  • We hypothesize work jealousy can moderate the relationship between leader-member exchange (LMX) and two different work behaviors, counterproductive work behavior(CWB) and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). The results supported our hypotheses and found an interaction between LMX and work jealousy such that the relationship between LMX and CWB is negative when jealousy is higher but not when jealousy is lower. We did not find an interaction between LMX and work jealousy on OCB, however. We test our hypotheses in a service organizational sample consisting of one hundred thirty-nine. Managerial implications and directors for future research are discussed.

  • Purpose: The role of salespersons' emotions in effective selling behavior garners attention among scholars and practitioners. Previous studies have investigated the effects of emotional intelligence and emotional labor on sales success separately. However, to understand the whole process, the relationships among salespersons' cognition, emotions, and behaviors should be considered simultaneously. Accordingly, we uniquely examined how salespersons' emotional intelligence (emotional antecedent) and customer orientation (cognitive antecedent) influence their emotional labor (deep acting vs. surface acting), adaptive selling behavior, and the selling results in the retail environment. Research design, data, and methodology: To improve methodological rigor, we used the dyadic approach. We measured 182 salespersons' emotional intelligence, customer orientation, and emotional labor, and 364 customers assessed the salespersons' adaptive selling behavior and selling results in the insurance and duty-free department retailing sectors. Result: The findings suggest that salespersons' customer orientation and emotional intelligence relate to deep-acting of emotional labor, affecting their adaptive selling behavior and relationship quality with customers. Conclusions: As for managerial implications, sales managers may well consider emotional intelligence levels when selecting salespersons in the retail industry. Additionally, practical training programs are required to cultivate customer orientation, emotional intelligence, and deep acting while performing emotional labor.

  • Purpose - The ICT development is affecting the consumer behaviors in selecting channel or distribution system. This study aims to advance the theory on the influence and interaction with omni-channel behaviors. Specifically, analyzing moderating variable is category knowledge that effect between propensity of brand loyalty and its precedence factor which is perceived difference, perceived value, authenticity and consumer-brand relationship. Research design, data, and methodology - The subject of this research is consumers who purchase goods in omni-channel situation. The hypothesis of this research is derived from the literature of the preceding research analysis on brand loyalty, omni-channel and consumer behaviors. This study have constructs that were defined operationally with reference to previous studies, and the research model was designed to figure out the structural relationship among perceived difference, perceived value, authenticity, consumer-brand relationship and brand loyalty. From 2016 Sept. 1 to Dec. 31, a questionnaire survey was performed targeting customers using omni-channel. 327 questionnaire survey had conducted. 316 survey data were used for empirical analysis except data that had missing and wrong value. AMOS(structural equation) was used to confirm the hypothesis which developed by researcher. Results - The results of this study are as follows. First, an authenticity has significant effect on brand loyalty. Second, in the omni-channel situation, but perceived differentiation, perceived value, consumer-brand relationship does not affect brand loyalty. According to this result, it is judged that it is easy to search for information in the situation of omni-channel and integrated decision making is done without distinction between channels. Third, category knowledge has moderating effect between brand loyalty and precedence factors. When the category knowledge level is low, preceding factors have a significant effect on brand loyalty. when the category knowledge level is high, the preceding factors did not have a significant effect on brand loyalty except the authenticity. Conclusions - This study finds out omni-channel's phenomenon is different from other distribution channel phenomenon. In the situation of omni-channel, it is suggested that brand loyalty may be relatively low for a certain brand because it raises the knowledge level of the category. Then this study provides a managerial implications based on the role of the moderate effect on category knowledge, brand loyalty and omni-channel.

  • This study tested how impulse buying behavior for apparel was related to hedonic consumption and impulse buying tendencies and emotion in the context of shopping. A total of 290 self-administered questionnaires were obtained from college students during scheduled classes. A structural equation model using a correlation matrix with maximum likelihood was estimated for examining the relationships among consumer tendencies of hedonic consumption and impulse buying, positive emotion, and impulse buying behaviors by LISREL 8.53. Findings showed that impulse buying behaviors for apparel could be classified into planned, reminded, and fashion-oriented impulse buying typologies. Hedonic consumption and impulse buying tendencies had significant effects on positive emotion. Positive emotion had a significant effect on planned, reminded, and fashion-oriented impulse buying for apparel. This study suggests that positive emotion plays an important role in determining impulse buying behaviors relevant to hedonic and impulse buying tendencies. Managerial implications for apparel retailers are discussed.

