Construction victims have increased year by year. Disaster proportion is also increasing continuously. Looking over the causes of disasters by each type of work, fall from working platform indicate the highest rate above all so that it is urgently required to set up safety measures. This study is to grasp the present status of construction accidents, to identify areal characteristics of the top 20% accidents on the basis of working platforms with the highest accident rate, to grasp the causes of accidents after their analyses, and to present methods to reduce casualties related to working platforms. As measures to reduce construction disasters, this study proposes to improve safety management and training on working platforms, to complement safety regulations, and to better performance including the development and expansion of certified products suitable for safety regulations.
The purpose of this paper id to study the factors influencing MIS user satisfaction. For this purpose. I have reviewed the results of past studies on the performance factor of MIS, and introduced a new model associated with small & Medium Business. On the basis of this model, I have hypothesized that the following variables influence user satisfaction : (gender, age), individual characteristics(user attitude, training for user), managerial characteristic(top management involvement, organizational support) and task characteristics(task structure). There were 195 participants surveyed using questionnaires from 25 different small & medium Business in Pusan. The research model and associated hypotheses were tested by following statistical techniques: reliability test, regression, t-test and ANOVA. The findings of this study are follows; 1. It was found that gender and age are not correlated user satisfaction. 2. Among individual characteristics, only user attitude influence user satisfaction significantly. 3. While organizational supports influence positively user satisfaction, top management involvement do not influence it. 4. Task structure is highly correlated with user satisfaction. In spite of many factors affecting MIS success, this study did not consider all variables affect on user satisfaction. We need integrated model including more various factors.
Innovation and entrepreneurship education is becoming an important development opportunity for colleges and universities to realize curve overtaking. Affected by the physical and mental development characteristics, female college students in innovative undertaking showed different growth characteristics. In order to further promote female college students' innovative undertaking, we should combine the characteristics of female design with innovation entrepreneurship education path. As one of the three women's colleges, the general innovation and entrepreneurship course system of Shandong Women's University provides a wide education of innovation and entrepreneurship consciousness and thinking for all students. The undergraduate major of business Administration (entrepreneurial management) provides the whole system education of entrepreneurship, and through "system guarantee, professional construction, course system, competition assistance and project cultivation", female students' entrepreneurial consciousness is cultivated and their entrepreneurial ability is improved.
In the perspective of industrial health management, it is important for the employee to decrease their job stress, to improve their productivity and quality of labor. In this study, the job stress, and it's influence on PWI(Psychosocial Wellbeing Index) were investigated by the questionnaire survey of 138 industrial workers who had studied assistive technology in college. The contents of questionnaire consist of the demographic characteristics, job-related characteristics, job stress and psycho-social stress. We evaluated job stress by KOSS-SF(Korean Occupational Stress Scale-Sort Form) and psychosocial stress by PWI-SF(Psychosocial Well-being Index-Short Form). To analyze the results, we evaluated the exposure level of KOSS and PWI by demographic characteristics and job-related characteristics using significance tests. Also, we estimated the relationship among demographic characteristics, job-related characteristics, job stress and psychosocial stress, using correlation analysis. As a results, all workers were found to be in a group under the high risky stress. It showed that the scale index of female's job non-autonomy and pwi were much larger than those of male's. Therefore, to guarantee job autonomy of female workers should be more emphasized, to improve their working environment. Job type had significant relationships with many job stress category; physical environment, job demand, job instability and organization culture. Regarding pwi, the scale index of the workers who is in charge of the civil service such as contacting the disabled and the aged in person, were much larger than that of the other workers. Accordingly, the job stress management program including physical environment, job demand, job instability and organization culture, should be suggested, to decrease the stress of the workers in charge of the disabled and the elders service. The strongest predictors of pwi was organization system through maximum positive relations between organization system and pwi. Therefore, it indicates that improvement of organization system such as a fair merit rating, a manpower supply, demand plan and department cooperation is urgently needed to reduce pwi.
For the purpose of disclosing the relationship between job characteristics and satisfaction and organizational commitment for foodservice employees, questionnaire survey was carried out on 427 subjects of 14 general hospitals in Seoul, Korea. Questionnaire items consisted of general characteristics, organizational commitment, job satisfaction and characteristics. Data were analyzed by ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test and Pearson correlation using SPSS PC package. The results were as follows 1. Mean score of value commitment and commitment to stay were 3.57 and 3.67. 2. There were significant differences between value commitment and age, marital status department, period and management, and between commitment to stay and experience and management. 3. Mean score of job satisfaction was the highest in co-workers(3.37) and work itself (3.37) and followed by in supervision(3.25), wage(2.43) and promotion(2.01). There were significant differences between job satisfaction for work itself and age, educational status and job department and management, between job satisfaction for wage and position, department, period and management, between job satisfaction for supervision and age, educational status and department, between job satisfaction for promotion and age, marital status, position, period, and management, between job satisfaction for co-workers and sex and educational status. 4. Mean score of job characteristics was the highest in dealing with others(4.13) and followed by in feedback(3.51), autonomy(3.29), task identify(3.07), variety(2.71) and friendship(2.47). 5. Job satisfaction for work itself, supervision and co-workers were significantly increased with increasing value commitment. Job satisfaction for work itself, supervision were significantly increased with increasing commitment to stay. Job satisfaction for promotion had negative correlation with organizational commitment in all job position. 6. Value commitment had significantly positive correlations with variety, autonomy, identity, feedback and dealing with others, and significantly negative correlation with friendship. Commitment to stay had significantly positive correlations with dealing with others, and significantly negative correlations with friendship. In all job position organizational commitment had significantly negative correlations with friendship.
