성능에 기반을 둔 목조건축물 화재안전기준 개선방안 (Improvement of Performance based wooden building National Fire Safety Codes)

  • Because National Fire Safety Codes is mixed performance criteria and specification, and it defines the fire extinguish equipment type and standards that need to be installed in a building as one method. Therefore, to fully reflect the fire risk characteristics of the building, such as the wooden building there is a limit. In this study, suggested to the performance criteria drawn methodologies through fire load of wooden buildings studies, theory on performance and performance analysis to fire extinguish equipment of the wooden buildings is installed according to current fire safety codes.

네트워크 시스템 병원의 경영성과 : 비교 연구 (The Financial Performance of Hospitals Belonging to Multi-hospital System : A Comparative Study)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance difference between multi-hospitals and free-standing hospitals. Scholars in industrial economics argue that, due to economies of scale and integration, multi-hospital system may have a better performance compared to freestanding hospitals. The study overturned the hypothesis based on a theory. By analyzing 425 acute-care hospitals in Korea, this research shows that multi-hospital systems and market factors, which have been perceived to be strengths to hospitals, are negatively related to hospitals' financial performance. Specifically, the results showed a better performance of freestanding hospitals compared to multi-hospital systems. Higher labor and administrative cost by multi-hospital system may be the reason for the difference, and it means they are not more effective at cost control. Managers in multi-hospital system, therefore, should pay attention on cost-reducing issues to regain managerial efficiency of organizations.

집단수준에서 변혁적 리더십 및 집단 효능성과 집단성과의 관계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relatonship between Transformational Leadership, Group-efficacy, and Group Performance)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationships among transformatonal leadership, gropefficacy, and group performance. A total of 321 empolyees of a fire and marine insurance frim in Seoul anonymously completed the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire-Form V, which consists of three factors(charisma, individualized consideration and intellectual stimulation) for transformational leadership, and two factors(contingent reward and management by exception) for transactional leadership. The sample, which largely consists of sales supervisors and salesmen, includes 41 sales office branches. The findings of the study are as follows. Transformational leadership is closely associated with group-efficacy and group performance. That is, there are significant correlations between transformational factors and group-efficacy, between the factors and group performance, and between group-efficacy and group performance. A stepwise multiple regressio analysis revealed that transformational leadership augmented the subordinates's extra efforts. It was also found that group-efficacy was mediating the relationship between transformational leadership and group performance. The managerial implications of these findings and future directions of research are also discussed.

  • To achieve a sustainable competitive advantage, firm is required innovative activities and competences. However, Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) is hard to achieve a superior performance because they possess low competences. So, this paper identify determinants of innovation performance by firm size in motor and electronics industry based on a resource-based view. This paper analyzes the effects of innovation activities and competence on innovation performance by using firm-level data provided by Korea Innovation Survey (KIS). The empirical evidence presented shows that there are differences of determinants on innovation performance by industry and firm size.

공급체인리더십이 SCM 성과에 미치는 영향 (The effect of Buyer's Leadership on Vendor's Relational-orientation and SCM performance)

  • Since companies are increasingly aware of the importance of upstream and downstream organizations to their performance, companies' leaders would also like to influence operations with supply chain partners. This paper aims to study the SCM performance and the influencing factors, that is Buyer's leadership and Vendor's relationship-orientation. Also, I try to examine the mediating effect of relationship-orientation between leadership and SCM performance. The results of this study can be summarized as follow; (1) The charismatic trait and individual consideration in transformational leadership factors, and contingent reward in transactional leadership factors positively effected to the relational-orientation. But intellectual stimulation and management-by-exception did not effected to relational-orientation. (2) Only contingent reward in transactional leadership factors was significantly related to the SCM performance. (3) Relational-orientation mediated between SCM leadership and SCM performance.

  • The goal setting and performance measurement is essential tool for performance management. If appropriate goal setting and performance measurement is not done, problems may arise in the management. Therefore, in order to improve the efficiency of building production that management is essential. In addition, the construction project objectives established at the planning phase give considerable influence on the success of the construction project. Therefore, objective of this paper is to suggest the necessity of performance goal setting phase. This paper analyzes problems of goal setting phase and suggests the way to improve about problems.

  • In recent years, academic scholars and practitioners have given increasing attention to the importance of strategic performance measurement systems including both financial and non-financial performance metrics. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is known as integrated performance management framework that helps an enterprise to translate strategic objectives into relevant performance within an organization. While the current literatures and management articles offer BSC design and implementation. there are few reports of detailed validation of using the rationalized sets of CSF (Critical Success Factors) and KPI (Key Performance Indicators) for the Korean construction industry. This paper first propose the perceived sets of CSF/KPI using current literatures and validate with a major construction company's executives and senior managers in Korea. The paper then examines whether the perceived sets of CSF/KPI have co-relationships with the firm performances. The results of the research contribute in heightening of competitiveness of the Korean construction companies in strategic and performance management.

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of the network management system with intelligent mobile agent system. The proposed system dynamically selects appropriate its destinations. Thus, the system has an advantage of flexible network management in mobile network environments as well as dynamic change of traffic. Comparing its delay and throughput performance with the conventional SNMP based network management system, we find that the proposed mobile agent system performs better efficiency than the conventional one.

  • The conventional management which had economic requirement such as productivity, competition, customer satisfaction, and return needs the environmental management in order to meet a change of the external situation such as the environmental requirement (such as resources reduction, pollution prevention, and waste reduction). However, there have been a few studies which try to investigate internal factor and to regard external factors as negative ones. This paper proposes the external factors are significant to the performance. Several hypotheses were developed regarding the relationships. Based on the collected data from 126 firms, the hypotheses were analyed with SPSS.

Customer-centered strategy, employee selection and training, employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction, performance measurement are considered in this paper.