  • The Employment Permit System (EPS), a system of bringing in low-skilled foreign workers, has been implemented since 2004 to relieve labor shortages in SMEs. Despite the increasing number of foreign workers under this system, due to lack of research we have very limited managerial understanding. Moreover, previous studies focused on economic or legal perspectives, which calls for a different perspective of business and management. In this study, we examined how to foster organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB) of low-skilled immigrant workers at the workplace by integrating two analytical frames-social support from management studies and cultural adjustment from immigrant literature. We tested our model using a sample of 661 immigrant workers from 11 countries working in Korea. Our results indicated that, social support perception triggered not only a direct effect on organizational citizenship behaviors of immigrant workers but also indirect effects via the level of cultural adaptation. Our findings indicated that two views are all meaningful in explaining OCB of immigrants, and provided practical implications to SMEs using EPS.

The advertisement prototypes were based on three types of authenticities' characteristics. The prototypes were made of core statements about each authenticity. And the advertisement prototypes also were based on the aviation company types. The types of aviation companies could be divided into FSC(full service carrier)and LCC(low cost carrier). So the whole experiments were performed with six kinds of advertisement prototypes(3 brand authenticities X 2 aviation company types). The age of participants were from 20s to 40s. The proportion of participants' demographics are as follow. Age proportion is 50% of 20s and 50% of 30s and 40s. Gender proportion is 46% males and 54% females. The experiments performed through mobile devices. Advertisement prototypes were exposed to the participants through their mobile devices, and they answered the questionnaires. All the process of experiments were performed by a professional research firm to maintain the quality of data. Results - This research suggested some important outcomes as follow. First, brand authenticity had an important role to make a positive consumer attitude on the aviation company. • It is more salient in the high-tech industry to cooperate even among competitors in order to promptly respond to the changes in product architecture. In this sense, 'co-opetition,' which is the combination word between 'cooperation' and 'competition,' is the new business term in the strategic management and represents the two concepts "simultaneously co-exist." From this view, this study set up the research purposes as follows: 1) investigating the corporate managerial and technological behavioral characteristics in the co-opetition of the global display industry. 2) verifying the emerging factors during the co-opetition behavior hereafter. 3) suggesting the strategic direction focusing on the co-opetition behavioral characteristics. To this end, this study used co-word network analysis to understand the structure in context level of the co-opetition. In order to understand topics on each network, we clustered the keywords by community detection algorithm based on modularity and labeled the cluster name. The results show that there were increasing patterns of competition rather than cooperation. Especially, the litigations for mutual control against Korean firms much more severely occurred and increased as time passed by. Investigating these network structure in technological evolution perspective, there were already active cooperation and competition among firms in the early 2000s surrounding the issues of OLED-related technology developments. From the middle of the 2000s, firm behaviors have focused on the acceleration of the existing technologies and the development of futuristic display. In other words, there has been competition to take leadership of the innovation in the level of final products such as the TV and smartphone by applying the display panel products. This study will provide not only better understanding on the context of the display industry, but also the analytical framework for the direction of the predictable innovation through analyzing the managerial and technological factors. Also, the methods can support CTOs and practitioners in the technology planning who should consider those factors in the process of decision making related to the strategic technology management and product development.

  • Traditional studies for customer relationship management (CRM) generally focus on static CRM in a specific time frame. The static CRM and customer behavior knowledge derived could help marketers to redirect marketing resources fur profit gain at that given point in time. However, as time goes, the static knowledge becomes obsolete. Therefore, application of CRM to an online retailer should be done dynamically in time. Customer-based analysis should observe the past purchase behavior of customers to understand their current and likely future purchase patterns in consumer markets, and to divide a market into distinct subsets of customers, any of which may conceivably be selected as a market target to be reached with a distinct marketing mix. Though the concept of buying-behavior-based CRM was advanced several decades ago, virtually little application of the dynamic CRM has been reported to date. In this paper, we propose a dynamic CRM model utilizing data mining and a Monitoring Agent System (MAS) to extract longitudinal knowledge from the customer data and to analyze customer behavior patterns over time for the Internet retailer. The proposed model includes an extensive analysis about a customer career path that observes behaviors of segment shifts of each customer: prediction of customer careers, identification of dominant career paths that most customers show and their managerial implications, and about the evolution of customer segments over time. furthermore, we show that dynamic CRM could be useful for solving several managerial problems which any retailers may face.