Importance of FM has rapidly increased because of its growing business. However, due to lack of clarity and identity of FM in professional areas, standardization of FM became to be imperative in such a rapidly changing global business environment. Facility services are defined as the provision of support the primary activities of an organization, delivered by an internal or external provider. Majority of FM activities are services related to 'space and infrastructure' and 'people and organization' (CEN, 2011). The purpose of this study is to investigate definitions and characteristics of FM from both globally and domestic environment, by comparison with international or national standards, to identify quality management in FM and service characteristics of FM, to investigate the differences in service level elaboration in FM, and to suggest standard issues of quality management in FM service quality. This study examines contents of the European Standards in FM, Part 3 'Guidance on quality in Facility Management, especially for the process of QM standardized by CEN (2011) and explores undefined issues such as service level, measurement metrics according to service characteristics of FM. The European FM Standard guides the common process of QM in terms of requirements specification, service level elaboration, measurement metrics development although it does not specifically address various service levels, specific performance metrics and indicators.
This study primarily aims at identifying what factors significantly affect the diffusion of knowledge management systems(KMS) and finding out how these identified factors can be effectively managed, especially for Korean companies. The research model is derived based on previous researches on innovation diffusion, information systems implementation, and KMS. The model is used to examine the role of determinants in influencing the extent to which KMS is diffused within organizations. Independent variables of this research are composed of technical characteristics, organizational characteristics and environmental characteristics. 'Breadth of diffusion' and 'depth of diffusion' concept are used to measure the extent of KMS diffusion which is the dependent variable of this model. The 101 companies of total 1,000 samples responded to the survey. To analyze tile results of this empirical study, we performed the multiple regression analysis. As a result, it was shown that the relative advantage, complexity, information system maturity, size, top management support, champion, competitive pressure have influences on both the breadth and the depth diffusions. On the other hand, the organizational culture, valuation and compensation, and uncertainty of environmental factors were not verified to be significant. This empirical study will provide Korean companies with insights into effective ways to diffuse the KMS and succeed in business competition.
About 50 percent of irrigation and drainage facilities in our country are deteriorated as they were constructed over 40 years ago. Worsening the problems in function might be caused by these facilities' constant exposure to the elements. With these reason, efficient maintenance and management of irrigation and drainage facili- ties are required. A computerized system is tailored on the basis of the each characteristics'data of irrigation and drainage facilities. The unified management system to be introduced in this study is a package program consisting of three subprograms. Facility Management(FM) system, the first component, is a relational database system for image processing and registering the characteristics of irrigation and drainage facilities. The objective of this program is to manage the ledger of each facilities and to scan the characteristics of facilities. Telemeter(TM) system, the second component, monitors and processes the data from the sensors statistically. This system is preprogramed for the complete design of TC/TM system. Hydrological Data Management(HDM) system, the third component, executes the hydrological analysis using meteorological data. The unified management system can provide the latest information, such as image data, lists and items of facilities, and items of reforming and rebuilding etc., of the facilities to the manager. At the same time, this system can manage hydrological and meteorological data in realtime.
Recently, ERP system is used as a important tool of management innovation for enterprise's survival and development. It is very important to recognize how much influence to organizational performance through ERP system implementation. The purpose of this study is to find out the impact of environmental, organizational, information systems characteristics on successful implementation of ERP systems in Korean SMEs(Small and Medium Enterprises). From previous researches on ERP adoption and implementation, 7 independent variables (competitiveness, government support, top management support, process innovation, project management, IS maturity, and ERP customizing), and 1 dependent variables (successful implementation of ERP systems) are identified. 3 questionnaires were removed from the study because of missing or inappropriate responses, and final samples are 91 SMEs. The results of hypothesis testing show that determinants of successful implementation of ERP systems are top management support and IS maturity. Five variables such as competitiveness, government support, process innovation, project management, and ERP customizing do not significantly influence to successful implementation of ERP systems. The contribution of this study is that it provides an empirical evidence of the causal relationship between ERP adoption factor and ERP success. This study showed that top management support and IS maturity are essential to accomplish successful ERP implementation for SMEs.
Purpose: This research studied the nurses' knowledge and attitude about pain management. Method: The research subjects were 465 nurses working at three university hospitals in Seoul and at one university hospital in Kyunggi-do. The survey results were collected between October 13 and 21 in 2004. Result: The overall mean score of correct answers on knowledge about pain management was 73.34, general knowledge 71.08, and cancer pain control was 93.93. Similarly, the mean score of correct answers on knowledge about the classification of analgesics was 75.89, while the knowledge of their use was only 52.48. The overall characteristics related to the degree of the nurses' knowledge about pain management were their educational background and their experiences of pain education. In a similar view, the overall characteristics related to the knowledge about the classification of analgesics were age and religion. Likewise, the use of analgesics was related to field of service and the experience of pain education. Finally, the overall characteristics related to the nurse's attitude toward pain management were their field of service and their position. Conclusion: The results of this study could be useful to institutions involved in the education and application of patient pain management.
