Background & Objective, Methods: This study aims to analyze the reason why if university students feel lack of sleep and study how much we know about correct sleeping habits and thus increase attention on correct sleeping habits and prepare plans for applying this into our lives thus 210 male and female students from 2 universities in Daegu were studied during May 10 and 15 of 2006 and the summary and results are as follows. Results: Sleeping is very important since it as much as takes about 1/3 of our lives. However, most of students do not sleep well. Therefore, this study researched the reason for not sleeping well and the status on incorrect sleeping habits subjecting 210 university students. The results of this research showed that average sleeping hours are for $6{\sim}8$ hours and majority of students went to bed before lam and got up before 7am. Majority of students went to bed late to watch TV or doing computers from both male and female students followed by attending various gatherings. It took $10{\sim}20$ minutes to fall asleep and reasons for waking up while sleeping was with no special reason. The most sleepy time was after meals at 39% followed by during class, during daytime, while using transportations. More female students answered to take nap than male students and majority of them answered as taking nap for less than 2 hours. And, 51% answered that they slept well and 49% answered that they did not, and majority of them answered the reason for not sleeping well as being sensitive, or because of dreams and nightmares. Chronic fatigue was the biggest cause for lack of sleeping followed by fall in concentration, skin diseases. Conclusions: The results of this study showed that we need to take plenty of sleep by exercising regularly or sleeping for daily appropriate hours, maintaining peaceful mind before going to bed, avoid taking naps and limiting the time for watching TV and doing computers to develop correct sleeping habits. Also, we hope that it will Provide an opportunity to live healthy and quality lives mentally as well as physically by realizing and practicing the importance and necessity of sleeping.
The dual purposes of this study were to investigate footwear worn by college students who have become spoilt for choice in apparel & shoes, and point out the problems of their shoe-wearing habbits. The survey was administered in October, 2010 to 600 college residents in Kwangju-Jeonnam area and the results are as follows. Firstly, the most frequently worn footware by males were sneakers, followed by dress shoes and oxford shoes. Females followed a similar trend with sneakers being the most frequently worn, followed by high heeled shoes, flat shoes, wedge high heeled shoes and chucker boots. Secondly, both male and female students thought that the most comfortable and favorable shoes for them were sneakers and the most uncomfortable ones were high-heeled shoes and sandals. They thought chucker boots were both fashionable and comfortable. Thirdly, the degree of unsatisfaction for shoes was relatively high and the influencing factors for unsatisfaction were uncomfortable soles, aches around the toes and a frontward leaning posture of the body, etc. Finally, 87% of the female subjects who had experience wearing high-heeled(over 7cm height) shoes showed a significant increase in foot disorders than those who had never worn high-heeled shoes. According to the results, it is necessary to educate proper selection and wearing of footwear in order to prevent foot disorders and maintain overall health of the body.
This study was carried out to find out the of attitude and knowledge to blood donors in college and University students to provide basic data necessary for managing current blood donation system. The data were collected from 844 students from september 8 to 21, 2008 by using a self-administered questionnaire. The results were as follows: The major demographic characteristics were female 55.8% and the age group of 20-24s 60.5%, no religion 43.5%, blood type A 34.8% and so on. The major motivation for blood donation were to obtain a blood donation certificate to knowing necessary to blood donation 27.1%, take a voluntary service scored and souvenir 18.7%, and worthwhile and pride 9.9%. The experience the blood donation was 53.8%(male 69.2%, female 41.6%) of participants. Students who had more knowledge and desirable attitude about blood donation experienced more blood donations. It is important to clarify factors affecting blood donation practice and to encourage the public education and campaign which enable public has accurate knowledge and positive attitude about blood donation.

This study investigated college students' health status, health attitudes, and eating and general health practices. They then were compared to the students' degree of health consciousness. Four hundred college students in Pusan participated in this study, of which 203 were young men and 197 young women. While college students considered that they were generally healthy, there were a number of negative health factors, such as fatigue and stress, particularly amongst the young women. They were not particularly concerned about or active in taking care of their health. There were, for example, problems of smoking and drinking among the young men, and a lack of exercise among female students. Female had more eating problems than male frequency and consistency in the quantity of meals, overeating, and snacking. On the other hand, women seemed to show more possibilities for improving the food habits. Health status did not appear to co vary significantly with the degree of health con sciousness. However, the higher the level of health concern, the more interest in health information and weight gain anxiety students had, and the more active measures in health care they took. Students who had high or moderate concern for health practiced more desirable eating habit than students who lacked this concern. In conclusion, educational programs which can increase concern for health among college students should be prepared in order to maintain their bodily health now and in the future. If such programs were developed with gender differences in mind, making college students take a positive attitude towards health issues and management of their own health, it would be more effective.
