing demand forecast based on the defined CSAS category has been improved, and the transponder assignment policy has also been recommended. Managerial problems rather than technical ones for KOREASAT project have mainly been addressed and tackled in this study. For the successful implementation of the domestic communication satellite system, these two problems should be solved simultaneously. Therefore, future research that includes technical as well as managerial issues is expected to come out soon.