The purpose of this study was to analyze career cognition, key competency, vocational values of university students and junior college students. The study was carried out through questionnaire survey method. The population sample for the study constituted 368 completed questionnaires from sample of 373 freshmen-women of university and students. A survey questionnaire consisted of career cognition items, key competency scale, vocational values scale, and personal characteristics items. The construct validity of key competency scale and vocational values scale were confirmed by factor analysis with varimax rotation. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were employed for data analysis. Major findings of this study were as follows: First, university students and junior college students most wanted to get a job after graduate. Many students decided their career at high school days. Many students were not prepared for their career after graduate. They recognized that major curriculum of university and junior college was very helpful to prepare their career. And many students discussed with their parents about their career. Second, key competency of them was moderately high. In the items of key competencies, 'communication and following' was the highest. And key competency of university students was better than that of junior college students. Key competency of male students was better than that of female students. Third, vocational values of them were high. In the items of vocational values, 'occupational stability' was the highest, and 'work in freedom and challenge' was the lowest. 'Occupational stability' and 'work in freedom and challenge' of junior college students was higher than that of university students. And 'occupational stability' of female students was higher than that of male students.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the mandibular opening and closing movements at mandibular incisor region and clinical rest position in normal subject using the newly developed electric mandibular movement analyzing device, (M.K.G.-K6 diagnostic system, Myo-tronics Inc. Seattle, WA, U.S.A.) The 58 normal subjects, who were students of the College of Dentistry, Chonbuk National University, were selected according to sampling criteria. The obtained results were as follows: 1. There was no significant difference of distribution of opening and closing movement patterns at mandibular incisor region between male and female. There was significant difference between habitual and maximum movement patterns both in sagittal and frontal plane. 2. Although the percentage of distribution of crossover pattern was highest in all cases, but there were significant differences between patterns only at habitual opening and closing movement in sagittal plane. 3. The mean of maximum opening was $47.29{\pm}4.68mm$ in male and $42.15{\pm}4.95mm$ in female. Therefore the mean of maximum opening was larger in male than in female. 4. The mean of maximum laterotrusion in frontal trajectory was larger to the left than to the right. Also the proportion of left deviation at maximum opening position was larger than that of other cases. 5. The mean of maximum opening and closing velocity was higher in male than in female and the mean of closing velocity was higher than that of opening velocity. Also the amount of separation from the centric occlusion was higher in maximum closing velocity than in maximum opening velocity. 6. Clinical rest position was $1.70{\pm}0.99mm$ inferior, $0.74{\pm}0.57mm$ anterior, $0.99{\pm}0.51mm$ right from centric occlusion and the A/V ratio was 1:2.7.
The main purpose of this research was to examine a causal model concerning the direct and the indirect effect of family-of-origin functioning on psychological well-being through self-differentiation. The gender differences in the levels of the variables and the correlations among the variables were also examined. Participants were 587 female and 268 male students enrolled in nine different universities. The causal model was tested through structural equation model by using AMOS 8.0 program. The result showed that the levels of self-differentiation and psychological well-being were higher for males than for females, and that the three variables were positively associated to each other for both males and females. The result also indicated that male students' perception of family-of-origin functioning directly influenced their psychological well-being as well as indirectly through self-differentiation, while females' family-of-origin functioning had only a direct effect on their well-being. Results were discussed in terms of the applicability of self-differentiation to Korean college students and of the importance of family-of-origin functioning to improve students' mental health.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the daily life experiences of medical students and to explore gender differences in these experiences using the Experience Sampling Method (ESM) as the method. The instrument, the Experience Sampling Form (ESF), consisted of questions on the external and internal experiences of the respondents. Data were collected from 2,035 ESFs by 91 students (male=52, female=39) at three medical schools for one week. The data was analyzed using the statistical tests of the t-test and ${\chi}^2$ test. Activity places were significantly different by gender (${\chi}^2=16.576$, p=.001). Males spent more time in learning places such as schools, libraries, etc., whereas females spent their time in personal places, including their homes, dormitories, etc. Males undertook more learning activities than did females, and females undertook more social/leisure activities and basic life activities than did male students (${\chi}^2=18.753$, p=.001). They were in a learning place and performing learning activities. There were significant perceptual differences between males and females about their flow levels, competency levels, and difficulty levels, based on the activity type. These results can help us to understand the daily lives of medical students and can be useful in developing counseling programs and educational activities for students.
This study explored men's choice of fashion as a college major and, subsequently, a non-traditional career path. Such investigation is important to gain a better understanding of the motives and processes of selecting a non-traditional college major and subsequent career path. This research consulted several theoretical frameworks to guide the development of research questions and help interpret the findings of the study. Specifically, our study builds upon Holland's trait theory (1982), Gottfredson's (1981) circumscription theory, Farmer's (1985) model of career motivation, and Simpson's (2005) typology of men's non-traditional career entry. A qualitative method was used to explore men's experiences of selecting fashion as an academic major in college and deciding to pursue a career in the traditionally female-dominated field. Following the analysis of 22 individual interviews with male upperclassmen majoring in fashion, three topical areas emerged and we proposed a model of male students' path to a non-traditional college major. The model explains male students' dynamics of entering a non-traditional college major, the role of personal and social factors in the decision process as well as the role of future career orientation when choosing to study fashion as an academic major.

The purpose of this study was to investgate the relationship between two aspects of sex role and two aspects of clothing behavior. For Sex Role: Sex role attitude was measured by Smith, Ferree, and Miller's Feminism Scale, and sex role personality was measured by Bem's Sex Role Inventory. For Clothing Behavior: a unisex clothing behavior questionnaire was developed for this study, and general clothing behavior was assessed with Lee; Kahng; Kim; and Kim's questionnaires dealing with fashion and modesty. The questionnaires were administered to a sample of male and female college students attending universities in Seoul. The data for 349 respondents were analyzed by correlation, analysis of variance and t-tests. The results were: 1) Liberal attitudes toward sex role were positively related to unisex clothing behavior for female college students. 2) The androgynous female group exhibited significantly higher 'interest in unisex clothing behavior' attitude than non-androgynous female students. 3) Feminine personality in men was positively related to a positive attitude toward unisex clothing. Masculinine personality in women was positively related to unisex clothing behavior that is they were more likely to be interested in, to wear, and to agree to others wearing unisex clothing. 4) Liberal attitudes toward sex role were not related to modesty in clothing. 5) Scores of women on positive attiudes toward liberal sex roles, unisex clothing behavior, fashion, and modesty were significantly higher than these of men.
